What is Turbo AI?
Turbo AI is an AI note-taking and study-material platform for the web, iOS, and Android. It is aimed mainly at students, though the company also promotes uses such as meetings and professional note-taking. You provide a recording, document, video, or notes; the service can turn that material into structured learning content. It is a study assistant, not a replacement for a teacher, textbook, or checking important facts against the original source. Turbo AI’s site and its Google Play listing describe the product and its advertised features.
TurboLearn AI is the former name
The product was previously called TurboLearn AI and now uses the Turbo AI name and turbo.ai domain. The company says the rebrand did not change accounts, user data, mobile apps, pricing, or core features, and that existing TurboLearn links redirect. Turbo AI’s rebrand notice explains the change.

Is Turbo AI free?
Yes. Turbo AI says its free tier includes note generation, flashcards, and quizzes. Its public homepage does not specify a dependable number of uploads, recording minutes, document limits, or AI generations, so do not assume that free use is unlimited. App-store reviewers report encountering paywalls after limited use, but those accounts do not establish a universal quota; access may vary by account, platform, offer, and date. On the pages opened for this review, the Google Play listing displayed about 4.7 stars and roughly 293,000 reviews; another view showed roughly 318,000. The US App Store listing showed 4.8 stars and approximately 33,000 ratings. These counts and scores change over time and may include responses to earlier versions under the TurboLearn name. Turbo AI’s homepage also promotes a 4.8-star claim and selected testimonials; that is a company-presented figure, not the same thing as an independently displayed store rating. Check the current Google Play listing, US App Store listing, and company homepage for their respective current displays.

How accurate are Turbo AI’s notes and quizzes?
AI-generated notes, summaries, answers, and quizzes can mishear speech, drop context, misread diagrams or tables, or produce an incorrect formula or answer. Technical vocabulary, accents, multiple speakers, and poor-quality source files can make checking especially important. Turbo AI’s terms do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, correctness, or uninterrupted availability of its service.
- Compare notes with the original recording, slides, or assigned reading before using them to study.
- Check every formula, date, citation, technical term, and generated quiz answer.
- Treat generated questions as practice aids, not authoritative answer keys.
- Do not use the service as the sole source for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical information.
Privacy: what should you avoid uploading?
Turbo AI’s terms prohibit uploading or transmitting specified sensitive or confidential information. Examples include government identification, financial account or payment-card data, health information, biometric data, precise geolocation, credentials, information protected by a nondisclosure obligation, and certain information involving minors. Do not upload confidential lectures, patient details, employer data, private interviews, or protected student records unless you have confirmed the applicable terms and obtained any required institutional approval. Google Play’s developer-provided data disclosures say data is encrypted in transit, no data is shared with third parties, and users can request deletion; the listing also says the app may collect personal information, audio, and other data. These are developer disclosures, not an independent privacy audit. Review the current Play listing and applicable terms before sending material you would not want stored or processed.

Cancel through the platform that bills you
Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled. Turbo AI’s terms say web subscribers can use account settings and choose Manage Billing or Cancel. The terms require cancellation at least 24 hours before the end of the current term to avoid the next renewal; premium access continues through the paid period, after which the account returns to the free tier. If you subscribed through Apple or Google Play, manage cancellation through that store rather than assuming a web cancellation will stop store billing. The route can depend on where you purchased; consult Turbo AI’s terms and the billing account used for the subscription.
Refund limits
Turbo AI’s terms say fees are generally non-refundable and non-creditable except where the law requires otherwise. They describe a possible refund for the unused remainder of a prepaid subscription if a technical malfunction cannot be resolved, subject to the terms’ process and timing. A purchase made through Apple or Google Play is also subject to that store’s refund process; do not assume Turbo AI’s policy guarantees a store refund. A card dispute is not a guaranteed remedy. Read the terms of service and contact the billing provider for the purchase in question.
Protect your notes before downgrading
Turbo AI’s terms place responsibility on users to export their data before account termination or deletion. Save important notes, recordings, and study materials somewhere you control before closing an account or relying on continued access after a plan change.

The service is offered on web, Android, and iOS, but price, free limits, recording behavior, feature availability, synchronization, and billing flow may differ by platform. The US iOS listing specifies iOS and iPadOS 16.4 or later; Google Play showed an app update dated August 12, 2026. Confirm the requirements and current listing for the device you plan to use: Apple listing and Google Play listing.
Before recording an important class, test whether the app continues recording when locked or moved to the background on your device. Keep a separate recording or original file when possible, and do not delete it until the notes have generated, been checked, and been exported. This is especially prudent because reviewers have reported interruptions and stalled generation.
Alternatives to Turbo AI by use case
These are options to investigate, not a claim that one is better in a head-to-head test. Choose based on the job you need done:

Before buying, establish what the app will charge your account and whether it handles your actual course workflow reliably.
