The company later reported that the site passed ERCOT’s Controllable Load Resource qualification process in September 2025, a development it says could ease a utility-imposed limit on the facility. Those dates matter: this is not a newly launched 2026 site, and the company’s public claims about capacity, pricing and qualification are not all independently verified.
What Revolution Mining announced in March 2024
The company’s March 14, 2024 announcement described a 15 MW facility in West Texas connected to the ERCOT grid. Revolution Mining said it owned and operated the infrastructure and offered ASIC sales, hosting for customer-owned machines, and equipment bundled with hosting. The company also said customers could place orders as small as one ASIC and that it intended to expand capacity. The announcement did not disclose a town or street address. The launch announcement and the company’s facility page are company statements, not independent operating audits.
The launch materials listed Bitcoin, Kaspa, Litecoin, Dogecoin and Kadena as supported mining opportunities. A customer’s ASIC can mine only assets compatible with its hardware and algorithm; listing several coins does not mean one machine can mine all of them. Hosting generally means the operator supplies a site, power, cooling and related services for a customer’s equipment, while the customer retains exposure to mining revenue and hardware economics.
What “connected to ERCOT” means
ERCOT operates Texas’s main interconnected electricity grid and administers its wholesale electricity market. A facility’s connection to ERCOT does not, by itself, mean its electricity is free, guaranteed to be inexpensive, exclusively renewable, or available without interruption. Nor does grid connection automatically let the facility sell electricity back or establish that it has received a special certification.

Revolution Mining has described ERCOT’s generation mix as including conventional sources, wind and solar. That refers to the wider grid, not a facility-specific power contract or proof of hourly renewable matching. The available company materials do not establish the site’s particular electricity mix or emissions profile. Revolution Mining’s company page describes the site; it does not provide a facility-specific renewable-energy accounting record.
West Texas can be attractive for flexible electricity users because the region has substantial wind and solar generation and ERCOT’s market can reward loads that respond to changing grid conditions. It also brings operating exposure, including heat, dust, transmission congestion, volatile wholesale prices and possible curtailment. Grid responsiveness may help an operator manage power-market conditions, but it can mean machines run less than a customer expects.
What a 15 MW facility means in practice
Fifteen megawatts is a stated power capacity, not proof that 15 MW is continuously operating or available to customers. A mining site’s usable load can be lower because of utility restrictions, transformers and switchgear, cooling and networking loads, maintenance reserves, curtailment, and the equipment mix.

At a constant 15 MW draw, the arithmetic works out to 360 MWh per day, 10,950 MWh in a 30-day month, or 131,400 MWh in a 365-day year. These are illustrations of continuous full-load consumption, not measured figures for Revolution Mining’s facility.

That distinction is especially relevant here. In a September 24, 2025 announcement, Revolution Mining said its utility had previously limited the site to 2 MW and that passing ERCOT’s Controllable Load Resource process created a path to expand from that restriction. The company described the prospective change as a seven-fold expansion path; that does not establish that 15 MW is currently energized, deployed or available for new customer machines. The company’s CLR announcement is the source for the site-specific account.
What the hosting offer costs—and what remains unclear
The launch announcement advertised hosting at $0.069 per kilowatt-hour and a minimum order of one ASIC. It also promoted $250 off new ASIC purchases with the code “Revolution” at the time. That discount was a launch-era promotion, not a confirmed current offer. The syndication of the launch release records those historical terms.

