Petpooja is a strong contender for India-focused restaurants that want billing, inventory, online-order integrations, and outlet management in one POS, but it is not an automatic fit for every business. Capterra lists a 4.6/5 overall rating from 37 reviews; those reviews include praise as well as complaints about order-taking usability, menu administration, and support. Publicly listed prices conflict, and the final cost can depend on the plan, add-ons, hardware, and location. Book a demo and get an itemized written quote before committing.
Petpooja rating and review snapshot
Capterra’s product profile shows Petpooja at 4.6/5 overall from 37 reviews. Its category scores are 4.6/5 for ease of use, 4.6/5 for customer service, 4.6/5 for features, and 4.7/5 for value for money. The India profile’s displayed distribution is 29 five-star, five four-star, two three-star, and one one-star review. These are platform-specific snapshots from a modest review sample, not a representative measure of every customer’s experience.
Reviewers commonly value the breadth of restaurant features, routine billing, inventory and reporting tools, integrations, and perceived value. Critical or mixed reviews raise concerns about the order-taking screen, time-consuming menu management, and slow or unsatisfactory issue resolution. Those are individual reviewer reports, not verified product-wide failure rates.

What Petpooja does
Petpooja is restaurant POS and management software, not just a billing application. Depending on the edition and configuration, its capabilities span billing and payment collection, kitchen order tickets (KOTs), menu administration, inventory, online-order management, sales and operations reporting, customer management, and multi-terminal or multi-outlet controls.
Its online-order tools are marketed for aggregator connections, menu management, and order reconciliation; its restaurant and menu pages describe inventory and operational functions. Petpooja says it supports more than 150 third-party integrations, but that headline does not establish that every integration is included in every plan or available on the same terms in every market. Check the exact services and charges relevant to your outlet.

What Petpooja costs in 2026
There is no single dependable public price for every market and configuration. Petpooja’s pricing page compares plans and add-ons, and says rates can vary by region and currency. It directs buyers to request localized pricing. The figures below are India-oriented third-party listing signals, not a current Petpooja quote or assurance that the described package is available on the same terms.
| Edition listed by Capterra | Listed annual price | Features shown in the listing |
|---|---|---|
| Electron POSS Core | ₹12,000 per year, plus 18% GST | Cloud POS, inventory, menu management, 90+ reports, aggregator integrations, unlimited users and terminals, offline compatibility, and support |
| Android POSS | ₹9,000 per year, plus 18% GST | Menu management, limited inventory, offline compatibility, aggregator integrations, reports, purchase manager, and integrations |
| POSS Lite | ₹6,000 per year, plus 18% GST | Basic menu management, limited reports, aggregator integrations, website, reconciliation, and limited scan-and-order |
| Local POSS Core | ₹20,000 per year, plus 18% GST | Billing POS, menu management, local data storage, offline inventory, and 90+ reports |
Techjockey separately lists a ₹10,000-per-outlet standard package and ₹7,500 annual renewal. That conflicts with Capterra’s figures; treat it as an indicative listing, not a universal or confirmed current price. Sources: Capterra pricing, Techjockey listing, and Petpooja pricing.
What to include in the total cost
Before comparing proposals, establish whether the quoted amount is annual or monthly and whether it is per outlet, terminal, device, user, or account. Ask for software, GST, hardware, installation, training, data migration, renewal or AMC, support, and integration charges as separate line items. Petpooja lists tools such as KDS, captain ordering, website, loyalty, token management, feedback, QR ordering, and digital menus as add-ons or plan-dependent features. Confirm what is included rather than assuming a feature shown on a product page comes with the base plan.
Rank #3
Ask for the renewal price and the cancellation, refund, and data-retention terms in writing. A vendor’s “no hidden fees” claim does not replace an itemized quote. Hardware compatibility also needs confirmation against your exact devices and printers; Petpooja says its POS works with iOS, Windows, and Android computers, tablets, and phones and supports multiple printer types. Petpooja pros
- Broad restaurant-specific coverage: Billing, menu tools, inventory, reporting, online ordering, and integrations can sit within one operational system rather than separate basic invoicing tools.
