Its 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip and 200MP main camera are impressive, but the slim design leaves it with a 3,900mAh battery and no dedicated telephoto camera. Buy it for light weight and portability; choose the Galaxy S25+ or Ultra if endurance, zoom photography or value matters more.

What the “Edge” means
This is not a return to Samsung’s old curved-edge display phones. The S25 Edge has a conventional flat screen; “Edge” primarily describes the unusually slim body. Samsung positions it as a lighter alternative to the larger S25+ and S25 Ultra, with flagship internals rather than Ultra-level camera hardware.
Design, durability and display
At 5.8mm and 163g, the phone is easier to carry than many large-screen flagships. Samsung uses a titanium exterior and Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the front, according to its launch materials. Those materials do not establish drop resistance, so a case and screen protection remain sensible.

The 6.7-inch panel is QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X with adaptive refresh up to 120Hz, Vision Booster and adaptive color features. Samsung describes the diagonal as 6.7 inches across the full rectangle and approximately 6.5 inches when rounded corners and the camera cutout are excluded; these are different measurement conventions, not conflicting specifications. Samsung publishes the panel specifications but not independent brightness or color-accuracy testing on its product page.
Performance and software
The Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy and 12GB of RAM provide flagship-class hardware for everyday use, gaming, photography and Galaxy AI features. Performance is less of a question than endurance: the same chip must power a large, high-resolution display from a relatively small battery.
Galaxy AI functions, supported languages, account requirements and any future charges are governed by Samsung’s changing terms. Check the current product information and offer terms before assuming a feature is permanently free.
Camera system: high resolution, limited reach
Main and ultrawide cameras
The 200MP wide camera has optical image stabilization and an f/1.7 aperture; the 12MP ultrawide uses an f/2.2 aperture. Resolution alone does not guarantee better photos. When comparing phones, look at daylight detail, night scenes, motion handling, skin tones, portrait separation, video stabilization and recording resolutions under the same conditions.

Zoom
Samsung advertises up to 2x “optical quality” zoom and up to 10x AI or digital zoom. That wording does not mean the phone has a dedicated 2x or 5x telephoto lens. Cropped or computational zoom generally cannot provide the same reach as the Ultra’s separate telephoto cameras.
Selfies and video
The front camera is 12MP. Independent testing should determine autofocus behavior, stabilization, HDR, low-light results and the quality of 2x, 5x and 10x output; those outcomes cannot be inferred from the specification sheet.
Battery life and charging
The 3,900mAh typical battery is the S25 Edge’s central hardware compromise for a 6.7-inch QHD+ phone. Samsung lists up to 25W wired charging and says a 25W adapter can reach approximately 55% in around 30 minutes. A travel adapter is not included. Wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare are supported.
Real runtime depends on refresh rate, brightness, 5G signal, gaming, navigation, camera use, hotspot activity and background apps. Light users may manage a day more easily than heavy gamers or travelers, but a laboratory screen-on figure should not be treated as universal. Tom’s Guide’s review identifies battery endurance as a major compromise without making a single result applicable to every user. A power bank or lower refresh-rate setting may be useful for demanding days.

US price and storage choice
| Configuration | Price signal | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB unlocked | $1,099.99 | Launch pricing and Samsung’s current product-page signal |
| 512GB unlocked | $1,219.99 launch/MSRP signal; $1,299.99 displayed on Samsung’s current page | Check the live configuration before ordering |
Sources include the launch announcement, Samsung’s 256GB page, 512GB page and the March 2026 MSRP file. Prices exclude tax and can change by color, seller, financing and promotion.
Choose 256GB unless you routinely record large amounts of high-resolution video, keep extensive offline media or plan unusually long ownership. The 512GB version is worthwhile only when the actual premium fits your storage needs; its launch and current-page prices differ by $80.
Best ways to buy (US prices checked around August 16–18, 2026)
Unlocked through Samsung
Samsung’s unlocked page is the simplest route for carrier flexibility. Instant trade-in messaging has shown maximum credits of roughly $500–$530, depending on the active page and promotion. The credit is conditional on the old phone’s model, storage, condition and inspection, so it is not a universal sale price. See Samsung’s offer terms.
Samsung financing
Displayed 24-month examples were approximately $45.84 per month for 256GB and $54.17 for 512GB. Monthly payments do not by themselves show total cost, taxes, fees or eligibility; read the financing disclosure at checkout.

Carrier installment offers
Verizon listed the phone from about $30.55 per month for 36 months at 0% APR, subject to Verizon eligibility and terms: Verizon’s product page. A “free” or discounted phone generally means monthly bill credits over the installment period. Canceling service, changing plans or upgrading early can end remaining credits while the unpaid balance remains.

Best Buy’s category page lists Verizon and AT&T versions with activation-linked promotions. Exact prices vary by location, inventory, carrier, activation and trade-in. Do not label a listing the best deal without checking the model, total installment obligation and eligibility.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Galaxy S25 Edge versus alternatives
| Alternative | Why choose it | Where the Edge differs |
|---|---|---|
| Galaxy S25+ | Similar large-screen format and typically a more practical balance | Edge is thinner and lighter |
| Galaxy S25 Ultra | Dedicated zoom cameras, broader camera system and S Pen | Edge is substantially thinner and lighter and may cost less |
| Galaxy S25 | More compact and generally less expensive | Edge offers a larger QHD+ display |
| Used/refurbished Galaxy Ultra | Potentially stronger camera value per dollar | Check battery health, warranty, condition and returns |
| Other thin flagship phones | Direct portability competition | Compare US support, battery tests, cameras and network compatibility |
Samsung’s March 2026 MSRP document places the S25+ below the Edge’s 256GB price in its listed configurations, making discounts on the S25+ especially important to check. Samsung’s business specification sheet identifies S Pen functionality as an Ultra feature: Samsung specification sheet.
Who should buy it?
- Buy: if pocket comfort, a 6.7-inch QHD+ 120Hz display, flagship performance and Samsung software matter more than maximum endurance.
- Buy: if you mainly use the wide and ultrawide cameras and have a substantial trade-in discount.
- Skip: if you spend all day gaming, navigating, recording video, using a hotspot or working on 5G.
- Skip: if dedicated telephoto zoom, the best Samsung camera system or S Pen support is essential.
- Compare first: when the S25+ is discounted close to the Edge’s price, or when an Ultra promotion removes much of the premium.
Deal-verification checklist
- Confirm the exact storage, color and model: unlocked, Verizon, AT&T or another carrier edition.
- Calculate the total installment obligation, not just the monthly payment.
- Read trade-in conditions, including screen damage, locks, unpaid balances, model matching and inspection adjustments.
- Check whether credits require a specific plan and what happens if you cancel, upgrade or change carriers early.
- Verify taxes, activation fees, financing terms, return window and any restocking fee.
- For imported or refurbished phones, confirm US warranty coverage, eSIM and physical-SIM compatibility.
- Confirm that the charger is budgeted separately; the box includes the phone, data cable and ejection pin, not a travel adapter.
Verdict by price paid
At full price without a trade-in, the S25 Edge is a specialist purchase: you are paying for exceptional thinness and low weight while accepting a smaller battery and less versatile camera system. At a moderate discount, it makes sense for portability-focused Samsung buyers. A major, verified trade-in or carrier promotion can make it compelling, provided you value the required service commitment and calculate the credits correctly. If the S25+ is materially cheaper, it is usually the better all-round financial choice; choose the Ultra instead when zoom cameras or the S Pen justify its extra size and cost.
