Yes—Public Mobile raised prices on some 4G plans in 2026, but not through one increase applied to every customer. Its current Canada-wide 4G lineup lists unlimited talk and text starting at $22 per month, while a separate notice raised some customers’ $20 subscriptions to $24 at renewal.
Public Mobile’s current 4G prices
Public Mobile’s Canada-wide plans page lists four 4G-speed options. Each includes unlimited talk and text, and the page advertises 2% back in Public Points. See Public Mobile’s current plans for live offers, which can change.
| Monthly price | Included data at 4G speed | Talk and text | Rewards | Availability and price type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $22 | 1GB | Unlimited | 2% back in Public Points | Canada-wide current offer; not described as roaming-enabled |
| $24 | 5GB | Unlimited | 2% back in Public Points | Canada-wide current offer; not described as roaming-enabled |
| $28 | 10GB | Unlimited | 2% back in Public Points | Canada-wide current offer; not described as roaming-enabled |
| $30 | 35GB | Unlimited | 2% back in Public Points | Canada-wide current offer; not described as roaming-enabled |
The listed rates are monthly prices on the carrier’s page, not a schedule for every existing subscriber’s renewal. The available details do not establish that these plans include roaming.
What changed in 2026?
Some $20 subscriptions rose to $24 at renewal
A Public Mobile customer notice said that, starting April 1, 2026, a customer’s monthly plan would increase by $4, from $20 to $24, at the next renewal. The notice also said the improved $24 plan included 8GB and directed customers to check the “Change Subscription” page in their account. That account-specific offer differs from the currently listed $24 plan, which includes 5GB.
#1 Best Overall
If your bill or subscription changed from $20 to $24, compare the plan attached to your account rather than assuming it is identical to the current public $24 offer. The notice does not establish one replacement offer or renewal date for every customer.
The 10GB 4G plan went from $26 to $28
A July 2026 report documented the 10GB 4G tier increasing by $2, from $26 to $28 per month. The surrounding prices it listed—$22 for talk and text, $24 for 5GB, and $30 for 35GB—match the current lineup reported on Public Mobile’s plan page.

Data allowances also shifted
April 2026 reporting said the $22 talk-and-text plan lost 500MB, while a $35 5G plan gained 5GB. The current Canada-wide 4G table lists 1GB with the $22 tier; the reported 5G change is separate from the 4G prices above.
What to check if your Public Mobile price changed
- Sign in to your Public Mobile account and open Change Subscription to review the plan and replacement offer shown for your account.
- Compare the monthly price and included data on that screen with the current public plans page. In particular, distinguish an account-specific renewal offer from a new customer or currently advertised offer.
- Check the renewal date and plan details in your account before making a change. Public sources do not give a complete schedule for grandfathered plans or every subscriber’s replacement offer.
What the price changes mean for talk-and-text customers
The current entry 4G tier is $22 per month and includes unlimited talk and text plus 1GB of data at 4G speed. It is not a talk-and-text-only plan: data is included. The price history also shows why it is important to compare both price and allowance—Public Mobile’s 2026 changes included different adjustments to prices and data, rather than a single across-the-board increase.
