Tracy Tutor Leaves Douglas Elliman for Compass as Million Dollar Listing L.A. Co-Stars Exit

Tracy Tutor joined Compass from Douglas Elliman with her 18-person team in January 2025. The Altmans’ exit and TMZ’s later report of a production pause were separate developments.

Tracy Tutor left Douglas Elliman for Compass with her 18-person team, Inman reported on January 7, 2025. Separately, Josh and Heather Altman said they would leave Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles after Season 15. The brokerage move and the Altmans’ departure were distinct events; neither establishes why the show later paused production.

Why Tracy Tutor left Douglas Elliman for Compass

Tutor had been with Douglas Elliman since 2014, according to Inman. Announcing her move to Compass on January 7, 2025, she said: “My brand has always been rooted in innovation and growth, and joining Compass aligns with my vision for the future of my business.” Inman also reported that she hoped to expand into additional markets while strengthening her presence in California and Texas. Her statement describes her own business rationale; it does not establish that one brokerage was objectively better for agents or clients.

At the time of the announcement, Inman described Tutor’s group as an 18-person team, with more than $4.5 billion in career sales and nearly $550 million in listings. The listing figure was attributed to the announcement press release. These are figures reported in 2025, not verified current totals. Inman’s report on the move also quoted Compass CEO and founder Robert Reffkin welcoming her, while a Douglas Elliman representative wished her well.

When the Altmans left Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles

Season 15 wrapped in September 2024, Bravo later reported. On October 31, 2024, TMZ reported that Josh and Heather Altman planned to leave the series after that season. TMZ said the couple wanted more time with their children without cameras around all the time; that explanation is entertainment reporting, not an official Bravo statement.

What is known about the show’s status

On March 13, 2025, TMZ reported that production was paused after 15 seasons. The outlet said the show had not been officially canceled, so “paused” is the supported description as of that report—not a confirmed cancellation or a confirmed renewal. The Altmans’ exit was announced separately, and the available reporting does not show that it caused the pause. TMZ’s Million Dollar Listing coverage is the source for both the departure and pause reports.

Tutor’s later television move

In August 2026, Bravo reported that Tutor had joined Season 16 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Bravo also noted that she had appeared on Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles through Season 15. Her move to another Bravo series is a later career development, separate from both her 2025 brokerage switch and the Altmans’ decision to leave the real-estate show. Bravo’s Season 16 announcement covers the casting news.

What the brokerage change does—and does not—tell clients

A high-profile agent’s firm affiliation is not, by itself, evidence that a client’s transaction terms, service, or results will improve. Tutor’s announcement gives her stated goals and the team’s reported scale, but it does not provide a like-for-like comparison of Douglas Elliman and Compass services, fees, or outcomes. For a buyer or seller evaluating representation, the practical questions remain the agent’s local experience, proposed marketing or search plan, communication, and the written terms of the agreement.

For readers interested in Tutor beyond her television work, Bravo and Inman identify her 2020 book as Fear Is Just a Four-Letter Word: How to Develop the Unstoppable Confidence to Own Any Room. It offers a separate perspective on her public-facing career, not an explanation for the brokerage move.
