Valve’s published calendar lists the Steam Autumn Sale for October 1–8 and the Winter Sale for December 17, 2026–January 4, 2027, but no Black Friday event. The prices below are Autumn Sale offers reported by PC Gamer—not Black Friday deals—and should be checked on Steam before buying.
Is there a Steam Black Friday sale in 2026?
Not one listed on Valve’s published 2026 event calendar as of October 4. Valve lists the Autumn Sale and Winter Sale; it could announce other promotions later, so the absence of a scheduled event is not proof that no Black Friday promotion will happen. Valve’s Steamworks event schedule is the primary source for official seasonal-sale dates.
The currently scheduled Autumn Sale runs October 1–8 and ends at 10 a.m. Pacific, according to Valve’s Autumn Sale page. Those dates do not make its offers Black Friday deals.

| Game | Reported sale price | Previously listed price | What it is |
|---|---|---|---|
| Big Walk | $15.99 | $19.99 | Cooperative puzzle adventure |
| Stick it to the Stickman | $5.99 | $11.99 | Office-themed, one-button action game |
| Endless Legend 2 | $24.99 | $49.99 | Strategy game |
| Marathon | $23.99 | $39.99 | Game; the roundup does not establish a more specific description here |
| Solasta 2 | $31.48 | $62.98 | Early Access, turn-based RPG |
| Xenonauts 2 | $19.99 | $39.99 | Turn-based tactics game in the style of X-COM |
GamesRadar also reported Arc Raiders at $19.99 in the US and £17.49 in the UK, describing $20 as its lowest price at the time of publication. That is a dated, region-specific report, not a promise about the current listing. Check GamesRadar’s Autumn Sale guide and then verify the price in your own Steam store.
How to decide whether a discounted game is worth it
A lower price is useful only if the game fits what you want to play. Before buying, check the live listing for the regional price and edition, then consider the following:
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
- Genre and play style: Choose for the kind of experience you want—co-op puzzles, strategy, action, or turn-based role-playing and tactics are not interchangeable.
- Release stage: Solasta 2 is identified as an Early Access game in the roundup. Read the store page’s Early Access description and update notes if you are deciding whether its current state suits you.
- Player feedback and practical fit: Check Steam reviews, system requirements, and Steam Deck compatibility on the listing. Those details are not established for the games in the price roundup, so they should be assessed individually rather than assumed.
- Price history: A discount from the displayed former price does not establish that it is the game’s historical low. Consult a reliable price-history source if that distinction matters to you.
Why the Steam front page is not a quality ranking
Valve says seasonal-sale games may appear in Steam specials based on tags, popularity, and recommendation to users, and featured options can refresh during the event. A prominent placement is a discovery signal, not an independent quality rating. Valve also says a seasonal discount of 20% or more triggers an email notification to players who have the game on their wishlist. See Valve’s Steamworks seasonal-sale documentation for those rules.
SteamDB’s 2026 filtered count, as reported by PC Gamer during the Autumn Sale, was 44,048 games priced at $5 or less. That figure is a discovery starting point—not an official Valve statistic or evidence that the cheapest listings are good choices. PC Gamer reported the count and its SteamDB attribution.

What last year’s Black Friday prices can—and cannot—tell you
For historical context, Tom’s Guide’s November 2025 Black Friday roundup listed Red Dead Redemption 2 at $14, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at $3, Hogwarts Legacy at $7, F1 25 at $24, and EA Sports FC 26 at $34. Those were reported US-dollar prices in 2025, not evidence of 2026 discounts. See Tom’s Guide’s 2025 roundup.
Steam Deck hardware is a separate purchase from digital Steam game licenses. A report on a 2025 Steam Deck 256GB LCD Black Friday offer is historical precedent only; it does not establish a 2026 discount. Check the current product listing, model, region, and price if you are considering a handheld. Tom’s Guide reported the 2025 offer.
