AgentExchange is Salesforce’s marketplace and distribution layer for Agentforce components and related ecosystem solutions. It is designed to help customers find reusable tools while giving partners a way to package and distribute software and expertise. The scope has changed over time: Salesforce launched it in 2025 as a marketplace for Agentforce components; a Salesforce Help article published June 17, 2026 describes a broader destination spanning Salesforce applications, Slack-native solutions, and the Agentforce ecosystem.

What is AgentExchange?

At launch on March 4, 2025, Salesforce described AgentExchange as a marketplace and community for Agentforce, integrated into Salesforce. Its initial offer included partner- and community-built actions, prompt templates, topics, and agent templates. Salesforce said customers could discover, try, and buy solutions in the marketplace or from Salesforce’s agent-building tools. The launch announcement cited more than 200 initial partners and hundreds of ready-made components that had undergone security and customer reviews; those are launch-era figures, not current counts. Salesforce’s launch announcement.

Salesforce Help’s June 17, 2026 description presents a wider marketplace: a unified destination for traditional Salesforce applications, Slack-native solutions, and Agentforce ecosystem offerings. Salesforce reports 13,000+ solutions across this combined scope, along with semantic search and discovery in Agentforce Builder and Slack. That figure is not a count of AI-agent listings alone, and the company’s description is not an independent audit of marketplace scale or performance. Salesforce Help: Learn about AgentExchange.

How AgentExchange is meant to help customers find and use agent tools

Reusable building blocks

The original component model is useful for understanding what customers may encounter:

  • Actions give an agent jobs it can perform or integrations it can use.
  • Prompt templates provide reusable instructions.
  • Topics group actions and instructions around a task, including guardrails.
  • Agent templates combine topics and actions into a more complete starting solution.

Salesforce presented discovery inside Agent Builder as a way to find relevant components while building, rather than starting every agent project from scratch. Its 2026 Help article adds semantic search and discovery in Agentforce Builder and Slack, plus one-click activation. These are documented product capabilities, not independently measured evidence that a project will take less time or deliver better results.

Examples announced at launch

Salesforce’s March 2025 announcement named partner examples that illustrate the range of intended use cases. They are announced examples, not independent product tests:

How it relates to AppExchange, Slack, and MCP

AgentExchange should be understood according to the date and scope of the source. It was not described at its 2025 launch as the unified AppExchange-and-Slack destination Salesforce documents in 2026. The 2026 figure of 13,000+ covers a combined marketplace scope, not just Agentforce components. Salesforce also reports 6,000+ AgentX apps connected through MCP; that is a connectivity figure, not a marketplace listing count.

Earlier ecosystem announcements provide context but do not establish that every integration is an AgentExchange listing or generally available today. Salesforce’s 2024 Agentforce Partner Network announcement described third-party skills, actions, and agents for connecting Agentforce to other systems and specialized use cases. Its 2025 Agentforce 3 announcement described MCP servers from more than 30 partners, including AWS, Box, Cisco, Google Cloud, IBM, Notion, PayPal, Stripe, Teradata, and WRITER. 2024 Agentforce Partner Network announcement; 2025 Agentforce 3 announcement.

How partners may monetize Agentforce work

AgentExchange gives partners a potential route to package and distribute actions, templates, agents, applications, integrations, and related expertise. The broader partner ecosystem also includes implementation and integration services that help customers build and deploy agent solutions. This is a category-level commercial opportunity, not proof that a given partner earns revenue from a listing.

The Salesforce materials cited here do not establish current listing eligibility, listing fees, revenue shares, referral commissions, or actual partner earnings. The 2026 Help article describes private offers and transaction automation, but does not publish a payout formula or full partner commercial terms. Partners considering the channel need to confirm the applicable Salesforce partner documentation and contractual terms for their specific offering.

What customers should evaluate before buying or activating a solution

Marketplace discovery can make options easier to find, and private offers may support negotiated purchasing. Neither fact establishes that a particular agent is safe, effective, compatible, or economical for a specific organization. Compare solutions against the organization’s own requirements:

  1. Task and industry fit: Does the solution address a defined workflow, and are its assumptions appropriate for the organization?
  2. Systems and data: Which applications, data sources, and permissions does it need? Confirm integration scope and data access.
  3. Security and governance: Review the provider’s security information, required permissions, oversight controls, and fit with internal policy.
  4. Implementation and administration: Account for configuration, integration, testing, ongoing monitoring, and maintenance—not just activation.
  5. Total cost: Estimate costs under the organization’s actual Salesforce licensing, usage, and contract model, including any implementation or ongoing support.

What is known about costs—and what is not

Salesforce announced Flex Credits on May 15, 2025 at $0.10 per action and $500 for a 100,000-credit pack, and said customers could shift investment between user licenses and credits. These are historical announcement prices, not verified current rates. Salesforce says its AgentExchange Go-To-Market App can automate transaction workflows from offer creation through fulfillment, support negotiated private offers, and reduce procurement and billing friction. These are platform capability claims; the available material does not quantify time savings or show independently measured reductions in buying or deployment costs.

What the adoption and monetization claims do—and do not—show

The announcements explain how Salesforce intends the marketplace to work: customers discover reusable components and ecosystem solutions; partners can distribute packaged offerings; and transaction tools can support commercial workflows. They do not establish marketplace conversion rates, customer ROI, savings, the quality of listings as a whole, or actual partner income. Salesforce’s figures—including its 2025 launch counts and its 2026 combined-marketplace totals—should therefore be read as company-reported descriptions tied to their dates and scopes, not independent evidence of outcomes.

For broader ecosystem context, Salesforce’s 2025 launch announcement said AppExchange had more than 13 million app installs. A separate Salesforce partner guide later described more than 14 million installs; those figures belong to their respective sources and dates and should not be blended into a single current count.
