1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor U.S. investors, three exchange-traded funds identified here offer quantum-computing exposure: Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM), WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM), and Defiance Daily Target 2X Long Pure Quantum ETF (QPUX). They are not interchangeable: QTUM is an established, broader index fund; WQTM is a newer ecosystem strategy; and QPUX uses leverage and derivatives to pursue a daily target. This is a current list informed by products available during 2025—not a list limited to funds that launched that year—and it does not establish a complete worldwide universe.
Which quantum computing ETFs can U.S. investors buy?
The three identified U.S.-listed funds differ in how they select investments and in the risks they take. QTUM and WQTM are thematic funds with distinct approaches. QPUX is a leveraged product with a daily objective, so its return behavior can differ substantially from simply holding quantum-related stocks.
| Fund | Approach | Launch or inception | Expense ratio | Key distinction |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Defiance Quantum ETF (QTUM) | Tracks the BlueStar Quantum Computing and Machine Learning Index before fees and expenses | September 4, 2018, according to Defiance | 0.40% annual operating expenses in its April 30, 2025 SEC-filed summary prospectus | Broader index exposure includes machine learning, advanced semiconductor packaging, and quantum-related raw materials, not only pure-play quantum companies |
| WisdomTree Quantum Computing Fund (WQTM) | Issuer-described strategy spanning pure-play pioneers and diversified global leaders in quantum hardware, software, and infrastructure | October 9, 2025 | 0.45% gross and net as of June 30, 2026, per WisdomTree’s factsheet | Newer ecosystem approach; WisdomTree says its framework was co-developed with quantum software company Classiq |
| Defiance Daily Target 2X Long Pure Quantum ETF (QPUX) | Uses swaps and options linked to quantum companies | August 6, 2025, according to Defiance | 1.29% gross, per Defiance | Leveraged daily-return objective and derivatives make it materially different from an unleveraged thematic fund |
Expense ratios are not the only cost of owning an ETF. Brokerage commissions and intermediary fees may apply, and market prices can differ from net asset value. Before buying, check each fund’s current prospectus, fee disclosures, holdings, trading spread, and listing information.
How QTUM builds its portfolio
QTUM seeks to track, before expenses, the BlueStar Quantum Computing and Machine Learning Index. Its April 30, 2025 summary prospectus describes a modified equal-weighted portfolio and says companies must derive at least 50% of annual revenue or operating activity from quantum computing and machine-learning technology. The index is screened semi-annually. Its scope also reaches advanced semiconductor packaging and raw materials used in quantum computing, so the name does not mean every holding is a pure-play quantum hardware business. Read QTUM’s SEC-filed summary prospectus.

#1 Best Overall
The prospectus reports 0.40% in management fees and total annual operating expenses. It illustrates $41 in costs for a hypothetical $10,000 investment held one year under the prospectus’s assumptions; that is a standardized example, not a prediction of what an investor will actually pay. As the prospectus notes, brokerage commissions and fees charged by financial intermediaries are not included in its table or example.
QTUM is the oldest of the three funds covered here: Defiance says it launched on September 4, 2018. The issuer cautions that possible quantum-computing applications remain in the exploration stage and returns are uncertain. ETF shares trade at market prices, which may be above or below NAV, and investors can lose principal. See Defiance’s QTUM page and risk disclosures.

QTUM’s reported performance and size are historical
In its annual shareholder report filed with the SEC in 2026, Defiance reported a 36.35% QTUM NAV return for the year ended December 31, 2025. The report gives 37.04% for the index and 17.88% for the S&P 500 Total Return Index for that same year. It also lists $3,176,550,286 in net assets and 84 holdings as of December 31, 2025. These are dated report figures—not current assets or holdings, and not forecasts. The filing warns that past performance does not indicate future results. See QTUM’s SEC-filed annual shareholder report.
What WQTM’s strategy and reported figures show
WQTM began on October 9, 2025. WisdomTree describes it as a mix of pure-play pioneers and diversified global leaders across quantum hardware, software, and infrastructure; the issuer says the strategy framework was co-developed with quantum software company Classiq. Those statements describe the fund’s design, not independent evidence that the companies will achieve commercial progress.

WisdomTree’s factsheet dated June 30, 2026 reports a 0.45% gross and net expense ratio, 46 holdings, and $328.55 million in net assets. Its listed top holdings at that date include Quantinuum, D-Wave Quantum, Rigetti Computing, and IonQ. Holdings and assets change, so consult the dated factsheet and confirm current information before investing. The factsheet warns that investment value fluctuates and investors may receive more or less than their original investment. See WisdomTree’s WQTM materials.
Why QPUX is not simply “twice the quantum ETF”
Defiance lists QPUX’s inception as August 6, 2025 and its gross expense ratio as 1.29%. The issuer describes investments in swaps and options linked to quantum companies and identifies leverage risk. These features make it a leveraged, derivative-based product—not a conventional index fund like QTUM or an unleveraged thematic strategy like WQTM. Check Defiance’s QPUX page and current documents.
Rank #4
A daily 2X target should not be read as a promise to deliver twice the long-term return of a basket of quantum stocks. Daily-reset leverage compounds across successive sessions; when returns fluctuate, the resulting multi-day performance can diverge from twice the underlying basket’s return over that period. The current prospectus is essential for understanding the precise objective, reference exposure, daily mechanics, and risks before trading.
How to compare the funds before investing
- Look at the mandate: QTUM tracks a defined index with eligibility and screening rules; WQTM uses WisdomTree’s stated ecosystem strategy; QPUX pursues a leveraged daily objective through derivatives.
- Check what “quantum” exposure means: QTUM’s index also includes machine learning, packaging, and raw-material businesses. WQTM describes exposure across hardware, software, and infrastructure. QPUX links derivative exposure to quantum companies.
- Compare costs using like-for-like disclosures: QTUM’s 0.40% is from its April 2025 summary prospectus; WQTM’s 0.45% gross and net figures are from June 2026; QPUX’s 1.29% is the gross ratio listed by Defiance. Verify the latest prospectuses because fees and disclosures may change.
- Review holdings, concentration, assets, and trading liquidity: Fund size and holdings counts above are historical values for QTUM and WQTM, not live figures. Check the latest issuer materials and consider bid-ask spreads and premiums or discounts to NAV before placing an order.
- Match the product to your risk tolerance and time horizon: Theme-specific funds can be volatile, and QPUX’s leverage and daily target introduce risks beyond ordinary thematic exposure. Do not choose a fund solely because it had the highest return over a selected past period.
Does the U.S. list apply to investors elsewhere?
No. Fund eligibility, exchange listings, share classes, and investor documents vary by jurisdiction. WisdomTree Europe lists a Quantum Computing UCITS ETF with a USD accumulating share class and regional listing details, but that does not establish that it is available to every investor or that the U.S. funds are eligible in every country. Confirm the exact ticker, exchange, domicile, trading currency, local availability, and required documents for your country. Country-by-country eligibility and tax treatment are not established here. See WisdomTree Europe’s Quantum Computing UCITS ETF listing.
