They’re useful as examples of the kinds of camping gear deals retailers ran that month, but don’t expect the codes to work now. For a current purchase, check the retailer’s offer page and confirm the discount in your basket before paying.
What outdoor deals ran in May 2026?
Outside’s May 21, 2026 roundup covered sales across camping, hiking, cycling, running, watersports, climbing, footwear and technical outerwear. It also pointed readers toward Amazon outdoor and fitness sales, including camping gear, but did not establish a specific product price or current discount. Outside’s Memorial Day outdoor gear sales roundup is a historical guide, not a live deal list.
REI Anniversary Sale
Outside reported that REI’s 10-day Anniversary Sale ran through May 25, 2026. It described an additional member offer of 20% off one full-price item and one outlet item with code ANNIV26. The offer was time-limited and has ended; the code should not be treated as usable today. Outside’s report is the source for those terms.
Garage Grown Gear Small Business Sales Week
Garage Grown Gear’s event page listed Small Business Sales Week for May 12–19, 2026, with offers from more than 90 small outdoor brands. Examples included a 20% discount on the Aspen backpack from Symbiosis Gear, product and sitewide promotions from other brands, and a free tent footprint with a SlingFin tent using code SBSW2026. These were campaign-specific examples and have expired. See Garage Grown Gear’s event page for the published event details.

Which official REI offers were listed for 2026?
REI’s official coupon page published dated terms for individual promotions. Its April Outlet offer ran April 23–27, 2026, with tiers of 20% off $100, 25% off $150, and/or 30% off $250 or more. The page also listed a Mother’s Day bonus-card promotion with offer dates in April and May. Those windows had ended by October 4, 2026. The precise eligibility, exclusions, online limits and redemption rules depend on the particular offer, so consult the REI coupons, codes, discounts and rebates page for any offer currently shown rather than relying on an old promotion.
Can outdoor club members get discounts?
Some outdoor discounts are available through memberships rather than a public voucher. The British Mountaineering Council’s UK-focused retail discount directory gives examples of retailer offers that require presenting a membership card, contacting the BMC for a code, or entering a stated code at checkout. Its individual listings may be stale, so check both the BMC and the retailer before counting on a member discount. The directory is specific to the UK membership context and does not establish eligibility elsewhere.

How to check whether a voucher will actually save money
Before relying on an outdoor discount, check the offer’s terms and the final basket total. A code listed on a third-party site may be expired, limited to certain products, or unavailable in your region.

- Confirm the end date and time zone. Make sure the promotion is still within its stated window.
- Check who and what qualifies. Look for membership or account requirements, eligible products, excluded brands, minimum spend and any maximum discount.
- Find out how it applies. Some offers are automatic sale prices; others require a code or a specific redemption method. Check whether the code can be combined with an existing sale.
- Review delivery and returns. Verify geographic eligibility, shipping thresholds, stock availability and the retailer’s return conditions.
- Test the offer in checkout. Enter the code if required, then inspect the final basket total before paying. Don’t assume it worked until the discount appears.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