Pages reviewed in August 2026 showed different current price signals. Revolution Mining’s hosting page listed Texas hosting at $0.075/kWh. Its Host Only page also listed $0.075/kWh, while separately stating that first-month electricity is billed at $0.079/kWh. These are website figures, not a guaranteed quote, and the pages do not explain the difference. The Host Only page also listed a $475-per-ASIC security deposit, a $385-per-ASIC setup and installation fee, and a $20-per-ASIC monthly support fee. It stated a one-year term with renewal options for one or two additional years, a 95% annual uptime claim, and support for air-cooled ASICs up to 3,800 watts. The hosting page indicated a minimum order of 1 kW. Hosting page · Host Only page.
Before treating any displayed rate as the cost of hosting, request a written quote and contract that specify:
- Whether the electricity figure is all-in, fixed for the term, or subject to market adjustments, and whether demand, transmission, ERCOT, utility or administrative charges are added.
- How curtailment is handled, including whether grid-directed reductions count as downtime and whether the customer receives any credit.
- Which services the rate includes: monitoring, networking, routine maintenance, repair labor, parts and shipping.
- Deposit, setup costs, taxes, insurance, loss allocation, cancellation rights and the process and cost for removing or shipping equipment.
- How uptime is calculated, the period over which it is measured, and exclusions for maintenance, grid events, force majeure or customer-caused outages.
- Whether the price is locked, what changes it, and whether the quoted terms apply to the customer’s machine type and location.
Why the 2025 ERCOT CLR milestone matters
A Controllable Load Resource (CLR) is a load that can change its electricity consumption in response to dispatch instructions and must meet applicable performance requirements. ERCOT’s public materials describe participation requirements that can involve qualification testing, telemetry and response performance; relevant rules also address Primary Frequency Response in applicable circumstances. See ERCOT’s Load Resource participation information, NOGRR263 and NPRR555.

Revolution Mining says its qualification work included tracking power targets at five-minute intervals, linear ramping, response to frequency events within seconds, Primary Frequency Response testing and live SCED validation. It also described an on-site control system integrated with OBM’s Foreman platform and Priority Power’s grid interface. These operational details, along with the site-specific qualification and the prior 2 MW utility limit, are company-reported. ERCOT’s public program materials explain CLR participation generally; they do not independently confirm this facility’s qualification or its available megawatts.
If a site can reliably adjust its load, that flexibility may help it respond to grid stress or market instructions and may support greater use of its interconnection capacity when utility and ERCOT requirements are met. It is not a guarantee of lower power costs, uninterrupted mining or a specific amount of capacity. A customer’s equipment can still face curtailment, downtime, power-price exposure, hardware obsolescence and changes in coin price or mining difficulty.

A hosting rate is only one input to a miner’s economics. Compare the contract’s full cost and operating terms with the expected output of the specific ASIC, rather than relying on a headline cents-per-kWh figure.

- Power cost: Calculate the bill using the all-in rate, any pass-throughs, fees and the machine’s actual draw.
- Hardware fit: Confirm algorithm, wattage, dimensions, voltage and plug type, and whether the equipment is air-cooled, hydro or immersion. The listed 3,800 W limit is specifically for air-cooled ASICs; do not assume larger or liquid-cooled units are accepted.
- Operating interruptions: Ask how planned maintenance, repairs, grid-directed curtailment and ordinary outages affect uptime and billing.
- Contract and exit: Understand the term, renewal, rate-change provisions, cancellation rights, removal costs and responsibility for shipping or lost equipment.
- Mining revenue: Model coin price, network difficulty, block subsidy and transaction fees, pool fees, repairs, taxes, depreciation and the machine’s resale value.
The website’s 95% annual uptime figure is a company claim, not an independently audited operating record in the materials reviewed. Ask for the contractual definition and exclusions rather than treating the percentage as a promise of mining profitability. Even when measured as stated, uptime alone says nothing about revenue per unit of electricity or the effect of curtailment.
Questions to settle before shipping an ASIC
- Get the facility address, the actual service location and the utility or interconnection constraints applicable to your proposed load.
- Request a signed quote that reconciles the $0.075/kWh listing with the $0.079/kWh first-month electricity line and itemizes every recurring and one-time charge.
- Confirm in writing that your exact model, wattage, cooling type, voltage and firmware are accepted.
- Review the uptime definition, repair turnaround, parts policy, insurance, custody and loss allocation, and the treatment of ERCOT or utility curtailment.
- Verify term, renewal, price-lock conditions, cancellation and retrieval process, including who pays for removal and shipping.
- Model profitability using realistic downtime and the full contract cost; do not assume that a lower advertised energy rate guarantees a positive return.
Revolution Mining says it owns and operates its site and does not use brokers, but prospective customers should still verify the contractual counterparty, facility obligations and remedies in the agreement. The reviewed public material does not provide a disclosed physical address or independent operating data sufficient to establish current customer-available capacity.
