Orca Security acquired Opus Security on May 13, 2025, to add agentic AI-driven remediation and prevention to its cloud security platform. The purchase is intended to move Orca beyond identifying and prioritizing cloud risks toward automating work to address them. Orca did not disclose the acquisition price, and available reporting does not independently establish how well the combined platform has performed at remediating risks.
What Orca got from Opus
Opus Security focused on agentic AI-driven cloud-security automation. Orca said the acquisition would extend its cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) from observing and prioritizing risk toward autonomous remediation and prevention. The announcement named Opus founders Meny Har and Or Gabay, who had previously been part of the founding team at Siemplify, acquired by Google Cloud in 2021. Orca’s May 13, 2025 announcement describes the deal and its stated purpose.
What AI-powered remediation is meant to do
The target is the operational gap between finding cloud vulnerabilities and fixing them. Orca’s stated direction is to use automation for triage, workflow execution and remediation across cloud environments, while keeping policy and risk context centralized. In a CEO blog, Orca described the strategy as a move toward “agentic AI-based remediation and prevention.” The blog post sets out the company’s framing of the acquisition.
That description is a product strategy, not independent evidence of a particular level of autonomy. The announcement and coverage do not establish which remediation actions run without human approval, what controls govern execution, or what remediation rates customers have achieved. Readers should distinguish Orca’s stated goal of autonomous action from independently verified results.

Was the acquisition price disclosed?
No. Financial terms were not disclosed in Orca’s announcement or the cited industry coverage. Dark Reading reported that nearly 50 Opus engineers would join Orca; that is a reported team figure, not a purchase-price or valuation detail.
How the deal fits Orca’s 2026 ecosystem
Subsequent announcements show Orca building out both cloud-provider collaboration and distribution. These partnerships provide context for its enterprise reach; they do not, by themselves, demonstrate the effectiveness of Opus-derived remediation capabilities.

What the deal means for buyers
For a cloud-security buyer, the acquisition signals Orca’s intent to connect risk detection with action rather than stop at alerts and prioritization. Whether that translates into safer or faster remediation for a particular organization depends on product capabilities and controls that the deal announcements do not quantify. A buyer evaluating the platform should verify how it handles approval before changes, policy enforcement, audit records and recovery if an automated change causes a problem.