- Aggregator and business-system connections: Petpooja advertises connections with services including Swiggy and Zomato, payment tools, rider-management apps, and systems such as Tally, SAP, and Microsoft Dynamics. Confirm each required integration, its plan eligibility, and commercial terms for your market. Sources: online-order management and large-chain POS.
- Offline compatibility in some listed editions: Third-party plan descriptions include offline compatibility. That is useful where connectivity is unreliable, but it does not show which functions remain available or how queued activity synchronizes later. Source: Capterra pricing.
- Multi-outlet tools: Petpooja promotes centralized outlet management, central-kitchen functionality, permissions, consolidated reporting, and ERP integrations. These capabilities are more relevant to growing groups than to a single low-volume counter. Source: large-chain POS.
- Positive value signal from reviewers: Capterra’s 4.7/5 value-for-money score is favorable, but comes from the same 37-review profile and does not establish that any particular quote is good value.
- Training and support options: Petpooja advertises staff training and retraining, ticket tracking, on-ground assistance, and multilingual help. Source: Petpooja support.
Petpooja cons and risks
- Not every staff workflow may feel intuitive: Although the aggregate ease-of-use score is positive, some Capterra reviewers criticize order-taking usability. A demo should include the people who will actually use the cashier, waiter, and kitchen screens.
- Menu setup can take effort: Reviewer feedback identifies menu management as time-consuming. The risk matters more when prices, modifiers, availability, or outlet-specific menus change often.
- More modules mean more implementation work: This is a practical trade-off rather than a measured defect: inventory recipes, CRM, KDS, loyalty, integrations, and outlet reporting all require configuration, staff training, and consistent operating procedures.
- Support experiences vary: Petpooja advertises 24/7 support, while reviews include both positive experiences and complaints about response or resolution. Availability is not the same as a contractual response-time guarantee.
- Published pricing is hard to compare: Listings disagree on plan names and amounts, and the official page says rates may vary. Add-ons and hardware can also change total cost.
- Small outlets can buy more complexity than they need: If you need only basic billing and payment records, inventory, aggregator, CRM, and multi-outlet functions may not repay their cost or setup effort.
Is Petpooja easy to use?
Ease depends on the role and task. A cashier entering a standard bill may have a different experience from a waiter customizing a table order, a manager editing menus across branches, or an owner reconciling delivery orders. The 4.6/5 Capterra ease-of-use score is a useful signal, but the reviewer complaints about order-taking and menu administration show why an average cannot settle the question for your staff.
During a live demonstration, use your real menu and ask staff to perform a normal transaction and a difficult one: a modified item, split or merged bill, discount, payment across methods, KOT correction, and an unavailable menu item. For managers, demonstrate a price or availability change across outlets and ordering channels. Have kitchen staff test modifications and order-status handling. Observe how many steps each person needs and what happens when someone makes a mistake.

Support, reliability, and offline operation
Petpooja advertises 24/7 online support, on-ground assistance, automated ticket tracking, staff training and retraining, multi-outlet support, and help in 18+ Indian languages. These are vendor-described services. Independent reviewers report both helpful support and slow or unsatisfactory resolution, so the public evidence does not establish uniform response speed. Source: Petpooja support and Capterra reviews.
Ask who handles an urgent billing outage, whether escalation is available during your peak service hours, what response target applies, and whether support covers your city and hardware. Put any service commitment in the agreement. For offline use, have the vendor demonstrate what remains available without internet, whether online orders queue, how duplicate or conflicting transactions are handled, and how records synchronize when the connection returns. The existence of an offline-compatible plan does not by itself answer those operational questions.
