The Shokz OpenRun Pro has previously been reported at $99.99 at Best Buy, but the retailer’s currently indexed product page shows $109.99. That page labels the price a “Black Friday in July Deal” and compares it with $159.99. So the below-$100 headline describes a past promotion, not a price confirmed as available now. Check the exact color, condition and checkout price before buying: Best Buy’s OpenRun Pro listing.
What was the Best Buy deal, and is it live now?
Digital Trends and TechRadar reported a $99.99 Best Buy offer for the OpenRun Pro during Black Friday promotions. Those reports establish a past price, not a current offer. The currently indexed Best Buy page lists the headphones at $109.99, so they are not below $100 at that listed price. The page carries “Black Friday in July Deal” labeling; that wording does not establish that the earlier Black Friday price remains available.
The indexed listing is for the original Shokz OpenRun Pro, not the newer OpenRun Pro 2. Best Buy’s page presents black, blue, pink and Steel Blue options, but the available price may differ by color or location. The available information does not establish which color, condition, seller or fulfillment method applied to the historical $99.99 offer, or whether it was available online and in stores. Treat it as a reported deal price, not a promise that every variant was sold new at that price.
Before ordering, confirm the exact model and color, whether the item is new or open-box, who sells and fulfills it, and whether shipping or pickup is available where you live. Check the final pre-tax price and any membership or coupon conditions at checkout. Search-result snippets can retain outdated prices, and local inventory can differ.

How much would you save?
| Price reference | Amount | Difference from the reference |
|---|---|---|
| Historical Best Buy deal reported by Digital Trends | $99.99 | $60, or about 37.5% below Best Buy’s $159.99 comparable value |
| Currently indexed Best Buy listing | $109.99 | $50, or about 31.3% below Best Buy’s $159.99 comparable value |
| Original Shokz launch price | $179.95 | Not the same comparison value as Best Buy’s $159.99 |
Best Buy’s $159.99 figure is a comparable value, not necessarily Shokz’s current manufacturer’s suggested price. Shokz listed the OpenRun Pro at $179.95 when it launched. The two reference prices describe different contexts and should not be treated as interchangeable. Historical deal coverage: Digital Trends and TechRadar.
What the OpenRun Pro offers
The original OpenRun Pro is a bone-conduction, open-ear sports headset. Its transducers sit against the cheekbones and leave the ear canals uncovered. That can make it easier to hear people and environmental sounds than with sealed earbuds, a useful trade-off for outdoor running, cycling, walking and some work settings. It does not isolate sound: traffic or gym noise can overwhelm music, and hearing ambient sound does not guarantee safety. Follow local rules and stay alert.

- Battery: Shokz rates it for up to 10 hours of music and calls. Actual runtime varies with volume, calls and conditions.
- Quick charge: Shokz says five minutes of charging can provide up to 1.5 hours of listening.
- Fit and controls: A titanium wraparound frame secures the headset, with physical controls.
- Weather resistance: IP55 protection is intended for dust and water splashes, not swimming or submersion.
- Calls and sound: It has dual noise-canceling microphones for calls and Shokz’s TurboPitch and bass-enhancing transducer features. Microphone noise reduction is not listener-facing active noise cancellation.
- Connections: The original model uses Bluetooth 5.1 and a proprietary magnetic charging connection, rather than USB-C.
- EQ: Shokz documentation lists Standard and Vocal Booster modes.
Open-ear bone conduction suits people who put fit and awareness ahead of isolation. It is a poor match if you want powerful bass, quiet listening on a plane or train, active noise cancellation for your own listening, a discreet earbud look or a swimming headset. Shokz positions the OpenSwim Pro separately for swimming: Shokz’s open-ear product guide.

| OpenRun Pro 2 | Someone who wants the newer generation, USB-C and longer rated runtime | Higher price than a sub-$100 deal; Shokz lists up to 12 hours of playback |
| OpenRun | Someone seeking a simpler running model, especially if it is materially cheaper | Up to eight hours of battery and a less premium feature set |
| Certified-refurbished OpenRun Pro | Someone who specifically wants this model and accepts refurbished condition | Shokz lists a one-year limited warranty, but the indexed page showed it sold out |
Buy at $99.99 or less
At that pre-tax price, a new unit sold by Best Buy is compelling if you want open-ear sports headphones, accept the original model’s magnetic charger and are satisfied with the available color. Verify that the offer is for a new unit, rather than an open-box listing, and that no required condition changes the final price.

Consider it at $109.99
That is still below Best Buy’s listed $159.99 comparable value, but it is not a sub-$100 deal. Buy if you need the headset now and prefer this model; otherwise compare the live prices of the standard OpenRun and OpenRun Pro 2 before deciding.
Wait or choose a different model
If your budget is firm at $100, wait for another verified sale rather than treating the indexed $109.99 price as qualifying. Above $120, the older Pro is harder to justify unless you particularly want its feature set. Choose the OpenRun Pro 2 if USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3, updated audio features or its up-to-12-hour manufacturer-rated battery matters enough to justify paying more. Choose the standard OpenRun if its current price is materially lower and up to eight hours is enough. For swimming, choose a model designed for that use.
