Candidates considering a later cycle should check PPSC’s official notices for current dates, vacancies and eligibility.
What the Punjab PCS 2025 notification announced
PPSC’s notice, dated 2 January 2025 and numbered Advertisement No. 20251, announced the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination-2025 (PSCSCCE-2025). Its original vacancy table listed 322 posts across ten service groups:
| Post group | Posts in original notice |
|---|---|
| Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch) | 46 |
| Deputy Superintendent of Police | 17 |
| Tehsildar | 27 |
| Excise and Taxation Officer | 121 |
| Food and Civil Supply Officer | 13 |
| Block Development and Panchayat Officer | 49 |
| Assistant Registrar Co-operative Societies | 21 |
| Labour-cum-Conciliation Officer | 3 |
| Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Officer | 12 |
| Deputy Superintendent Jails Grade-II / District Probation Officer | 13 |
| Total advertised | 322 |
The figures are those in the original notification; it states that the government could increase or decrease vacancies before the selection process concluded. The table lists 46 Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch) posts. Read the reproduced PPSC notification (PDF).
Application deadline and fees
Registration and fee payment opened on 3 January 2025. The notice required candidates to apply online through the PPSC website; it did not accept another application mode. The online application and payment deadline was 31 January 2025 at 11:59 p.m. This recruitment is closed, and its published fee amounts are historical rather than a schedule for a future PPSC cycle.
#1 Best Overall
| Category named in the notice | Published total fee for 2025 |
|---|---|
| Specified exempt categories, including Punjab EWS, PwD, ex-servicemen and LDESM | ₹500 |
| Specified SC/ST applicants from all states and Punjab BC applicants | ₹750 |
| All other categories | ₹1,500 |
Category eligibility and fee treatment should be checked against the notice rather than inferred from this summary. It warned applicants that information and category selections could not be changed after final submission, and instructed them to keep a copy of the application and supporting records. The notification contains the application and fee rules.
Eligibility requirements in the 2025 notice
Age
The baseline age range was 21–37 years as of 1 January 2025. Category-based relaxations were described, but rules included important exclusions for Punjab Police Service and Punjab Prisons Service. Applicants needed to check the specific service and category provisions; the baseline range alone does not establish an individual candidate’s eligibility.

Education and Punjabi
- A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution was required. Candidates still completing a degree could sit the preliminary examination, but had to provide proof of passing before the main examination.
- Candidates also needed matriculation with Punjabi as a compulsory or elective subject, or another Punjabi examination specified as equivalent by the government.
These are the 2025 notice’s requirements, not a guarantee that a later recruitment will use identical rules. Check the eligibility provisions in the notice.
How the examination was structured
Preliminary examination
The preliminary stage had two objective papers. General Studies determined preliminary merit; CSAT was qualifying, and its marks did not count toward that merit.

What is known about the exam schedule and later status
The original notice said the preliminary examination was “tentatively scheduled for April 2025” and that the exact date would be announced later. That was a provisional window, not confirmation of the date on which the exam was ultimately held. The available information here does not establish a final exam date, amended vacancy total or result status. Check subsequent official PPSC notices for those details rather than relying on the original schedule or unverified revisions.

- Check PPSC’s official recruitment notices for a live application window and the latest vacancy announcement; do not use the 2025 deadline or fees as current-cycle information.
- Read the relevant notification for the age cut-off, service-specific relaxations, degree deadline and Punjabi-language requirement.
- Use the new cycle’s official syllabus and examination scheme to plan preparation. The 2025 notice’s Punjab-focused General Studies emphasis is useful context, but does not establish what a later notice will prescribe.
