“TD Bank app not working” can mean a TD Bank U.S. service disruption, a bad connection, an outdated or incompatible app, a locked login, failed security verification, or one feature such as Mobile Deposit or Zelle being unavailable. The fastest way to identify the category is to open TD Online Banking in a normal browser before changing anything else.
If the website and app both fail, suspect an outage, account-access problem, or authentication issue. If the website works while the app fails, concentrate on the phone, app, permissions, or network. If only one feature fails, check that feature’s status and your transaction activity before retrying.
Start with this 60-second check
- Open TD Online Banking in a normal browser and try to sign in.
- Switch from Wi-Fi to cellular data, or from cellular data to a trusted Wi-Fi network.
- Check whether other secure websites work. Avoid public Wi-Fi for banking.
- Look for an update in the official Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Check account activity, pending transactions and confirmations before repeating any payment, transfer or deposit.
Do not assume TD is down from one error message. Third-party outage sites show user reports, not official confirmation. A possible outage should be described with a date, location and multiple independent reports; as of August 18, 2026, the official material reviewed did not establish a confirmed TD Bank U.S. system-wide outage.

Fix an app that will not open, crashes, freezes or shows a blank screen
iPhone or iPad
- Force-close the TD app and open it again.
- Restart the device.
- Install pending TD app and iOS or iPadOS updates.
- Check free storage and confirm the app came from the official App Store.
- Temporarily disable a VPN, private DNS, ad blocker or restrictive network filter, then test again.
- Delete and reinstall the app only after confirming your username, password and access to TD security codes.
- Use TD Online Banking in a browser as a fallback.
The Apple listing checked on August 18, 2026, required iOS/iPadOS 17 or later and showed version 26.10.1 in recent version history. Requirements and versions can change, so verify the listing before relying on those figures: TD Bank (US) on the App Store.
Android
- Force-stop the app, restart the phone and install app and Android updates.
- Check storage and temporarily remove network filters or VPN connections.
- In Android settings, clear the app cache. Menu names vary by manufacturer and Android version.
- Clear app data or reinstall only when your login and verification details are available.
- Test the browser version.
Use only the official Google Play listing, which identifies the developer as TD Bank, N.A.: TD Bank (US) on Google Play. Do not install an APK from an unofficial website.

Fix TD login problems
“Incorrect username or password”
- Type the credentials manually; password managers and autofill can insert an old value.
- Make sure you are using TD Bank U.S. credentials, not those for another TD service.
- Use TD’s official username-recovery or password-reset tutorials in the Help Center.
- Do not keep guessing. Repeated attempts can contribute to a lock.
- Try the website. If recovery fails or TD reports a lock, contact TD.
The app returns to the login screen
This can result from an incomplete security-code handoff, a broken session, a defective update, biometric authentication or network filtering. Enter the username and password manually, turn off Face ID, Touch ID or fingerprint login temporarily, switch networks, update and restart the app, then test the web version. Reinstall only as a later app-level step.

“No internet connection” when other apps work
The message can indicate a blocked endpoint, captive public Wi-Fi, VPN or private-DNS conflict, unstable service, or a temporary TD server error—not necessarily a completely offline phone. Open another secure site, switch networks, disable filtering temporarily and try the browser version.
Fix security-code and two-step verification failures
TD says its app uses single-use security codes and supports biometric login on supported devices: TD mobile app and TD Bank U.S. App Store listing.

- No code arrives: check cellular service, blocked-message settings, notification permissions and the phone number registered with TD.
- The code expires: request one new code and use only the newest message.
- The app loops after entry: switch to the web version, disable biometrics temporarily and update or restart the app.
- New phone, SIM, travel or roaming: the device may need additional verification and SMS delivery may be unreliable.
- Repeated failures: stop requesting codes and contact TD before the profile becomes locked.
Never give anyone an online-banking password, debit-card PIN or one-time code. TD’s Security Center says it will not ask for sensitive information such as an online-banking password or card PIN. An unexpected verification request can indicate fraud; contact TD through an official number.
When only Mobile Deposit is failing
TD says Mobile Deposit requires an active eligible checking, savings or money-market account, a supported internet-enabled iOS or Android device and a working camera: TD Help Center.
- Enable camera permission for the TD app.
- Place the check on a flat, well-lit surface without glare and retake both sides if the image is blurry or cropped.
- Follow TD’s endorsement and amount instructions and confirm the account is eligible.
- Save the confirmation screen or reference number.
- Do not submit the same check repeatedly. A pending deposit is not proof that funds are immediately available.
TD says mobile-deposit funds are usually available the next business day, subject to exceptions and its funds-availability rules: TD mobile app.

When Zelle, transfers, Bill Pay or Card Controls fail
A successful login does not guarantee every feature is available. Zelle enrollment, transfers, Bill Pay submission and card controls can be affected by account eligibility, limits, security review, a pending status or a service supporting that feature. TD lists these functions and their availability qualifications on its mobile-app page and Help Center.
- Check the website and account activity for pending or completed status.
- Review email or SMS confirmations.
- Do not retry immediately if a payment or transfer may have been submitted; duplicates can result.
- Contact TD for a time-sensitive, missing, duplicated or restricted transaction.
When another financial app cannot connect to TD
If the TD app and website work but Plaid, Quicken, QuickBooks, a budgeting app or payroll tool fails, the problem is usually the third-party connection rather than TD’s mobile app.
- Confirm TD works independently in its official app or website.
- Update or reconnect the third-party service through its own support flow.
- For supported Quicken or QuickBooks reconnection, TD’s path is Account Options → Account Services → Financial Tools Access Management: TD security-upgrade guidance.
- Verify that authentication is occurring on
authentication.td.comoronlinebanking.tdbank.com, domains identified by TD in its fintech-app security guidance. - Do not repeatedly retry if attempts may trigger a lock, and never enter TD credentials into an imitation page.
When to contact TD
Contact TD promptly if the profile appears locked, password recovery fails, money is inaccessible through both app and website, a transaction is missing or unauthorized, a deposit or transfer is time-sensitive, or verification codes still do not arrive after checking the phone connection.
