How to contact Coinbase through the Help Center
- Open help.coinbase.com by typing the address yourself.
- Sign in if you can.
- Under Get support with your issue, select the category that matches the problem.
- Choose the most specific issue.
- Under Contact us, select Live chat or Request a call if displayed.
- Save the case number, transcript and any follow-up instructions.
Labels can differ slightly between the website, mobile app, region, account type and issue category. If a callback option is missing, use chat or the email-support route generated by the same flow; do not substitute a number found elsewhere.

For U.S. and Canadian customers, Coinbase’s compromised-account page currently lists these numbers and 24/7 hours. Verify the live page immediately before dialing because numbers and availability can change.

These regional numbers are published on Coinbase’s account-compromise page. A toll-free number may not work from every country, and language support is region-specific.
How to use Coinbase live chat
Follow the Help Center path above and choose Live chat under Contact us. A bot or automated triage may appear before a human agent. Chat is useful for access problems, verification delays, pending transactions, payment-method questions and routine product support because the transcript creates a record.
Chat cannot reverse an irreversible blockchain transfer sent to the wrong address. Agents should never request your password, two-step-verification code, seed phrase, remote-device access or a transfer to a “safe” wallet. Coinbase’s anti-phishing rules are listed at its phishing guidance.

How to request a Coinbase callback
- Sign in to the Coinbase Help Center.
- Select Get support with your issue.
- Choose the relevant category and issue.
- Under Contact us, select Request a call if available.
- Complete the identity and callback instructions shown on screen.
- Keep the case number for follow-up.
Coinbase says callback availability can vary by region and issue. A call you requested through this flow is different from an unsolicited “security” call. Coinbase’s phishing guidance says that if you are disconnected during a customer-service call, an agent may call back within five minutes at the same number and re-verify identity with a security question. Caller ID is not proof of authenticity because numbers can be spoofed.
Can you email Coinbase?
Coinbase does not advertise one universal general-support inbox. If you cannot sign in, lost access to your email, forgot your password or lost two-step verification, start at the Help Center and use the email-support route offered for that issue. For phishing or impersonation reports, Coinbase identifies [email protected] as the appropriate address.
Do not assume addresses such as [email protected] or [email protected] are genuine merely because they look plausible. Begin at the official site instead.

Information to include
- Account email address, but never the password
- Case or reference number
- Exact error message and when it appeared
- Transaction hash, asset and blockchain network, if relevant
- Approximate date and time of events
- Screenshots with passwords, recovery codes, full addresses and other secrets redacted
- Device, operating system, app and browser details for technical issues
- A short, chronological description of what happened
Never include
- Password or two-step-verification code
- Wallet seed phrase or private key
- Full payment-card number
- Remote-access credentials or software access
If your Coinbase account is hacked or compromised
Lock the account before spending time on ordinary support. Then work through these steps:

- Secure the email account linked to Coinbase, including its password and 2FA.
- Change your Coinbase password from a trusted device.
- Revoke unfamiliar sessions or devices where that control is available.
- Contact Coinbase through the official Help Center or a verified regional number.
- Notify your bank or card issuer if fiat funds or payment details may be exposed.
- Preserve transaction hashes, wallet addresses, emails, texts, phone numbers and screenshots.
- Report the incident to appropriate authorities.
Coinbase says that after an account is unlocked, you must reset the password and crypto sends are paused for 24 hours. Prompt reporting does not guarantee reimbursement for losses under the U.S. User Agreement.
How to unlock a Coinbase account
- Sign in at Coinbase.com or open the Coinbase mobile app.
- Enter your email address and password.
- Complete two-step verification.
- Select Unlock account.
- Follow the on-screen identity and security prompts.
If the account was locked from the same device, a password reset may restore access immediately. A lock made from another device or by Coinbase may require identity verification. After successful completion, Coinbase displays Account secured and unlocked, requires a password reset and pauses crypto sends for 24 hours. Details are on the official account-compromise page.

How to spot fake Coinbase support
Coinbase support will not ask you to:
- Provide a password, 2FA code, seed phrase or private key
- Move crypto to a “safe,” “secure” or replacement wallet
- Send crypto for verification, recovery, insurance or unlocking
- Install unknown software or grant remote access
- Call an unknown number supplied by a caller or message
- Pay an “unlock fee” or Coinbase-branded insurance charge
Coinbase says it does not offer insurance products. Misspelled domains such as “c01nbase,” sponsored phone listings and social-media “recovery” accounts are common warning signs. More examples appear in Coinbase’s phishing guidance.
What to do after a fake call, text or email
- End the conversation and stop replying.
- Do not click links, install software or transfer crypto.
- Lock Coinbase if there is any possibility of account compromise.
- Email the details to [email protected].
- Save the message, sender address, phone number, wallet address and website URL.
- Contact your bank or payment provider if money or card details were exposed.
- Report the scam to the FTC, FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center, state attorney general and local law enforcement as appropriate.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau advises using trusted agency and financial-institution websites and warns that legitimate institutions do not ask you to send money to “protect” it.

Pending bank transfers, card payments, account restrictions and verification delays are ordinary support cases. A completed on-chain transfer sent to the wrong address is generally irreversible, so support cannot simply undo it. Report suspected unauthorized activity immediately through the account-compromise and support flows, but do not promise yourself a refund or asset recovery; Coinbase’s agreement says prompt reporting does not guarantee reimbursement.
Exchange support versus Coinbase Wallet
Identify the affected product before opening a case: Coinbase.com exchange account, Coinbase Wallet, Base, Card, Prime or a business account. Their Help Center articles and workflows may differ. A self-custody wallet’s recovery phrase is controlled by the user; Coinbase support cannot replace it and will never need you to disclose it.

How to file a formal Coinbase complaint
- Contact Coinbase Support through the official Help Center first.
- Keep the case number, transcript, emails and relevant evidence.
- If the issue remains unresolved, use Coinbase’s Submit a complaint or formal-complaint process linked from Coinbase Contact Us.
- Review the applicable state regulator instructions in the U.S. User Agreement for eligible money-transmission complaints.
A regulator can receive a complaint or investigate licensed activity, but cannot guarantee compensation or reverse an irreversible blockchain transaction.
