Singapore-based cybersecurity startup StealthMole announced a US$7 million Series A in April 2024, led by Korea Investment Partners, with Hibiscus Fund and Smilegate Investment participating. The company said it would use the funding to expand geographically and develop more commercial uses for its AI-enabled dark-web intelligence and investigation platform. This is a historical funding announcement, not a newly raised round.

What StealthMole does

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Singapore, StealthMole describes itself as an AI-enabled dark-web intelligence and digital-investigation company. Its stated work includes monitoring threats, assessing risk, tracing criminal activity, and helping customers respond to emerging threats. TechCrunch reported that StealthMole also had an R&D office in South Korea.

According to SecurityWeek’s description of the platform, investigators can use it to trace relationships among data, visualize investigations, find compromised credentials, and identify organizations whose data appeared in dark- or deep-web leaks. These are reported capabilities, not independently tested results; the sources do not establish the platform’s detection accuracy or the completeness of its data coverage.

Why the company emphasizes Asia

StealthMole has positioned regional context as an advantage in interpreting illicit online activity across East and Southeast Asia. The company has said that Asia-specific data points and information networks are underrepresented, while TechCrunch reported that StealthMole saw value in local research and regional expertise. That market-gap assessment is the company’s view, not an independently measured finding.

As CTO Simon Choi told TechCrunch: “Having an R&D office in South Korea allows us to gain critical insights into how hackers from East Asia operate,” The regional focus describes the company’s positioning; it does not, on its own, demonstrate superior coverage or outcomes compared with other threat-intelligence providers.

Who invested and what the $7 million was for

StealthMole’s company-issued release, distributed through PR Newswire on April 2, 2024, said Korea Investment Partners led the US$7 million Series A, with Hibiscus Fund and Smilegate Investment participating. TechCrunch reported the round on March 27, 2024.

At the time, StealthMole said it planned to use the capital for global expansion and additional technology use cases. TechCrunch reported plans for more R&D centers, geographic expansion, and broader business-to-business applications. The company described its established market as business-to-government and said it was developing the technology for corporate needs. The available reporting does not verify which of those plans were later completed.

What was reported about customers and data scale

TechCrunch reported in 2024 that StealthMole had more than 50 clients across 17 countries, with customers primarily in government and law enforcement. This is a historical reported figure, not a current customer count or an audited result.

The company also published different data-scale figures in 2024. Its April funding release said it had analyzed 255 billion data points from dark-web, deep-web, and other hidden sources. A StealthMole presentation hosted by CyberSG said 270 billion analyzed data points had been collected since 2016. These figures come from separate company-origin materials; they should not be combined or treated as a verified current total.

What the announcement does—and does not—tell readers

The financing announcement indicates that investors backed StealthMole’s effort to expand a specialized cybersecurity platform beyond its reported government and law-enforcement base. For a business evaluating such software, the announcement is not a substitute for assessing source provenance, regional and language coverage, investigation workflow, integrations with existing security operations, procurement fit, and independently validated detection quality. The sources reviewed do not provide a like-for-like comparison with competing products.

The announcement also does not establish StealthMole’s present ownership, current operating status, current customer count, or product availability. Those details remain unverified in the available reporting.
