What the 2025 roundup covered
Travel + Leisure said it had collected “40 of the best travel deals across the web, up to 82 percent off.” The offers mixed one-time merchandise prices with booking promotions whose value depended on destination, dates, inclusions and restrictions. The clearest product comparison was the Samsonite Freeform two-piece set at $200 against a stated $480 original price. For travel bookings, the headline percentage alone was not enough to determine the cheapest trip.

For cruises, price the complete itinerary rather than the fare shown in an advertisement. Check what is included for drinks, airfare, gratuities, excursions and transfers, then read cancellation and change terms. A second-guest discount can produce a different value from an equivalent reduction in the first passenger’s fare.

Package discounts can be conditional on minimum stays, selected departure dates, app use, membership status or a particular room-and-flight combination. Compare the package’s total after taxes and fees with separately booked components before treating the advertised saving as real value.
How to compare an advertised travel deal
- Match the trip. Use the same destination, dates, occupancy, cabin or room category and number of travelers in each quote.
- Calculate the all-in price. Include taxes, resort or destination fees, baggage, seat selection, port charges, gratuities, transfers and mandatory add-ons.
- Value credits realistically. Confirm where a food, spa, drink or activity credit can be used, its expiration date and whether unused value is forfeited.
- Read eligibility rules. Check membership, app-only, new-customer, minimum-night, selected-sailing and promotional-code requirements.
- Check flexibility. Compare cancellation, change, refund and price-adjustment policies before paying a nonrefundable fare.
- Verify the deadline and inventory. A promotion can end at a stated time or disappear earlier when limited rooms, sailings or product stock sell out.
Other sale activity reported for 2025
The roundup reported up to 40% off at Samsonite, up to 83% off selected REI items, up to 60% off Calpak, 25% off for new Béis customers with code EARLY25, and up to 50% off Travelpro. It also identified sale activity at the other retailers listed above, but did not attach a single comparable percentage to each one.

A separate Urban List roundup dated October 10, 2025 mentioned early travel-sale activity from Contiki and Flight Centre, plus luggage and accessory promotions from American Tourister, Anaconda, Antler and Samsonite, including a stated Samsonite saving of up to 40%. This corroborates that travel promotions were appearing before the main Black Friday weekend, but it does not make those offers current.
