World Liberty Financial (WLF) is not simply open or closed to Americans. Its historical WLFI token offering in the United States was limited to accredited investors, while current terms say access to its Dolomite lending and borrowing service may be restricted in New York and certain other U.S. states. Those limits apply to different products at different times; they do not establish that every American is barred from every WLF service or from trading WLFI.
What “open” means for World Liberty Financial
World Liberty Financial’s current website presents several distinct offerings: the WLFI token, governance tools, USD1, and WLFI Markets, an asset-supply and borrowing service provided by Dolomite. It also describes token bridging and conversion tools, and labels its app “Coming Soon.” These are company descriptions of its offerings, not independent verification of their performance or safety. World Liberty Financial’s homepage
It helps to separate three questions: whether someone could participate in a particular token sale, whether they can access a current website or service from their location, and whether they can use a token or protocol through another venue. A restriction attached to one of those does not automatically answer the others.
Which WLF products have access restrictions?
Historical WLFI token offering
WLF’s offering document says its U.S. WLFI token offering was limited to people who qualified as accredited investors. That was a substantial eligibility restriction on that offering. It is not evidence that the same rule governs every current product or all present-day WLFI trading. World Liberty Financial offering document

Current Dolomite services
The current trade-page terms say access to Dolomite may be restricted and that the service is not actively marketed in Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Indonesia, New York and certain other U.S. states, the Philippines, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and jurisdictions where applicable law does not permit it. The indexed terms reviewed here do not specify the other U.S. states, so a complete state-by-state list cannot be given. The terms also say interface-blocking arrangements may change. Check the current terms for your location and the specific service before attempting to use it. World Liberty Financial trade-page terms
Other services and token trading
The company says WLFI is tradable, but that statement alone does not establish that every trading venue, product, or transaction is available to every U.S. resident. Nor does the Dolomite restriction prove that all other WLF features are unavailable in the listed places. Eligibility and access need to be checked product by product, under the applicable terms and law.

What WLFI ownership does—and does not—provide
An SEC-filed company disclosure describes WLFI as a governance token. It says holding WLFI does not provide rights to dividends, rewards, airdrops, other distributions, or income. The filing describes governance participation as involving registration to discuss proposals and connecting a token wallet to Snapshot to vote. This is a description in a company filing, not an SEC endorsement. SEC-filed disclosure
The filing also identifies risks that include market, technology, and regulatory factors. It says digital assets may not be covered by FDIC or SIPC insurance and warns that losing or compromising private keys can permanently prevent access to tokens. A wallet used to connect for governance therefore brings custody responsibility; a hardware wallet is one possible custody option, not a WLF requirement or a guarantee against loss. USD1, reserve disclosures, and affiliated interests
WLF describes USD1 as a U.S. dollar stablecoin. The Associated Press reported in March 2025 that the company planned a token pegged one-to-one with the dollar. A stated dollar peg is not by itself proof of reserve quality, redemption access, or independent verification. Associated Press report on USD1
World Liberty Financial says its reserve reports are published monthly. Its disclosures also state that an entity affiliated with Trump and certain family members has an indirect economic interest through approximately 38% beneficial ownership of an affiliate entitled to interest earned on USD1 reserve assets held or maintained by BitGo. These are company-reported statements; the existence of monthly reports does not, on its own, establish the reserves’ quality or independence. World Liberty Financial USD1 disclosures

Separately, AP reported in March 2025 that terms then outlined on the company website gave a Trump-owned company the “right to receive 75% of the net protocol revenues” after expenses. That figure describes terms reported at that time; it should not be treated as verified current compensation. WLF’s homepage, accessed October 4, 2026, states that Trump holds 22.5 billion WLFI tokens. These figures describe different interests and cannot be combined into an estimate of current personal income or total wealth. Associated Press report World Liberty Financial homepage

Axios reported on August 18, 2026, that the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency had given preliminary approval for affiliated World Liberty Trust Company to obtain a national trust bank charter. The report said the company would not take deposits, offer checking or savings accounts, or carry FDIC insurance, and that final approval remained contingent on capital and other pre-opening requirements. That is a preliminary charter development, not evidence of an operating retail bank. Axios report on preliminary approval

How to assess access before using a WLF product
- Identify the product. Determine whether you mean the historical WLFI offering, present-day token trading, governance, USD1, or Dolomite lending and borrowing.
- Check your location against that product’s current terms. In particular, the trade-page terms flag New York and certain other U.S. states for Dolomite; the other states are not specified in the indexed terms described here.
- Distinguish eligibility from interface access. A past accredited-investor condition for a U.S. token offering is not a universal statement about later trading or every service.
- Understand token rights and custody risks. WLFI is described as a governance token, not an entitlement to income or distributions, and the filing warns about market, technology, regulatory, and private-key risks.