How Petpooja fits different outlet types
| Business type | Fit to investigate | What to test |
|---|---|---|
| Independent restaurant | Potentially strong if inventory, reporting, or delivery integration is important | Billing speed, KOT workflow, recipe deductions, and aggregator reconciliation |
| Café or bakery | Potentially suitable, though the full feature set may exceed basic needs | Modifier handling, counter speed, inventory usefulness, and total cost |
| QSR | Potentially strong where fast billing and order accuracy matter | Rush-period workflow, KOT accuracy, tokens, and aggregator orders |
| Cloud kitchen | Potentially useful for aggregating and reconciling orders | Live-order flow, delayed or duplicate orders, and menu synchronization |
| Multi-outlet group | More compelling if centralized controls and reporting are needed | Permissions, consolidated reports, stock movement, central kitchen, and ERP connections |
| Tiny counter or stall | May be more than required when only basic billing is needed | Whether the simpler package meets needs and whether add-ons are avoidable |
| Operator outside India | Verify locally before shortlisting | Country-specific tax, payments, support, hardware, language, compliance, currency, and price |
Petpooja markets its product to formats including food courts, cafés, fine-dining restaurants, bars and breweries, pizzerias, QSRs, dessert outlets, chains, bakeries, and cloud kitchens. That is the vendor’s positioning, not proof that the same configuration suits every format. Public plan and pricing signals here are primarily India-oriented; international operators should verify local availability and terms. Sources: Petpooja restaurant POS and Petpooja pricing.

What to test in a Petpooja demo
- Request an itemized quote naming the plan, included features, and whether pricing is per outlet, terminal, device, user, or account.
- Confirm GST, hardware, installation, migration, training, support, renewal or AMC, integration, and custom-work charges separately.
- Ask which modules are paid add-ons, including KDS, captain ordering, loyalty, website, QR ordering, digital menus, token management, and feedback tools.
- Run a real billing scenario with discounts, split or merged bills, multiple payment methods, table or area ordering, receipts, and KOT printing.
- Test the cashier, waiter, kitchen, manager, and administrator workflows with the staff who will use them.
- Ask which functions work during an internet outage, what happens to online orders, and how synchronization works after reconnection.
- Demonstrate your required Swiggy, Zomato, payment, rider, or accounting connections; verify setup and recurring charges and who supports each integration.
- Change an item price, modifier, tax, packaging charge, and availability setting; confirm where each change appears and how it reaches other outlets and channels.
- Test inventory with your actual recipes, portions, purchases, wastage, transfers, and stock counts. Software cannot correct inconsistent stock inputs.
- Confirm the number of outlets, users, terminals, devices, and printers supported by the quote, and test compatibility with hardware you already own.
- Ask what data you can export, in what format, and whether billing, customer, inventory, and accounting data remain accessible after cancellation.
- Get response-time expectations, escalation contacts, city-level on-ground coverage, training inclusions, renewal terms, cancellation, refund, and data-retention terms in writing.
Petpooja alternatives to compare
Compare alternatives against the same outlet count, order mix, integrations, hardware, support expectations, contract term, and add-on needs. Petpooja’s own comparison article names Restroworks, UrbanPiper Prime, LimeTray, and GoFrugal, so its descriptions should be treated as positioning to investigate rather than independent rankings.
| Option | Use case to investigate | Compare on |
|---|---|---|
| Restroworks | Larger or multi-country chains seeking enterprise reporting and central control | Global availability, enterprise controls, deployment, support, and total cost |
| UrbanPiper Prime | Delivery-first brands and cloud kitchens focused on aggregator orders and menus | Aggregator coverage, menu synchronization, reconciliation, and fees |
| LimeTray | Restaurants prioritizing their own ordering channel, website, app, or marketing tools | Owned-channel capabilities, integrations, marketing features, and contract terms |
| GoFrugal | Businesses seeking back-office, stock, purchasing, or accounting controls | Inventory depth, procurement, accounting links, and workflow fit |
These use cases are not verdicts that one product is better. Capterra also lists Toast POS, Rezku POS, Epos Now, TastyIgniter, and HungerRush among alternatives, but availability and fit can differ by country and restaurant type. Final verdict: Should you choose Petpooja?
Petpooja is worth shortlisting if you operate in India and want restaurant-specific billing connected to inventory, online orders, reporting, or multiple outlets. Its broad coverage and positive Capterra scores make it a credible option, but neither the ratings nor advertised feature set answers whether your staff will find your actual workflows efficient or whether your quoted configuration is good value.
Book a demo using your own service scenarios and menu, compare an itemized first-year and renewal quote, and document add-ons, hardware, support terms, offline behavior, and data export before signing. A small outlet seeking only simple billing, or a buyer needing specialized international compliance or guaranteed support SLAs, should compare alternatives against those needs before committing.
