Verdict: The OnePlus 15 did not undercut the OnePlus 13 at launch in the United States. OnePlus launched the 15 globally on November 13, 2025, at $899.99 for 12GB/256GB and $999.99 for 16GB/512GB—roughly the same U.S. starting-price tier as the OnePlus 13’s reported launch price of about $899. The lower-price story appears to have originated with China-market expectations and leaks, not a confirmed U.S. MSRP.
What the “lower price” leak actually meant
Early reports did not establish a single, worldwide OnePlus 15 price. The figure could have represented a China-market expectation, a converted currency value, a retailer listing, or a temporary launch promotion rather than U.S. manufacturer’s suggested retail price. Reports also circulated before OnePlus finalized global memory and storage configurations.

That distinction matters. Chinese and international prices can diverge because of taxes, distribution costs, regional specifications, promotions and product positioning. Converting a Chinese price into dollars is not a reliable way to predict U.S. MSRP. Contemporary coverage described expectations that the global model would be cheaper, but noted that the reduction did not materialize in several overseas markets: Notebookcheck’s launch-price report.
Official OnePlus 15 launch prices by market
OnePlus’s North American announcement supplied confirmed U.S. and Canadian figures. It also warned that U.S. pricing could change with market conditions, so these are historical launch prices, not a guaranteed August 2026 checkout price.

OnePlus 15 versus OnePlus 13 at launch
The clean comparison is launch MSRP against launch MSRP, in the same country and at matching storage tiers. Android Central reported the OnePlus 13 as launching in the U.S. at approximately $899, while the OnePlus 15 started at $899.99 for 12GB/256GB: Android Central’s launch coverage.
| Category | OnePlus 15 | OnePlus 13 comparison |
|---|---|---|
| U.S. launch price | $899.99 (12GB/256GB); $999.99 (16GB/512GB) | About $899 reported at U.S. launch; configuration must be matched |
| Processor | Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 | Earlier-generation platform |
| Display | 6.78-inch, 2772×1272; 1–120Hz adaptive, up to 165Hz in gaming | Higher-resolution display positioning; see Android Central’s comparison |
| Battery | 7,300mAh typical equivalent capacity, using two 3,650mAh cells | Smaller than the OnePlus 15 |

What buyers get for the OnePlus 15’s price
Performance and gaming
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a gaming mode capable of driving up to 165Hz target buyers who prioritize sustained performance and fast touch response. The normal adaptive display range is 1–120Hz; 165Hz is a gaming maximum, not an always-on setting.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsBattery capacity
The 7,300mAh equivalent capacity is implemented as two 3,650mAh cells. That is a substantial capacity advantage on paper for heavy users, but endurance still depends on network conditions, brightness, games and software.
Regional charging differences
Do not assume every OnePlus 15 has the same charging hardware. The U.S. specification lists 80W SUPERVOOC and 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging, while the India launch page advertises 120W SUPERVOOC: OnePlus India and OnePlus U.S.. Buyers should check the page for their market before importing a phone or buying accessories.
Camera hardware
The U.S. model has three 50MP cameras, including a 3.5× optical telephoto. Resolution alone does not settle image quality: processing, color preferences and the OnePlus 13’s established camera tuning can make the older phone preferable for some photographers.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the OnePlus 15 a better deal?
Choose the OnePlus 15 when
- You value the newer processor and longer-term performance headroom.
- A very large battery is more useful to you than maximum display resolution.
- You play games that can benefit from the 165Hz mode.
- You want the newer Android 16-based OxygenOS generation.
Choose the OnePlus 13 when
- Its current clearance or refurbished price is meaningfully below the OnePlus 15.
- You prefer its higher-resolution display positioning.
- You prioritize its camera balance or image rendering.
- You want a mature product with clearly available retailer warranty and returns.
Android Central’s comparison specifically highlighted the OnePlus 15’s lower display resolution and concluded that the OnePlus 13 could remain the better all-rounder for some users: read the comparison. Neither model is automatically better value without the actual price, storage tier, warranty and buyer priorities.
Availability and support in 2026
OnePlus announced in July 2026 that it would end new product rollouts in North America and Europe while maintaining service commitments for existing devices. That does not mean every phone disappeared immediately or that support ended on announcement day. It does mean buyers should distinguish between remaining inventory, software updates, warranty and repair commitments, and the availability of future models. See Ars Technica and Tom’s Guide.
- Verify that a retailer is authorized and states who handles warranty repairs.
- Check whether the listed phone is new, refurbished or imported.
- Confirm return windows, network-band compatibility and update commitments.
- For imported Chinese models, investigate software, Google-services support, charging equipment, warranty and resale limitations.
How to compare a real offer
- Match the country and currency.
- Match RAM and storage: compare 12GB/256GB with 12GB/256GB, or 16GB/512GB with 16GB/512GB.
- Compare launch MSRP with launch MSRP, then show promotions separately.
- State whether sales tax or VAT, shipping and accessories are included.
- Check regional charging, warranty and network specifications.
Official OnePlus cases listed with the North American launch were $24.99 for the Sandstone and hole-pattern magnetic cases and $39.99 for the aramid-fiber magnetic case. Those are accessory list prices, not proof that a case or charger is included with a phone: OnePlus’s release.
The Bottom Line
The leak was plausible as a China-market signal but misleading as a U.S. headline. At official U.S. launch pricing, the OnePlus 15 cost about the same as the OnePlus 13, then added a newer platform and much larger battery while giving up some display-resolution appeal. Buy the 15 for performance and battery, or choose a discounted, properly supported OnePlus 13 if its display and camera balance matter more.
