Uber Elite is Uber’s invitation-only, reservation-only luxury chauffeur service. Launched on March 12, 2026, it is currently publicly identified in Los Angeles and San Francisco, with other markets requiring confirmation in the app. Uber says Elite combines newer luxury vehicles, commercially licensed professional chauffeurs, optional airport baggage-claim meet-and-greet, amenities and 24/7 phone support. There is no published rate card, so the only reliable price is the trip-specific quote shown during booking.
For most riders, the financial question is not whether Elite is nicer than a standard ride. It is whether chauffeur-level airport handling and support justify an undisclosed premium over Uber Black, Uber Reserve or a local car service.

What Uber Elite actually is
Uber describes Elite as planned luxury ground transportation rather than a more expensive on-demand ride. Reservations must be made at least one hour ahead and up to 90 days in advance. The service is available through the Uber app, Uber Reserve and Uber for Business workflows.
Uber positions it for executives, frequent travelers, Uber Black power users, business customers and riders arranging important airport, meeting or special-event trips. Invitations initially prioritize frequent Black riders and Uber for Business clients. Elite is invitation-only, not a paid membership club; joining the waitlist does not guarantee admission or availability in a particular city.

Uber’s launch announcement is at Uber Newsroom, and the current product information is at Uber Elite.
Where Elite is available
At launch, Uber named Los Angeles and San Francisco. Uber’s current executive-travel information still identifies those two cities, while the launch announcement said New York City and additional U.S. and international markets would follow. Do not assume New York or nationwide availability: the app may restrict Elite by city, airport, pickup zone, account type and date.
Uber’s business page currently lists San Francisco and Los Angeles: Uber for Business executive rides.

What the fare includes
Uber says an Elite reservation includes the following service standards:
- A curated luxury sedan or SUV less than three years old.
- A commercially licensed professional chauffeur.
- Bottled water, phone chargers, mints and hand-sanitizing towelettes.
- Optional baggage-claim meet-and-greet for airport pickups, including luggage assistance.
- Special requests such as sparkling water or champagne where a partner can accommodate them. These are requests, not guaranteed inclusions.
- Premium 24/7 phone support and the ability to contact the chauffeur before pickup.
- Up to 15 minutes of complimentary waiting for standard pickups and up to 60 minutes for airport pickups, subject to applicable terms after that period.
Elite sedans seat up to four passengers. SUVs seat up to six, depending on the actual vehicle and the amount of luggage. Uber does not publish a universal make-and-model list, so a reservation does not guarantee a particular vehicle.
How airport meet-and-greet works
When making an airport reservation, select Meet and Greet if you want the chauffeur to meet you at baggage claim. Curbside pickup remains an option. The feature can be useful after an international arrival, for an executive carrying luggage or when the cost of a missed connection or meeting is high.

Meet-and-greet is optional, not automatic. Terminal access, meeting points and airport procedures vary, and the published 60-minute airport wait allowance is not unlimited.
How to book Uber Elite
- Open the Uber app and choose Reserve.
- Enter the pickup and destination.
- Set the date and time, within the one-hour-to-90-day window.
- Select Elite if it appears among the eligible options.
- Choose airport meet-and-greet when applicable, review vehicle capacity and pickup instructions, and inspect the fare.
- Confirm the reservation only after checking the cancellation, wait-time and trip terms shown in the app.
Business travelers can switch to a business profile. Executive assistants may book for an executive through Uber for Business delegate-booking tools, although a supported business setup may be required.

The absence of Elite can mean the account is not yet invited, the route is outside the service zone, no eligible vehicle is available, the business profile is unsupported, the date falls outside the reservation window or the product has not launched locally. Check the waitlist, try a supported date and pickup area, or compare Uber Black and Reserve instead. Uber does not promise immediate access to everyone who joins the waitlist.

Elite, Reserve and Business Black are different products
- Uber Reserve: an advance-scheduling layer for eligible Uber rides, not a chauffeur class by itself.
- Uber Business Black: a corporate premium option for meetings, dinners and executive travel.
- Uber Elite: the highest-touch of these options, adding Elite-specific chauffeurs, optional meet-and-greet, special requests and longer airport waiting time.
Uber describes Business Black in its business announcement. Choose Reserve when scheduling is the main need, Business Black for routine corporate premium travel, and Elite when airport handling or service coordination matters most.

Uber’s launch and Elite product pages do not publish a flat fare, membership fee, minimum spend or standard surcharge. The price appears for the specific trip in the reservation flow. It can vary with city, airport, distance, duration, vehicle type, time, availability, tolls and applicable wait or business-account terms.

Before committing, compare the Elite quote with Black, an eligible Reserve option and a reputable local chauffeur quote for the same itinerary. Uber says Reserve can lock in a price and avoid surges on its executive-travel page, but that statement should not be treated as a blanket guarantee for every Elite reservation; rely on the terms and fare displayed for your trip.
When Elite is financially sensible
Elite is a strong fit when:
- You can plan at least an hour ahead.
- An airport meet-and-greet would reduce stress or protect an important connection.
- A missed meeting, delayed executive or difficult airport handoff would cost more than the premium.
- An assistant or travel team needs delegate booking and centralized business handling.
- Pre-trip phone support and a newer vehicle matter more than minimizing the fare.
Black may be better when:
- You need a ride immediately.
- You want broader city coverage or a simpler premium trip.
- You do not need baggage-claim service or special handling.
- You prefer Black features such as temperature, conversation or luggage preferences.
A traditional chauffeur company may be better when:
- You need a named chauffeur and guaranteed vehicle assignment.
- The itinerary includes multiple stops, hourly service or complex routing.
- Your organization requires a transportation contract, dedicated account manager or detailed invoicing.
- You are traveling where Elite has not launched.
- You want an all-inclusive quote with clearly stated cancellation and waiting terms.
Important limits to check before paying
- Waitlist enrollment is not an invitation.
- City-level availability does not ensure service at a particular airport or suburb.
- Meet-and-greet and special requests require selection and feasible partner fulfillment.
- Up to six SUV passengers may not leave enough luggage capacity for six travelers.
- Uber does not publicly guarantee a specific chauffeur, vehicle model, route time or absolute on-time arrival.
- Cancellation rules, charges after complimentary waiting and airport meeting procedures should be read in the reservation screen.
Bottom line for personal and corporate travelers
Uber Elite is meaningfully more than a polished Black reservation: Uber adds professional chauffeur standards, optional baggage-claim service, curated vehicle age, amenities, special requests and phone support. Its trade-off is selectivity, advance planning, limited public availability and undisclosed trip pricing. Use it for a planned, high-stakes, high-touch journey; use Black for flexibility, Reserve for scheduling, and a traditional chauffeur company when guaranteed personnel, hourly service or contract-level control matters more.
