The notice, Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) 06/2024, advertised 3,445 vacancies. Its selection process has since moved through CBT-1 and CBT-2 to typing-test and document-verification updates in 2026. Candidates should use their regional RRB’s official website to check their result and next steps.
What the October 20, 2024 deadline means
RRB issued CEN 06/2024 on 20 September 2024, with online registration closing on 20 October 2024. That date is historical: this recruitment is not open for new applications. The notice covered Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) undergraduate-level posts. See the official CEN 06/2024 notification.
The vacancies were split across four job categories. The notification also listed each post’s 7th Central Pay Commission pay level, initial pay and medical standard:

These are the vacancy and pay details stated in the 2024 notice; they do not indicate a candidate’s chance of selection or final appointment.

Who was eligible under the notice
The stated baseline educational qualification was 12th (+2) or equivalent. The age band for this cycle was 18–33 years as of 1 January 2025, including a one-time three-year relaxation to the upper-age limit. Category-specific age relaxations and post-specific conditions are governed by the full notification; applicants needed to check the official notice rather than rely on the headline figures alone.
Selection stages and recruitment status
RRB records show CBT-1 was held from 7 August to 9 September 2025, followed by CBT-2 on 20 December 2025. Candidates were shortlisted for CBT-2 based on CBT-1 performance and their post preferences. Later notices covered candidates shortlisted for a computer-based typing skill test, with 13 February 2026 given as its tentative date, as well as CBT-II results and document-verification shortlisting during 2026. For posts requiring a typing test, final recommendation depends on qualifying that test, merit, post preference and medical fitness. A CBT result by itself does not guarantee appointment. Candidates should check their own RRB’s published result, cutoff and document-verification instructions; notice schedules can differ by board and candidate status.

- Open the official website of the RRB that handled your application, or use an official RRB notices page such as RRB Kolkata’s CEN 06/2024 page or the Railway Recruitment Control Board notice archive.
- Find CEN 06/2024 NTPC undergraduate updates and match the notice to your stage, such as CBT-II results, typing-test information or document-verification shortlisting.
- Follow the instructions and dates in the notice issued by your RRB. Do not assume that another regional board’s list or schedule applies to your application.
RRB Chandigarh cautions candidates to rely on official websites: “For any Notice/Information regarding Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), the candidates should visit official websites of RRBs only.” Treat anyone promising a railway job or a guaranteed result in exchange for payment as a warning sign.
