Liquor.com’s tested review, updated August 18, 2026, names the RIEDEL O Wine Tumbler Cabernet/Merlot its best overall stemless wine glass. The tester praised its comfortable proportions, easy swirling and light feel, but also called it fragile and advised careful handling. For frequent dishwasher use, Liquor.com points to the SCHOTT ZWIESEL Forté Universal Tumbler instead.
Those are the publication’s test findings, not results from independent testing for this article. The right pick depends on what you drink, how the glass feels in your hand, how you clean it and how much you want to spend.

What to look for in a stemless wine glass
Match the bowl to the wine—and your grip
Bowl shape affects how easy it is to swirl wine and how comfortable the glass is to hold. Liquor.com’s testers liked the proportions of the Cabernet/Merlot O tumbler, while they found the Pinot/Nebbiolo’s larger bowl awkward for some hands. If possible, consider both the glass’s width and its capacity rather than choosing by wine label alone.

Consider weight, fragility and cleaning
Lightness can make a glass pleasant to drink from, but delicate crystal calls for care. RIEDEL describes The O as machine-made crystal and says the collection is dishwasher safe. Its care guidance recommends positioning glasses so they do not touch other items in the dishwasher. Liquor.com’s practical warning about the Cabernet/Merlot glass being fragile does not mean the maker says it must be hand-washed.
For a dishwasher-oriented alternative, SCHOTT ZWIESEL identifies its Forté wine tumbler as dishwasher safe and made with Tritan Protect. Liquor.com also describes the Forté as resilient in dishwasher use, with a slightly heavier feel than the RIEDEL pick.

Think about temperature and portability
A stemless glass is held by its bowl, so your hand can transfer warmth to the wine; a stem lets you hold the glass without touching the bowl. That trade-off may matter more for some wines and settings than others. Insulated options such as the BrüMate Uncork’d XL and Eparé are a different category from ordinary wine crystal, and may suit outdoor sipping when portability or insulation matters more than a conventional wine-glass shape.
How the leading options differ
RIEDEL O Cabernet/Merlot: best overall in Liquor.com’s review
The tester valued this glass’s proportions, easy swirling and light feel, and recommended it. The review lists its capacity as 21 ounces. Its main drawback is handling: the reviewer calls it fragile, so it may not be the best choice if glasses are frequently knocked around or if you prefer sturdier-feeling drinkware. RIEDEL says The O is a stemless version of its varietal-specific glasses, introduced in 2004, and that the collection is dishwasher safe.

RIEDEL O Pinot/Nebbiolo: for lighter reds, if the bowl feels right
This model is designed for lighter-bodied, higher-acidity reds. Its wide bowl is the point, but can also be a disadvantage: Liquor.com’s testers found it large to hold and more difficult to swirl for some users. It is worth considering if the shape suits your wine and grip, not simply because a larger bowl sounds more versatile.
SCHOTT ZWIESEL Forté: a dishwasher-focused alternative
Liquor.com highlights the Forté Universal Tumbler for durability in repeated dishwasher use and lists its capacity as 19.1 ounces. The tester found it slightly heavier than the RIEDEL O. SCHOTT ZWIESEL’s product information labels the wine tumbler dishwasher safe and identifies Tritan Protect.

Bormioli Rocco Bodega Mini: compact and lower-cost
The Bodega Mini is the budget-minded, smaller-serving option in Liquor.com’s list, with a reported capacity of 13 ounces. Its compact bowl may be less comfortable for swirling and aroma expression than a larger wine glass. Choose it for size and price priorities, not for a roomy bowl.
Stölzle, BrüMate and Eparé: more specific use cases
Liquor.com includes the Stölzle Lausitz Power Stemless White Wine Glass as its white-wine option, but the review does not make it a universal replacement for every shape or preference. The BrüMate Uncork’d XL and Eparé insulated glass are aimed at outdoor sipping or insulation; they should be compared with each other as tumbler-style products, not treated as equivalent to conventional crystal wine glasses.

Which one should you choose?
- Choose the RIEDEL O Cabernet/Merlot if you want the review’s best overall pick and value a light glass that is easy to swirl, and you are comfortable handling it carefully.
- Consider the SCHOTT ZWIESEL Forté if dishwasher use and durability are higher priorities than the lightest feel.
- Try the RIEDEL O Pinot/Nebbiolo if you mainly drink lighter-bodied reds and its broad bowl feels manageable.
- Look at the Bormioli Rocco Bodega Mini if a smaller capacity and lower price matter more than swirling space.
- Compare the Stölzle, BrüMate or Eparé when your main need is a white-wine-specific shape, outdoor portability or insulation.
