Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteYes—the Galaxy S26 $500-off offer is real, but it is not a general Samsung.com discount. Mint Mobile advertises an instant $500 reduction on the Galaxy S26 lineup for new customers who buy a 12-month Unlimited plan for $180 upfront. For the base S26, Mint lists a $580 phone price; add the required plan and the minimum advertised commitment is about $760 before taxes and fees.
What Mint’s $500 Galaxy S26 deal includes
Mint advertises $500 in instant savings on the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The reduction applies to the phone at purchase rather than arriving as monthly bill credits. To qualify, new customers must bundle an eligible phone with a 12-month Mint Unlimited plan and pay the plan’s $180 charge upfront. Mint describes the promotion as limited time and does not provide a fixed end date on its offer page. See Mint’s current device offers and terms.
| Model | Mint displayed price before discount | Displayed price after $500 discount | Required service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S26 | $1,080 | $580 | 12-month Unlimited plan, $180 upfront |
| Galaxy S26+ | $1,280 | $780 | 12-month Unlimited plan, $180 upfront |
| Galaxy S26 Ultra | $1,480 | $980 | 12-month Unlimited plan, $180 upfront |
These are Mint’s displayed prices, not a claim that the listed pre-discount amount is the universal market price for every configuration. Mint’s product listing also shows a 512GB base Galaxy S26 at $600 after the discount. Check the configuration and final checkout total before ordering: taxes and fees are extra, and inventory or offer terms can change. View Mint’s Galaxy S26 product listing.
What the base Galaxy S26 costs after the required plan
The advertised $580 is the discounted phone price, not the whole amount a new Mint customer must commit to buy the phone under this offer. The required first year of service costs $180 upfront.

| Base S26 cost component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Mint displayed phone price before discount | $1,080 |
| Instant phone discount | −$500 |
| Phone price after discount | $580 |
| Required 12-month Unlimited plan | $180 |
| Minimum advertised phone-plus-plan commitment | Approximately $760 before taxes and fees |
The $180 is payment for service, not a rebate or part of the phone discount. The approximately $760 figure is the minimum advertised pre-tax outlay for the phone and required first-year plan; it is not a complete estimate of every buyer’s total cost of ownership. Compare it with what you would otherwise pay for service, including any activation or other fees shown at checkout.
Who qualifies—and who may want to skip it?
Mint presents this $500 offer as a new-customer promotion. Existing Mint customers should not assume they qualify; check the offer during checkout rather than cancelling service or attempting to rejoin without first confirming eligibility and considering account or number-porting consequences.

The offer is most compelling if you are new to Mint, are comfortable paying for a year upfront, and want the discount at purchase. It is a weaker fit if the required plan costs more than your current alternative, you need month-to-month flexibility, or you rely heavily on high-speed hotspot data or higher-quality video streaming. Mint’s Unlimited terms say speeds may be reduced in congested locations after more than 50GB of use in a month; the plan includes up to 20GB of hotspot data, and video streams in SD.
Mint’s trade-in offer is separate
Mint also advertises $400 or more in additional savings for an eligible unlocked trade-in. That is a separate benefit from the $500 instant phone discount, and the amount depends on the traded device and its condition. Mint says trade-ins are handled through Allstate and paid by check under the listed terms. The combined headline could reach $900 or more only if the customer qualifies for both offers and the trade-in receives the advertised value; it is not guaranteed for every buyer. Check the trade-in valuation and how it is paid before treating it as part of the purchase discount.

Check the phone lock and plan details before buying
- Unlocking: Mint says new devices are subject to its device-unlock policy. Do not assume the phone can be moved immediately to another carrier; review the current requirements before purchase.
- Usage: The plan’s congestion warning applies after 50GB of monthly use. Hotspot is limited to up to 20GB, and video is SD.
- Other promotions: Mint says the offer is not combinable with other promotions.
- Quantity and timing: Mint lists a limit of four devices per order and describes the offer as limited time.
- Taxes and fees: These are extra and are not included in the approximately $760 base-model calculation.
How the alternatives compare
| Option | Advertised offer | How the savings work | Key trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mint Mobile | $500 off the S26 lineup for new customers | Instant phone discount; requires a $180 upfront 12-month Unlimited plan | Annual service prepayment, Mint plan limits, and device subject to Mint’s unlock policy |
| Optimum Mobile | Up to $500 off Galaxy S26 or S26+ with Unlimited Max and code SAVE500MAX; $250 alternative with Unlimited and SAVE250UNL | 36 monthly bill credits; no trade-in required | Must maintain qualifying service and good standing to receive all credits; cancelling can end credits and leave a device balance due |
| Samsung.com | Trade-in-focused offers; no general current $500 no-trade-in base-S26 discount was verified | Offer value depends on live promotion and eligible trade-in | Final value changes with promotions and trade-in; confirm checkout terms |
Optimum: a possible fit if you can stay for three years
Optimum advertises up to $500 off the Galaxy S26 or S26+ without a trade-in for new and existing customers on Unlimited Max using code SAVE500MAX. Its $250 offer uses the Unlimited plan and code SAVE250UNL. Unlike Mint’s upfront phone reduction, Optimum distributes the savings as 36 monthly bill credits. You need to keep qualifying service and remain in good standing to receive the full amount; cancelling or changing plans can end future credits, and the remaining device balance may become due. Optimum says tax is charged on the pre-credit price. Its stated return period is 21 days, with a $50 restocking fee. Check Optimum’s phone offers and current terms.
This can make sense for an existing Optimum customer who expects to keep the qualifying plan throughout the credit period. It is less attractive if you may switch carriers or want the entire saving applied immediately.

Samsung direct: compare the live checkout, especially with a trade-in
Samsung’s US offer page is not showing the same straightforward $500 no-trade-in discount on the base S26. The retrieved promotion information showed varying trade-in amounts—up to $400 or $570 for the base model in different promotion captures—and a smaller no-trade-in discount. The listed July 6–19, 2026 promotion dates had passed by August 16, 2026, so those figures should not be treated as current prices. Samsung’s offers change, and trade-in or promotional discounts may have combination restrictions. Check Samsung’s live phone offers.
Buying direct may suit someone who wants to keep their current carrier, has a valuable eligible trade-in, or prioritizes a direct Samsung purchase. Compare the actual checkout total with the Mint phone-plus-plan commitment—not just the headline discount.

Other carrier offers need a terms check
Xfinity and Comcast Business pages have advertised S26 savings, but the available offer details vary by customer type, plan, porting, financing, and credit structure. Their offers are not directly comparable without checking the live terms for your account and location. Treat them as leads to verify rather than assuming the headline $500 means an immediate, unconditional price cut. Check Xfinity’s Samsung offers; check Comcast Business mobile offers.
Quick Recap
A practical way to decide
- Write down the full checkout amount. Include the discounted phone, required plan payment, taxes, fees, and any activation or upgrade charge.
- Compare service costs over the period you expect to stay. A discounted handset can be a poor deal if the required service costs more than your alternative.
- Identify when the discount is received. Mint applies its advertised $500 to the phone purchase; Optimum spreads its advertised savings over 36 bill credits.
- Check the obligations that matter to you. Confirm eligibility, plan terms, lock policy, data and hotspot limits, trade-in conditions, and what happens if you leave early.
- Compare the final totals, not the marketing number. Include a trade-in only after confirming the device qualifies and how its value will be paid.
