Bottom line: Sivers Semiconductors is a credible Swedish specialist supplying mmWave wireless and photonic components for satellite communications, defense, fixed wireless access, AI-data-center optics and LiDAR. Its 2025 sales growth and 2026 partnerships are meaningful, but the company remains deeply loss-making. As of August 18, 2026, Sivers is an intriguing, high-risk commercialization story—not an established profitable industry leader.
The phrase “2025’s leading wireless technology innovator” is marketing framing rather than a verified industry ranking. Sivers is broader than wireless: its two businesses are Sivers Wireless and Sivers Photonics.
What Sivers Semiconductors is
Sivers is headquartered in Sweden and listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. It designs and supplies specialized semiconductor and photonic components, modules and development solutions. It also works with foundries, manufacturers, equipment makers and OEMs. It generally does not sell complete satellite networks, 5G networks, autonomous-driving systems or data-center systems.
The company’s commercial model combines engineering and development programs with product sales. That distinction matters: a technical collaboration or evaluation can create a future design win, but it is not the same as recurring production revenue.

Sivers Wireless
Wireless products include mmWave RFICs, beamformer ICs, beamformer front-end ICs (BFICs), RF modules and Ka-band satellite-communications components. Applications include satellite terminals, fixed wireless access, 5G/6G infrastructure, defense communications, radar, electronic warfare and drones.
In a mmWave array, beamforming chips control the phase and amplitude of many antenna elements. Electronic steering helps compensate for high-frequency path loss and creates narrow, high-capacity links without mechanically moving the antenna. Sivers supplies enabling hardware; it does not operate the networks that use it.
Sivers Photonics
Photonics products include high-power distributed-feedback (DFB) lasers, DFB laser arrays, optical amplifiers and related light sources. A DFB laser uses a built-in grating to produce stable optical output at a defined wavelength. In an optical interconnect, that light carries data through fiber between processors, switches and other systems.
The same technology can be used in external light sources, pluggable and linear-pluggable optics, co-packaged or near-packaged optical systems, LiDAR and sensing. Manufacturing and partner relationships referenced in the 2025 annual report include WIN Semiconductors, O-Net Technologies and POET.

Why AI infrastructure is central to the investment case
- AI clusters connect large numbers of GPUs, CPUs and switches.
- As link speeds and distances rise, copper connections face increasing bandwidth, power, heat and reach constraints.
- Optical links move data as light, reducing some electrical transmission limitations.
- Lasers are the light source at the heart of those links.
- Sivers is positioning its laser arrays and amplifiers for several competing optical architectures.
This is an attractive market position, but it does not make Sivers a hyperscaler supplier by itself. Current evidence shows partnerships, reference designs, development work and customer engagement; it does not establish large, recurring hyperscaler volume.
GlobalFoundries collaboration
In June 2026, Sivers announced a collaboration with GlobalFoundries to place Sivers laser arrays in reference designs based on GlobalFoundries’ silicon-photonics platform and SCALE light-engine platform. The announcement mentions co-packaged optics (CPO), linear pluggable optics (LPO) and other data-center interconnect designs. This is a design-positioning milestone, not proof of high-volume deployment. Read the announcement.
Understanding Sivers’ optical architectures
Pluggable optics
A pluggable transceiver is a removable optical module attached to a switch or system. It is relatively serviceable and familiar to data-center operators, but electrical and thermal losses can increase as speeds rise.
Linear pluggable optics
LPO removes or simplifies some signal-processing functions to reduce power and latency. It can require tighter system-level control and does not automatically win every deployment.

