USI says the facility can be paired with its existing excess property solution to provide up to $50 million in dedicated capacity for a single risk. That figure is combined capacity, not a stated limit for the new facility alone.
What USI announced
USI describes the Flex Property Facility as dedicated, A-rated property insurance capacity with flexible use across property placements or program structures. The announcement says Innovation Growth Partners Specialty (IGP Specialty), part of the USI family of companies, was heavily involved in developing and servicing the offering. USI did not name the participating insurance carriers or say who holds underwriting authority. USI’s October 1, 2026 announcement is the source for these product descriptions.
What coverage may be included
USI says placements may include coverage for flood, earthquake, named storm, equipment breakdown, and terrorism. These are possible coverage categories, not a promise that every policy or placement covers every peril. Actual protection depends on the terms agreed for the particular risk.
USI National Property Practice Leader Jeff Buyze said organizations need flexibility as well as capacity in the current property insurance market. That is USI’s characterization of the market, not an independent market statistic.

How to interpret the $50 million capacity figure
USI says clients may access up to $50 million of dedicated property capacity for a single risk when the Flex Property Facility is combined with USI’s existing excess property solution. The announcement does not state how much capacity comes from the Flex Property Facility by itself, or how the total is allocated among covered perils or layers. Treat the figure as a company-reported maximum, not an automatic limit or an estimate of what a particular property can obtain.
Who may be eligible
USI says the offering is exclusive to its commercial risk clients and available in all 50 states. This describes the stated reach of the facility; it does not establish that every client, property, or coverage request qualifies in every state. The announcement does not provide underwriting criteria or explain the application and placement process.

What to confirm before considering a placement
The launch announcement is not a policy form and leaves important coverage details unresolved. A business evaluating the facility should ask its USI representative to confirm the terms for its specific risk, including:
- Which perils are actually covered, and how the policy defines them.
- The capacity available from the Flex Property Facility alone and the amount, if any, supplied by the excess property solution.
- Limits and sublimits by peril, deductibles, exclusions, and any conditions that affect payment.
- Whether the property and requested coverage are eligible in its state.
- The identity of the insurer or insurers, and which entity has underwriting authority.
- Pricing and any placement-specific requirements.
USI Chairman and CEO Mike Sicard framed the launch as expanded coverage, while David Nikolai, IGP Specialty’s president of programs, emphasized service. Those statements describe the companies’ aims; they do not add policy guarantees beyond the terms issued for a placement.
