The original article also said Amazon would automatically refund the difference if its price fell further during that Black Friday period. Its stated extended return deadline was January 31, 2025; that deadline has passed.

Which size was the best value?
Best percentage discount: 65 inches
At approximately 44.6% off, the 65-inch C4 had the steepest percentage reduction among the four reported sizes. Its $1,496 price also made it substantially larger than the 48- and 55-inch versions without reaching the 77-inch model’s price.
Largest dollar saving: 77 inches
The 77-inch television delivered the headline reduction—about $1,503 from the listed $3,699 price. That is the biggest dollar saving, but not automatically the best value: delivery, installation, wall mounting and damage returns are more complicated with a very large panel.
Lowest entry price: 48 inches
The 48-inch model was the only reported size below $1,000. It suits a bedroom, office or close-up gaming setup better than a large living room.
Balanced mainstream choice: 55 inches
The 55-inch size is easier to place in an average room, but its reported 35.2% discount was the smallest percentage reduction in the table.

What the LG C4 offers
LG identifies the C4 as a 2024 OLED evo 4K smart TV. Its official product information lists self-lit OLED pixels, the Alpha 9 AI Processor Gen7, AI picture processing, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode, webOS and LG Channels. LG also lists up to a 144Hz refresh rate, a claimed 0.1ms response time, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent test measurements. Picture quality considerations
OLED’s individually lit pixels can produce very deep blacks and high perceived contrast, which is particularly effective for films and games in a dim room. Reflections can be distracting in bright rooms. Prolonged, unusual static imagery can contribute to image retention or burn-in, so buyers who display fixed logos, desktop elements or news tickers for many hours should consider that risk rather than treating OLED as universally ideal.
Gaming considerations
The 144Hz capability is most relevant to compatible PC hardware. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X generally target up to 120Hz, so consoles will not use the full 144Hz ceiling. A compatible graphics card, game, HDMI cable and settings are required for higher refresh rates, and VRR and HDR behavior can vary by device. Confirm HDMI 2.1 and other inputs on the exact size and model listing.
Important qualifications about the original coverage
Only four sizes had reported prices
The deal article used broad language about every model being on sale, but it provided prices for 48-, 55-, 65- and 77-inch sets only. LG’s product page shows a wider C4 family that also includes 42-inch and 83-inch versions. Do not assume the reported discount applied to those unlisted sizes.

“Record low” needs attribution
Gizmodo reported the prices as the lowest Amazon prices it had seen at the time. The article did not publish a complete historical price series or methodology proving an all-retailer or all-time low. The safest description is “reported Amazon record lows in November 2024.”
Listed price is not the same as market value
The savings are measured against the original/listed prices supplied in the article. They do not prove that every retailer recently sold the televisions at those amounts or that the reduction was the lowest street price available.

Possibly, but only when remaining stock is meaningfully cheaper than a current equivalent. LG now identifies the C4 as an older model and points shoppers toward the newer C5. Its page displays historical manufacturer-listed prices of $1,599.99 for 48 inches, $1,999.99 for 55 inches, $2,699.99 for 65 inches, $3,699.99 for 77 inches and $5,399.99 for 83 inches, while warning that prices and availability vary. Those figures are not evidence of competitive current street pricing.
Compare the final C4 price with a current LG OLED, especially if the difference is small. A newer model may offer easier availability, current support and a full manufacturer warranty. Conversely, a genuine new C4 at a substantial clearance discount can still be attractive because its OLED picture and gaming feature set remain capable.

Checklist for an Amazon or marketplace listing
Before ordering a remaining C4, verify each item on the live listing:
- Exact model number, such as OLED65C4PUA, and the screen size.
- Condition: new, refurbished, used or open-box.
- Seller identity, fulfillment source and whether Amazon itself is selling the unit.
- U.S. model versus an imported regional model.
- Warranty eligibility and who handles service.
- Return deadline, return shipping responsibility and policies for dead pixels or panel damage.
- Delivery damage procedure, especially for 65- and 77-inch panels.
- Included stand, remote and power cable.
- Whether the displayed price requires a coupon, membership or checkout promotion.
- Whether the listing is for the television alone or a bundle.
Check the live Amazon destination at Amazon’s LG OLED C4 search page, but do not treat a search result as proof of a current price or stock status.
Room-size and ownership trade-offs
- 48 inches: Practical for smaller rooms and close gaming, but less immersive at typical sofa distances.
- 55 inches: A manageable choice for many rooms, though its historical discount was the least generous.
- 65 inches: The strongest historical percentage deal and often the most compelling cinema-size compromise; measure the room and viewing distance first.
- 77 inches: Best for a large room or dedicated theater, but transport, mounting and returns are more demanding.
Budget separately for a suitable wall mount, professional installation when appropriate and audio. Thin televisions have limited cabinet space for powerful speakers; a soundbar or receiver may be worthwhile. The original coverage specifically mentioned wireless Dolby Atmos transmission to compatible soundbars, but compatibility should be checked for the exact model.
Bottom line for a 2026 buyer
The deal was real historical coverage, not a live August 2026 Amazon price. The 65-inch C4 was the percentage-discount winner at about 44.6%, while the 77-inch model saved the most dollars at approximately $1,503. If you find remaining stock, verify condition, seller, warranty, delivery protection and returns, then compare the complete price with LG’s newer C5 before buying.
