Janelle Brown’s Taeda Farms is a family flower-farm venture with her daughter Madison Brush and son-in-law Caleb Brush. The project was announced in 2024 as a farm being built from the ground up; updates on Taeda Farms’ own site in 2026 show land preparation and early flower-bed work, but do not confirm that the farm is selling flowers or admitting visitors.
What is Taeda Farms?
Brown introduced Taeda Farms in September 2024 as a family project with Madison and Caleb Brush. The stated goal is a flower farm, developed from raw land rather than an already established operation. The announcement invited supporters to follow the progress and used the motto “building beauty from the ground up.” Starcasm’s September 23, 2024 launch report covered the announcement and the family’s plans.
At launch, Starcasm reported that the family had acquired 156.4 acres in Chocowinity Township, Beaufort County, North Carolina. That is a property detail reported in 2024, not independent confirmation of present ownership, current operating scale, or how much land is being used for flowers.
Why is the farm called Taeda?
In the explanation relayed by Starcasm, Brown connected the name to “Taeda Pinus,” the Latin name for loblolly pine, and said taeda can mean “torch” or pinewood used for torches. This is Brown’s reported explanation for the name, rather than an independent linguistic assessment.

What progress has the family documented?
Land preparation
In an April 1, 2026 post on the Taeda Farms blog, Brown said a contractor had completed a second round of mulching. She wrote that smaller trees on the land were not worth harvesting for lumber, so the family chose to mulch them and leave the organic material on site. Brown called the venture “a passion project in the truest sense” and described it as a slow-moving lifelong dream.
Early flower beds
The Taeda Farms homepage links to posts dated August 4 and August 11, 2026 about getting the first flower beds in the ground and lessons from starting a flower farm on raw land. These updates show development work beyond the initial announcement, but do not establish a harvest, retail sales, or a regular public opening.

What can customers buy from Taeda Farms?
The official Taeda Farms shop lists branded shirts, cross-back aprons, and a cookbook bundle. These are merchandise offerings; the listings do not establish that the shop sells flowers grown on the farm. The store page also does not confirm Amazon availability or endorsement of third-party products. Starcasm reported that shirt demand briefly overwhelmed the operation around the 2024 launch, but that historical report says nothing about current inventory.

The public updates establish a flower-farm ambition, land-clearing work, and reported early flower-bed development. They do not confirm whether Taeda Farms currently sells cut flowers, welcomes visitors, hosts events, or operates on a regular public schedule. Those details should not be inferred from the farm’s mission or progress posts.
