2017년 소개된 재고관리 소프트웨어 9종을 2026년 기준으로 그대로 추천하기는 어렵습니다. 당시 목록에는 오픈소스 여부나 현재 서비스 상태가 확인되지 않은 제품이 섞여 있고, 제품마다 일반 상품 재고, ERP, IT 자산관리처럼 목적도 다릅니다. 현재 공식 정보로 용도와 상태를 확인할 수 있는 후보는 Apache OFBiz와 Snipe-IT이며, PartKeepr는 저장소가 보관 처리돼 신규 도입에 주의가 필요합니다.
2017년의 ‘9가지’ 목록을 지금 그대로 믿으면 안 되는 이유
CIO의 2017년 10월 23일 기사에는 ABC Inventory, Apache OFBiz, Delivrd, Odoo, OpenBoxes, Openbravo, PartKeepr, Rightcontrol Lite, Snipe-IT가 소개됐습니다. 당시 기사는 무료 도구와 오픈소스 제품을 한 범주로 다뤘습니다. 하지만 무료로 쓸 수 있다는 사실만으로 소스코드가 공개됐거나, 현재도 지원된다고 볼 수는 없습니다.
현재 공식 정보로 확인할 수 있는 사실만 놓고 보면, OFBiz는 재고 기능을 포함한 오픈소스 ERP 플랫폼이고 Snipe-IT는 IT 자산 관리용 오픈소스 시스템입니다. PartKeepr 저장소는 2025년 7월 2일 보관 처리됐습니다. 그 밖의 제품은 현재 배포·서비스 상태나 오픈소스 라이선스를 확인하지 못한 경우가 있어 현행 추천으로 단정하기 어렵습니다.
무료와 오픈소스는 다르다

- 무료 호스팅 플랜: 서비스 이용료가 무료라는 뜻이지, 서비스의 소스코드가 공개됐다는 뜻은 아닙니다.
- 자체 호스팅: 라이선스 비용을 아낄 수 있지만 서버, 백업, 보안 업데이트, 장애 대응, 사용자 교육과 맞춤 개발에 비용이 들 수 있습니다.
따라서 제품을 비교할 때는 ‘무료인가’뿐 아니라 어떤 에디션과 라이선스인지, 직접 운영할 인력과 예산이 있는지를 함께 확인해야 합니다.

Apache OFBiz: 재고 앱보다 ERP 플랫폼에 가깝다
Apache OFBiz 공식 사이트는 회계, 주문관리, 전자상거래, 창고·재고, 제조·MRP 기능을 제공하는 업무 애플리케이션 제품군으로 소개합니다. 오픈소스 프로젝트이며 라이선스 비용이 없다고 설명하지만, 기업 환경에 맞게 설치·설정하고 업무 흐름을 구성하는 데 드는 비용까지 없다는 뜻은 아닙니다.

OFBiz는 Java 기반의 웹 애플리케이션 플랫폼이므로 단순 재고 앱과 같은 기준으로 ‘설치가 쉽다’고 전제하면 안 됩니다. 도입 전에는 필요한 모듈, 연동 개발, 운영 담당자, 백업·업그레이드 책임을 정해야 합니다.
Snipe-IT: 상품이 아니라 사내 IT 자산을 추적한다

식품·의류·부품을 판매하면서 구매 주문, 판매 출고, 다중 창고 수량, 제조 소요량을 관리하려는 사업에는 목적이 다를 수 있습니다. ‘재고’라는 말이 같더라도 IT 장비를 추적하는 자산관리와 판매 가능한 상품의 재고관리는 구분해야 합니다.
PartKeepr는 전자부품용이지만 신규 도입은 주의
PartKeepr는 전자부품의 카탈로그와 보관 재고를 관리하는 용도로 알려져 있습니다. 그러나 공식 GitHub 저장소는 2025년 7월 2일 아카이브돼 읽기 전용으로 전환됐으며, 제시된 요구사항에는 PHP 7.0~7.1과 구형 Symfony 기반이 포함됩니다. 저장소가 보관 상태인 데다 구형 기술 요구사항이 확인되는 만큼, 보안·호환성·장기 지원을 중시하는 신규 운영 시스템으로는 위험을 따져야 합니다.

이미 설치한 조직은 바로 운영을 중단하기보다 외부 접근 통제, 백업과 복구, 호환 가능한 환경, 대체 시스템으로의 데이터 이전 가능성을 점검해야 합니다. 신규 도입과 기존 시스템 유지의 판단은 다릅니다.

제조·유통 기업
창고·구매·판매·제조를 한 흐름으로 연결할 필요가 있다면 OFBiz 같은 ERP형 플랫폼을 검토할 수 있습니다. 먼저 현행 업무 프로세스와 데이터 이전 범위를 정하고, 필요한 기능을 기본 설정으로 처리할지 개발할지 확인해야 합니다.
