Droid Life reported on November 21, 2025, that selected Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL configurations were $749 before tax. The best-value configuration at that price was the 256GB Pixel 9 Pro; the XL offer was for 128GB. As of August 18, 2026, the available information does not establish that either model is still $749, so check the live listing before treating it as a current deal.
What the original $350-off deal included
Droid Life reported that Google and retail partners were discounting selected Pixel 9 Pro models by $350 for Black Friday 2025. The report linked to Amazon and the Google Store, but did not establish a sale end date. Its $749 price was an advertised pre-tax price, not a guaranteed checkout total or a price verified for August 2026. Read the November 21, 2025 deal report.
| Device | Configuration described | Reported price | Reported discount |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pixel 9 Pro | 256GB | $749 | $350 |
| Pixel 9 Pro XL | 128GB | $749 | $350 |
| Pixel 9 Pro | 128GB, if available | $649 potential price | $350 |
The 128GB Pixel 9 Pro’s $649 figure was the price implied by applying the same discount, not a claim that shoppers could readily find that configuration. Droid Life said its 128GB stock was nearly sold out. The report does not establish that the promotion required activation or a trade-in; check any current offer’s terms rather than assuming a carrier deal, financing credit, or store credit is equivalent to an immediate price reduction.
Which $749 model offered more for the money?
Choose the Pixel 9 Pro for storage
At the reported price, the standard Pro came with 256GB—twice the storage of the 128GB XL configuration. If you do not specifically want the larger XL form factor, the 256GB Pro was the stronger storage value on those terms.
#1 Best Overall
- 128gb of storage
- Includes charging cord and box
- Excellent cosmetic condition
Choose the Pixel 9 Pro XL for the larger format
The XL could make sense if its larger screen and chassis are what you want. The reported $749 offer, however, was for 128GB. Compare the exact storage tier and current price before deciding: the same price does not make these configurations equivalent.
Is a Pixel 9 Pro still worth buying in 2026?
It can be, if a new, suitable configuration is priced materially below a newer Pixel Pro and its hardware meets your needs. A 256GB model at the historically reported $749 price was compelling in November 2025; by August 2026, its value depends on today’s competing prices, condition, and remaining support period. The supplied deal report does not verify current prices for newer Pixels, so compare live listings rather than relying on the old discount as a benchmark.

- Consider the XL if the larger format is more important to you than getting twice the storage at the same historical price.
- Look elsewhere if the only listings are refurbished, imported, or from sellers with unclear terms, or if a newer model costs only modestly more.
How much software support remains?
Google says Pixel 8 and later phones receive seven years of operating-system and security updates, counted from when each model first became available on the Google Store in the U.S. The Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL are included. That period starts at original availability, not when you buy the phone, so it does not provide seven fresh years of support from a 2026 purchase. Google also says updates may roll out gradually and depend on the carrier and device; the policy does not promise that every future Pixel feature will be available on these models. See Google’s Pixel update policy. To check for an update on the phone, go to Settings → System → Software update.

What to check before you order
- Confirm the listing says new, not renewed, refurbished, or open-box.
- Verify the exact device: Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9, or Pixel 9 Pro Fold are different models.
- Check the storage capacity; do not assume the headline price applies to every configuration.
- Confirm it is a U.S. model compatible with your network, especially if buying from a marketplace seller.
- Check who sells and fulfills the order. The original report linked to Google Store and Amazon, but those links do not confirm current stock, seller, or price.
- Review the final checkout price, including tax and shipping, plus the return window and warranty terms.
- Determine whether the offer is an immediate discount or depends on trade-in, financing, activation, bill credits, or delayed store credit.
- Confirm the phone is unlocked if you are not buying under a carrier agreement.
- For a time-limited offer, save the listing and its terms so you can verify what was advertised if the price or conditions change.