Co-packaged and near-packaged optics
CPO places optical engines close to switching or processing silicon, shortening high-speed electrical paths. Near-packaged approaches seek similar proximity without putting every optical element inside one package. External-light-source designs keep the laser outside the hottest processor or switch package while delivering light to the optical engine.
O-Net and Enablence external light source
In March 2026, Sivers, O-Net and Enablence announced an external-light-source module combining Sivers laser arrays with Enablence’s NxN Star Coupler, with O-Net as ODM partner. The intended applications are scale-up and scale-out AI-data-center and high-performance-computing systems. The announcement does not establish mass production or recognized revenue. See the partnership announcement.
Jabil 1.6T collaboration
In April 2026, Sivers announced a collaboration with Jabil on a 1.6T linear-receive-optical pluggable module using Sivers DFB lasers. Sivers described a proposed 2.5-times lower energy footprint. That figure is a company-announced solution claim, not an independently verified field measurement. No named hyperscaler, production order, recurring revenue or Sivers share of eventual module economics was disclosed. Read the Jabil announcement.
2025 financial performance: growth without profitability
The corrected 2025 annual report is the appropriate basis for comparison. Sivers said the figures were adjusted after accounting and reporting work related to a potential U.S. dual listing. Adjustments involved revenue-period allocation, inventory valuation, share-based compensation assumptions and impairment of previously capitalized development expenditure. That does not by itself prove misconduct, but it is material reporting risk and makes the original February 2026 figures unsuitable for comparison with the corrected report.

SATCOM, defense and FWA
Sivers’ Wireless strategy emphasizes high-power and low-noise Ka-band beamformer components. ALL.SPACE reported a Technology Readiness Level 6 milestone for a user-terminal solution connected with the U.S. Army. Sivers has also described joint bids associated with Europe’s IRIS² program, an expanding U.S. defense pipeline and a CHIPS Act-related contract with the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition Hub. Development contracts, readiness milestones, evaluation, qualification, purchase orders and recognized revenue are separate events; none should be treated as interchangeable.
Daybreak and FR3
FR3 generally refers to spectrum between established mid-band 5G ranges and higher-frequency mmWave bands. The exact range and regulatory treatment vary by standards body, region and implementation. Daybreak’s general availability is a product-availability claim, not proof of deployment. Buyers should confirm part numbers, datasheets, evaluation kits and geographic availability directly.
Funding and financial durability
The 2025 annual report states that Sivers obtained a $12 million loan from a U.S. credit institution in May 2025 and completed a directed share issue of approximately SEK 108 million before transaction costs. These actions provided funding for growth but also highlight financing and dilution risk. Investors should track operating cash burn, future capital raises, debt terms, development spending and whether production ramps arrive before liquidity becomes constrained.
What could go wrong
- Technology: laser wavelength drift, inadequate optical power or efficiency, coupling loss, thermal problems, RF insertion loss, phase errors and qualification failures can prevent a design from reaching production.
- Manufacturing: yields, packaging, specialized materials and foundry capacity can limit scale even when the component works technically.
- Architecture: CPO, LPO, near-packaged optics, external-light-source designs and conventional pluggables may compete rather than grow together.
- Commercial timing: customers can finish development, delay a ramp, select another architecture or order at low volumes.
- Customer concentration: a small number of strategic programs may account for a large share of future revenue and bargaining power.
- Defense cycles: appropriations, procurement, export controls and qualification can move revenue between quarters or years.
- Reporting and valuation: the 2025 corrections require scrutiny, while a large pipeline relative to current sales increases the risk of narrative-driven valuation.
How to judge whether the story is working
- Look for named customers and binding production purchase orders rather than only collaboration announcements.
- Separate repeat product revenue from engineering or development revenue.
- Check quarterly product-revenue growth, gross-margin direction and operating cash usage.
- Look for repeat shipments from ALL.SPACE, defense customers and Tachyon Networks.
- Seek evidence of the Q4 2026 LiDAR ramp and revenue connected with GlobalFoundries, Jabil, O-Net, Enablence or POET programs.
- Monitor manufacturing capacity, yield, qualification and partner dependence.
- Follow disclosures about the potential U.S. dual listing; it was not complete as of August 18, 2026.
- Require clearer conversion of the $799 million pipeline into orders and revenue before treating it as validated demand.
Investor verdict
Sivers has a coherent technology position at several constrained interfaces: mmWave links, satellite terminals, defense radios, AI optical interconnects and LiDAR. Its wireless growth in 2025 and partner roster in 2026 provide credible commercialization catalysts. The company also supplies components that can be difficult to replace after qualification.

Much of the future case still depends on qualification, production ramps and customer decisions that had not yet become recurring revenue by August 18, 2026.
That makes Sivers a technically credible, strategically well-positioned niche supplier—but still a high-risk investment whose outcome depends on execution, financing and conversion of announced opportunities into profitable volume production.
