Samsung’s U.S. newsroom described its 2025 OLED lineup as the S95F, S90F and S85F families, with sizes reaching 83 inches. The announcement is background on the product range, not proof of a 2026 sale: Samsung’s 2025 OLED lineup announcement.
Samsung Week 2025 advertised savings of up to 36% on the S90F OLED, with promotional prices starting at $1,099.99: Samsung Week 2025. That historical promotion does not establish an August 2026 price or a 50% discount.

The current U.S. offers page has carried 50%-off language for installation and Samsung Care+. Unless the terms explicitly reduce the television’s own selling price, those services cannot be reported as a 50%-off OLED TV: Samsung TV and home-theater offers.

How to test whether “50% off” is real
- Identify the television SKU. Record the full model suffix and screen size. A discount on an S85F does not apply to an S90F or S95F.
- Separate the TV price from extras. Remove installation, Samsung Care+, soundbar value, trade-in credit and coupon savings from the calculation. Ask what amount is deducted from the TV line itself.
- Capture the reference price and dates. Note whether it is an MSRP, a previous selling price or a retailer’s temporary price. A launch MSRP that the TV rarely commanded can exaggerate the percentage.
- Calculate the effective discount. Use
(reference price − sale price) ÷ reference price × 100. For example, a $1,799.99 reference price and a $1,099.99 price would be about 38.9%, not 50%; both figures would also need to be confirmed for the same SKU and period. - Compare the recent market price. Check the lowest verified price in the previous 30–90 days and prices from authorized retailers. Include shipping, tax, delivery and installation in the delivered total.
- Read the terms at checkout. Confirm the end date, stock limits, eligible sizes, membership or code requirements, trade-in rules, financing conditions and return policy.
What “early Black Friday” can mean
The phrase is not a standardized Samsung category. It may describe a Samsung-branded preview, a retailer’s early campaign, a clearance event, a members-only price or a price guarantee. Do not label a promotion “Black Friday” unless Samsung or the retailer does so in its terms. Samsung Week 2025 was described as a promotion with up to 36% S90F savings, not as a 50%-off OLED-TV event.
Which Samsung OLED tier fits your budget?
S95F: premium features first
The S95F is Samsung’s premium OLED line and is positioned around stronger glare reduction, premium design and processing. It suits bright rooms, large-screen home theaters and buyers who value those refinements. Its higher price may not be justified in a dark room when an S90F is materially cheaper. Samsung TVs generally do not support Dolby Vision, a consideration for viewers invested in that format. Confirm specifications for the exact size.

S90F: likely value choice
The S90F can provide much of the higher-end Samsung OLED experience at a lower price than the S95F. Panel characteristics and features can vary by size and market, so verify brightness, HDMI inputs, gaming modes and anti-glare treatment for the exact U.S. SKU. Samsung has also announced gaming features such as NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility and up to 165Hz motion support on relevant 2025 models; availability is model- and size-specific: Samsung’s gaming announcement.
S85F: lowest price, fewer premium advantages
The S85F may be the sensible choice when price dominates, but it should not be treated as an S90F or S95F substitute. Lower brightness or fewer premium features can make a small price gap to the S90F worth paying. Confirm that the unit is new U.S. stock rather than clearance, open-box, refurbished or an international variant.

Buy now or wait?
Buy now when
- The final TV-only price is at or below a documented recent low.
- The exact model and size are in stock from Samsung or an authorized retailer.
- The return, replacement and warranty terms are clear.
- You need the television before November and the promotion has a credible price guarantee.
Wait when
- The 50% figure applies only to installation, Care+, a soundbar bundle or a conditional trade-in.
- The comparison uses MSRP rather than a recent selling price.
- The seller is an unknown marketplace merchant or the warranty is unclear.
- The model is being replaced, inventory is limited to an unpopular size, or the offer has no firm end date.
Fine print that can change the value
- Eligibility: U.S. offers may require a Samsung account, Shop app enrollment, a coupon, retailer membership or a qualifying product list.
- Trade-ins: Advertised savings may combine an instant markdown with a conditional credit that depends on the device and its condition.
- Stacking: Student, employee, financing, account and trade-in offers may not combine.
- Inventory: “While supplies last” language is especially important for 77- and 83-inch OLEDs.
- Delivery: Inspect large panels on arrival and understand the damage and replacement process.
- Usage: OLED is less suitable for constant static content such as signage, news tickers or a desktop left on all day because of burn-in risk.
- Geography: German Black Weeks documents (2025 terms and early-access terms) use different currencies, model codes and conditions and are not evidence of a U.S. offer.
Checkout checklist
- Write down the full model number, size and regional suffix.
- Screenshot the TV’s own price, the reference price and the promotion end date.
- Check whether the discount is automatic or requires a code, account, trade-in or financing.
- Price installation and a soundbar separately; do not count their value as a TV markdown.
- Verify seller authorization, warranty coverage, return window and restocking fees.
- Compare the delivered total with recent prices for the S90F, S95F, S85F and competing OLED or mini-LED models.
Verdict
There is no verified basis, in the available U.S. evidence, to say Samsung is offering its OLED televisions at 50% off for an early Black Friday sale. Treat the headline as unconfirmed until a live Samsung or retailer terms page shows the exact TV SKU, reference price, sale price, territory and dates. Buy when the TV-only total beats a recent low and the terms are solid; wait when the “50%” is a service discount, inflated MSRP comparison or conditional trade-in.
