T-Mobile’s reported new free-line offer is a conditional buy-one-get-one (BOGO) service promotion, not an unconditional extra line for every customer. Community reports identify it as “BOGO Service Promo with New Lines,” ID260677, with a reported start date of July 23, 2026. The promotion’s complete terms and current availability are not confirmed on T-Mobile’s publicly indexed offer page, so check the written terms attached to your account before adding lines.
What T-Mobile’s reported offer includes
According to community reports, the offer requires qualifying new voice lines and applies recurring bill credits to one line. Those reports call it “BOGO Service Promo with New Lines” and identify it as ID260677, reportedly starting July 23, 2026. They do not establish that the promotion is available to every customer, or confirm all its eligibility and credit terms.
T-Mobile’s official promotions page lists device and new-service deals, but the version reviewed did not clearly show ID260677 or a current standalone free-voice-line offer. A phone promotion that requires a new line is not the same thing as free service: it may discount the device while leaving the monthly service charge in place.
How the “free” line may work
With a BOGO service offer, the customer activates the required lines and receives credits against the charge for one of them. The discount is conditional: the line and account must continue to meet the offer’s requirements. Credits can take time to appear, and the available public information does not specify the credit amount, duration, or precise billing schedule for ID260677.

Community reports say that after the first year, customers may need to keep at least two paid voice lines along with the credited line. They also warn that the paid and free lines may be linked, so canceling the paid line could make the other line chargeable. These are reported conditions, not terms verified in a public T-Mobile offer document. Ask T-Mobile to confirm them for your account in writing.
Who may qualify
The available information does not establish the eligible plan families, minimum existing line count, port-in rules, recent-cancellation restrictions, or whether the offer is targeted. Do not assume that being an existing customer, a new customer, or a customer on a particular discount plan is enough to qualify.
Before accepting, confirm these account-specific details with T-Mobile:
- Whether your account is eligible and whether the offer is targeted to you.
- Which plans qualify and whether a plan change is required.
- How many new lines must be activated, whether they must be activated together, and whether they must be voice lines.
- Whether you must keep a minimum number of paid voice lines, and for how long.
- Whether prior free lines, recent cancellations, or other promotions affect eligibility.
- The monthly credit, when it starts, how long it lasts, and what happens if a credit is missing.
- Whether the offer can be combined with any device or service promotion you plan to use.
A separate “third line free” offer is often described as a multi-line-plan promotion rather than this BOGO structure. Secondary coverage discusses T-Mobile’s third-line-free offer, but it is not a substitute for current plan terms. Ask T-Mobile which specific offer appears on your account; do not treat the two promotions as interchangeable.

What can still cost money
A credited service charge does not necessarily make the line’s total cost zero. Taxes and regulatory fees may remain, and an activation or connection charge may apply. If you buy a phone, its payments, taxes on the device, insurance, accessories, and add-ons are separate from the service-line credit.
T-Mobile’s official promotion page describes device offers that use monthly credits and may require taxes or charges at purchase. Those device-promotion terms do not establish the conditions for ID260677, so check the exact service and device terms separately.
What can put the credit at risk
Promotional credits depend on the account continuing to satisfy the applicable terms. For this reported offer, the exact rules are not publicly confirmed. Ask specifically what happens if you:
- Cancel or port out either line in the BOGO pair.
- Reduce the account’s number of paid voice lines.
- Change plans, convert a voice line to a tablet or watch line, or otherwise change its type.
- Cancel the account or change its ownership.
- Make another line change that affects the account’s promotion eligibility.
Do not assume that adding a replacement line preserves the original offer. T-Mobile customer accounts can have different promotion terms, and community reports about plan migrations or credit displays are anecdotal rather than a universal rule.

Device financing is a separate potential complication. If a phone is attached to its own installment or bill-credit promotion, ask whether paying it off early, canceling its line, or changing the account affects those device credits. A free service line does not by itself make the phone free.

Compare the full added cost with the credits, not the headline value of one line. A useful calculation is:
Net added cost = required paid service + taxes and fees + activation charges + device costs − monthly promotional credit.
Also include any plan-price increase or discount you would lose by changing plans. The reported offer’s credit amount and any required plan are not confirmed, so use figures from T-Mobile’s written terms and your actual account quote—not an assumed monthly savings.

It may suit a household that needs the lines
The offer may be worthwhile if your household genuinely needs the required number of new voice lines, the qualifying plan is already a good fit, and you expect to keep the account and lines under the offer’s conditions. A useful line for a family member or another real need is more valuable than an extra line kept only to preserve a promotion.
It may be a poor fit if you need only one line
If you would add a paid line solely to unlock the credited one, calculate that paid service over the time you must keep it. The same caution applies if qualifying requires moving from a lower-cost plan, if you expect to switch carriers, or if your account already depends on other free-line or device credits.
How to verify the offer before you enroll
- Sign in to your T-Mobile account and check its Offers, Manage lines, or promotion area for the offer.
- Ask T-Mobile support to confirm the exact promotion name and ID, including whether ID260677 applies to your account.
- Request the complete terms in writing. Confirm qualifying plans, required paid lines, credit amount and duration, line-pairing rules, taxes and fees, activation charges, and the consequences of cancellations or plan changes.
- Save the terms, chat transcript, order confirmation, and screenshots showing the offer and selected lines.
- Review your first two bills for the expected credit. If it is missing, contact T-Mobile with the promotion ID and saved order records, and ask when the credit should begin and whether it will be applied retroactively.
For comparison, check the current terms for T-Mobile plans, Verizon unlimited plans, and AT&T wireless plans if you would need an unnecessary paid line or a plan change to qualify. Compare the total account cost and features, not just the promotional line.
A previous targeted T-Mobile free-line offer required an account with at least two voice lines and included limits on existing free lines and offer use. That promotion is marked expired, so it is historical context only, not evidence of ID260677’s current rules. Its archived terms are at T-Mobile Magenta Pulse.
