Yes, you can order a complete desktop with a GeForce RTX 5090 in the US, but availability is uneven and prices are extreme. On August 16, 2026, the clearest manufacturer-direct options started around $5,999.99. Retailer pages also showed RTX 5090 desktops, although some were marketplace listings, location-dependent pickups, or workstation-class systems costing more than $10,000.
Prices, stock, delivery dates and seller status can change between this check and checkout. Treat the figures below as prices observed on August 16, 2026—not guaranteed quotes.

Where to look first
Manufacturer-direct stores
Start with Corsair, Alienware/Dell, MAINGEAR, CyberPowerPC, iBUYPOWER, Origin PC and Skytech. Buying direct generally makes the seller, warranty provider and configuration easier to identify. MAINGEAR’s official pages include the MG-1 Champion and Retro98 5090; quote a price or availability only when the live product page supplies it.
Large retailers and local pickup
Best Buy’s category includes HP OMEN, CLX, CyberPowerPC, Lenovo, MSI, Skytech and other brands. Its pickup controls do not establish availability until you select a store or ZIP code. Use the sale and pickup filter to check a specific location. Micro Center can be useful for urgent purchases, but store inventory must be checked directly rather than inferred from older availability reports; see the context reported by TechRadar.

Why a prebuilt can make financial sense
NVIDIA lists the desktop RTX 5090 at a $1,999 Founders Edition MSRP and specifies 32GB of GDDR7 memory on its official product page. Recent market reporting, however, found individual cards selling for about $4,000 or more, including orders cancelled or repriced after a supplier increase (Tom’s Hardware).
That makes a credible $5,800–$6,500 complete system potentially rational: it includes the GPU, processor, motherboard, memory, SSD, power supply, cooling, case, Windows, assembly and a warranty. Coverage has documented RTX 5090 PCs priced close to the card alone, including a $3,599 example and another under-$4,000 system. That comparison is not a guarantee that every prebuilt is good value: weak supporting parts or a large markup can erase the advantage.

Specifications to verify before paying
Confirm the exact graphics card
- The listing must say GeForce RTX 5090 desktop GPU and 32GB GDDR7.
- Exclude RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, RTX PRO 5000/6000 workstation products and vague “RTX 50-series” descriptions.
Balance the rest of the system
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Ryzen 9 9950X3D or Core Ultra 9 285K are sensible high-end pairings. Creators may prefer a workstation processor, while gaming-only buyers generally should not pay a premium for Threadripper-class parts.
- Memory: 32GB is a sensible minimum; target 64GB for a $6,000-plus machine. Choose 96GB or 128GB for a defined video, AI, simulation or heavily modded workload.
- Storage: Require at least a 2TB NVMe SSD and prefer 4TB or more at flagship prices. Check whether capacity is one drive or several smaller drives.
- Power: Confirm sufficient wattage for the exact GPU and CPU, a reputable PSU manufacturer, the modern native GPU power connector and an appropriate efficiency rating. Do not assume one wattage fits every board-partner card.
- Cooling and case: Look for 360mm liquid cooling or genuinely high-end air cooling, adequate intake and exhaust, GPU clearance and independently documented noise or thermal results when available. Proprietary cases and connectors can restrict upgrades.
How to judge the price
A practical target is an RTX 5090 with 64GB RAM, 2TB–4TB NVMe storage, a strong gaming CPU, transparent PSU and cooling specifications, and a price near the lowest credible direct or authorized-retailer listing. The observed $5,999.99 Corsair i5200 and $5,799.99 Best Buy CyberPowerPC listing establish useful comparison points, not universal fair prices.
Paying more can be defensible for a 9950X3D-class processor, 4TB–6TB storage, quieter cooling, a better motherboard or PSU, 64GB–128GB memory that your workload actually uses, or stronger support and warranty terms. RGB, unnecessary memory, slow bulk storage or a proprietary case alone rarely justify thousands more.

Checkout and marketplace safeguards
- Identify the actual seller, fulfillment party and warranty provider. A Best Buy domain does not prove Best Buy is the seller.
- Check whether the machine is new, refurbished, open-box or modified after manufacture.
- Verify the final cart price, tax, shipping, financing cost, extended warranty and any configuration surcharge.
- Confirm the promised ship date, pickup store or build time. Use “in stock” only for explicitly confirmed immediate shipment or pickup; “orderable,” “build-to-order” and “search result” are different statuses.
- Read the return window, restocking fee, return-shipping responsibility, dead-on-arrival coverage and RMA troubleshooting requirements. Confirm whether opening the case affects coverage.
Who should buy an RTX 5090 prebuilt
- Gamers targeting 4K high-refresh play and demanding ray tracing or path tracing.
- Streamers, video professionals, 3D artists and developers whose workloads benefit from 32GB of VRAM.
- AI, rendering and simulation users who need flagship GPU memory and throughput.
Who should skip it
Consider an RTX 5080 or lower-tier system if you mainly play at 1440p, use a standard-refresh monitor, do not run demanding creator or AI workloads, or would need to accept 16GB RAM, a 1TB SSD, an unknown PSU or weak cooling to afford the 5090. The right comparison is the complete system you can use, not the largest GPU you can technically purchase.
Bottom line
The most defensible current route is a reputable, clearly specified RTX 5090 prebuilt around $5,800–$6,500 with 64GB memory, at least 2TB of NVMe storage, a strong gaming CPU and transparent PSU and cooling details. Corsair’s $5,999.99 i5200 is the clearest direct-store price anchor found here. Treat more expensive systems as justified only when their components, service or workload fit are demonstrably better, and verify seller and availability details immediately before submitting payment.
