TSM is the New York Stock Exchange ticker for American Depositary Shares of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC). TSMC is a semiconductor foundry: customers design chips, and TSMC manufactures them. Its common shares trade in Taiwan as 2330.

What is TSMC?

TSMC is a manufacturing-services company focused on semiconductors. In its dedicated-foundry model, customers provide integrated-circuit designs and TSMC produces chips using its manufacturing processes. The company says it does not market semiconductor products under its own name.

Its stated services extend beyond wafer fabrication to design support, mask making, advanced packaging and testing. These services support customer-designed chips rather than a line of TSMC-branded consumer devices.

These are distinct securities and listings for the same company; a ticker alone does not tell you a share’s current price, valuation or suitability for your circumstances. TSMC investor stock FAQs
