Eligible customers could use talk, text and data there without an additional daily Roam Like Home charge, subject to a 90-day-per-calendar-year roaming limit. The offer is historical: as of August 18, 2026, Rogers’ public plans are different, and the current Caribbean benefit is tied to other plan terms.
What Rogers changed in 2024
Rogers added selected Caribbean destinations to the roaming benefit on its 5G Infinite Premium plan. The February 29, 2024 announcement described the plan as $105 per month with 150GB of data and coverage in Canada, the United States and Mexico, expanded to include those selected destinations. The benefit was part of a specific plan, not a general reduction in Rogers’ international roaming rates. MobileSyrup’s February 2024 report gives the announcement’s price and data allowance; the available record does not establish whether $105 reflected discounts, taxes, Auto-Pay or bundle incentives.
What “included roaming” meant
For a customer on the qualifying plan and in an included destination, roaming meant using the plan’s talk, text and data allowances without the usual daily Roam Like Home fee. It was bundled into a paid monthly plan—not free service—and coverage and calling were still subject to local network conditions and plan rules. Rogers’ plan terms say included destinations may change and set limits on calling and texting. Being in an eligible destination did not make calls to every other country free; calls or texts outside the permitted scope could incur long-distance charges, as Rogers explains in its Travel Pass FAQs.
Roaming used the plan’s data
Rogers says a Travel Pass does not create a separate travel-data bucket: usage draws on the plan’s existing allowance. For the 150GB plan, that meant roaming data counted toward its data allowance. The cited plan terms say that after high-speed data is exhausted, data continues at speeds of up to 512 kbps until the billing cycle ends, subject to the terms. The roaming benefit also did not guarantee a particular network technology or speed abroad; performance depended on the local roaming partner.

The 90-day limit mattered for long stays
The 2024 report said customers could roam in the applicable destinations for no more than 90 days per calendar year. That is a limit on days roaming in those destinations—not a measure of how long someone held the plan—and it is counted by calendar year rather than billing cycle. A traveller spending several months in the Caribbean could therefore exceed the reported allowance even while continuing to pay for the plan. The precise terms attached to a customer’s line control; Rogers’ legal terms also reserve the right to add or remove destinations.
Which Caribbean destinations were covered?
The 2024 announcement referred to selected Caribbean destinations. The available contemporaneous information does not establish a verified destination-by-destination list, so a current list should not be treated as proof of what the historic plan included. Rogers’ current Caribbean & Mexico Travel Pass list covers destinations including Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, the Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Mexico, Montserrat, Saba, St. Barts, St. Eustatius, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Maarten, St. Martin, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, and the Turks and Caicos Islands. That list applies to the current Travel Pass, not automatically to the 2024 5G Infinite Premium benefit.

Is the $105 plan still available?
Rogers’ public lineup as of August 18, 2026, promotes 5G+ Popular and 5G+ Ultimate rather than the historic 5G Infinite Premium plan. Rogers describes the current prices as offers for new activations with a bring-your-own-phone device; taxes and eligibility conditions may affect the amount a customer pays. Legacy customers may have different plan names or benefits, so check the exact line in MyRogers or the plan-change agreement before relying on a roaming inclusion.

Land roaming does not cover cruise-ship networks
A Caribbean land-roaming benefit is not a promise of service on a ship at sea. Rogers lists separate U.S., Mexico and Caribbean cruise passes at $100 for seven days or $140 for 10 days. On eligible cruise networks, high-speed data is limited to 1GB per 24-hour period, after which speeds may be reduced to up to 512 kbps. A ship’s maritime network can have different charges from a land-based partner; see Rogers’ roaming options before sailing.
Check eligibility before travelling
- Confirm the exact plan. In MyRogers or the plan agreement, verify the name and roaming benefit attached to the line. Similar names do not mean identical coverage.
- Check the destination against that plan. Do not assume a destination on today’s Travel Pass list was included in the 2024 plan or is included in a legacy plan.
- Confirm roaming enrollment. Rogers says you can text TRAVEL to 222 to check enrollment. After arrival, enable data roaming only after confirming the applicable benefit and rates on Rogers’ roaming page.
- Watch for charges and usage. If the destination or plan is ineligible, you opt out of Roam Like Home, or you exceed an allowance, pay-per-use charges may apply. A welcome text should indicate applicable rates when Roam Like Home is unavailable or the plan is ineligible. Background app activity, backups and automatic updates can also use roaming data. Roaming charges can apply separately to each device that uses roaming on a line or account. Rogers also notes that plan changes can produce prorated charges and credits within a billing cycle.

When a plan or pass may make sense
A plan with roaming included may suit someone who visits covered destinations regularly, needs to keep a Canadian number, and expects usage to fit the plan’s allowance. Compare the actual monthly cost and eligibility requirements, not just the headline price. For an occasional trip, a short-term pass may avoid changing a monthly plan; Rogers lists Caribbean and Mexico passes in seven-, 14- and 30-day durations, though the referenced FAQ does not state every price. Travellers who mainly need data can also consider a local SIM or eSIM, but should check destination availability and whether keeping their usual number matters to them.
For current alternatives, Rogers lists a $120 international 30-day Travel Pass covering 180-plus destinations. This is a separate option, not the same as the 2024 plan benefit; check its current terms on the Rogers roaming page.
