TechCrunch reported the transaction as a cash-and-share deal valued at $450 million, citing people familiar with the matter; Wiz’s announcement did not disclose a purchase price. The transaction is now part of Wiz’s history: Google completed its acquisition of Wiz, and Wiz said on March 11, 2026, that it had begun operating as a Google company.
What Wiz announced in November 2024
Wiz presented Dazz as an addition to its cloud-to-code security strategy. The stated goal was to connect security findings from different sources with cloud and application context, identify underlying causes, and help engineering teams fix vulnerabilities in code.
Assaf Rappaport, Wiz’s co-founder and CEO, wrote that Dazz’s remediation engine would let security teams “correlate data from multiple sources and manage application risks in one unified platform.” That is Wiz’s description of the intended product combination, not an independent measurement of performance.
The reported financial terms
| Item | What is established |
|---|---|
| Announcement date | November 21, 2024, according to Wiz |
| Reported value | $450 million, reported by TechCrunch in 2024, citing sources familiar with the deal |
| Payment structure | TechCrunch described it as a cash-and-share transaction |
| Official price disclosure | Wiz’s acquisition announcement did not publish a purchase price |
Accordingly, $450 million should be treated as a media-reported deal value rather than a figure Wiz publicly confirmed. The sources do not establish a separate breakdown between cash and shares, a valuation multiple, or the final consideration paid.

What Dazz did
Dazz was founded in 2021 by Merav Bahat, who served as CEO, Tomer Schwartz, who served as CTO, and Yuval Ofir, who served as vice president of research and development. The companies described its platform as using automation, artificial intelligence and root-cause analysis to help security and engineering teams prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities.
In Wiz’s November 21, 2024 acquisition release, the company attributed the following figures to Dazz:
- 500% year-over-year annual recurring-revenue growth;
- more than 8 billion vulnerabilities managed; and
- more than two billion issues resolved at root cause.
Those are company-reported figures as of the 2024 announcement. They are not independently audited statistics established by the available sources.

Why the acquisition made strategic sense
Moving from finding problems to fixing them
Cloud-security products can generate findings across infrastructure, identities, applications and code. Wiz said Dazz could help connect those signals, map them to root issues and route remediation toward engineering workflows. The strategic case was therefore broader than adding another vulnerability scanner: it was an attempt to shorten the path from exposure discovery to a code or configuration fix.

Linking cloud and application context
Wiz described the combination as an extension of cloud-to-code security and application-risk remediation. In practical terms, the intended workflow was to show how a vulnerability relates to a running cloud asset or application, then give security and engineering teams a common basis for deciding what to fix first.
Adding Dazz’s team and customer base
Rappaport told TechCrunch that Dazz had “the best talent and the best customers” and was a strong culture fit. Merav Bahat said exposure management and remediation had become priorities for cybersecurity teams ranging from Fortune 500 companies to high-growth businesses. These statements are executive views, not independent proof of market leadership.
Wiz also said in the 2024 release that more than 45% of Fortune 100 companies were its customers. That is a vendor-reported customer figure and should not be read as an independent market-share statistic.
What happened after the Dazz deal
The corporate timeline changed materially after the acquisition announcement. Google completed its acquisition of Wiz, and Google Cloud and Wiz announced the completion on March 11, 2026. Wiz said that date marked the start of its journey as a Google company.
Google Cloud said Wiz would retain its brand and that its products would continue supporting major cloud environments, including Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Platform. Thus, the Dazz transaction should be understood within Wiz’s later ownership by Google rather than as a standalone, still-pending acquisition.
How to interpret the deal as a finance story
A reported $450 million price can be useful for understanding the scale of cybersecurity consolidation, but it does not by itself show whether the acquisition created value for Wiz, Dazz’s investors or Google. The available reporting does not provide Dazz’s revenue, purchase-accounting treatment, earn-outs, retention packages, integration costs or post-acquisition results.
For readers evaluating enterprise-security companies, the more meaningful questions are operational:
- Can the platform connect cloud findings to application and code context?
- Does it identify root causes rather than treating every alert as a separate issue?
- Can security and engineering teams share remediation workflows and ownership?
- Will the product continue to work across the organization’s cloud providers?
The acquisition announcement establishes the rationale Wiz gave for buying Dazz, but it does not establish a head-to-head product comparison or prove that the combined platform is superior to alternatives.
