Slide announced a $25 million Series A on June 16, 2025, saying the money would fund platform development, operations, product expansion and a launch in Canada. CEO Michael Fass called the raise “proof that we’re in it for the long haul,” referring to plans to invest in people, infrastructure and partner support—not a guarantee of Slide’s future financial performance. Slide later announced a $70 million Series B in March 2026, so the 2025 round is not its latest funding milestone.
What is Slide?
Slide is a business continuity and disaster recovery (BCDR) company whose platform is built for managed service providers (MSPs), rather than for consumers seeking personal backup. Its June 2025 announcement described a platform combining hybrid cloud, server-workload protection and integrations with MSP tools. It named Backup Radar and Rewst as integrations and said the platform uses NVMe hardware and does not require long-term contracts. These are descriptions from the 2025 announcement, not independently verified or necessarily current product specifications.
That announcement also listed three appliances: the Z1, with a stated capacity range of 1–16 TB; the R1 rackmount model, up to 60 TB; and the B1 rackmount model, up to 150 TB. Those capacity figures describe configurations Slide cited in 2025; MSPs should confirm current availability and specifications directly with the company.
Who invested in Slide’s $25 million Series A?
Slide announced the round on June 16, 2025. Base10 Partners led it, with Outsiders Fund and Top Down Ventures participating. Base10 general partner Rexhi Dollaku characterized Slide as “reimagining a legacy space with deep empathy for MSPs and a relentless commitment to product excellence”; that is an investor’s assessment, not an independent evaluation of the platform.

What did Slide say it would do with the funding?
Slide said it planned to use the capital to scale platform development and operations, expand its product portfolio and launch in Canada, including a Canadian data center. The stated uses connect the financing to both product work and geographic expansion, rather than to a disclosed financial-performance target. The announcement did not establish revenue, valuation, market share or customer-count figures.
What did “in it for the long haul” mean for MSP partners?
CRN reported Fass’s explanation that Slide would invest in people, infrastructure and support so MSP partners could count on the company over time. The point was continuity of service and partner support: a BCDR provider is part of an MSP’s ability to protect clients and respond when systems fail, so the relationship depends on more than the initial product sale.

Co-founder Austin McChord called the funding “general gas in the tank,” saying it would let Slide respond to partners, make partner-first decisions and accelerate its roadmap. Fass also told CRN, “You grow by being better, by constantly chasing the best customer experience.” These statements describe the founders’ intentions. The funding announcement and comments do not, by themselves, prove long-term viability or guarantee any particular level of support.

On March 10, 2026, Slide announced a $70 million Series B led by General Catalyst. It said the new round would support the opening of a UK office and the launch of a German data center for EMEA partners. That later announcement also described Slide’s platform as having native encryption by default, an open API ecosystem and direct-to-tech support. Those are Slide’s own current product claims, not independently verified assessments. The Series B is a subsequent funding milestone; it does not change what the company said its 2025 Series A would fund.
