Supply-chain reports say Nvidia raised prices roughly 5–10% on gaming graphics cards and by as much as 15% on data-center AI products. Nvidia has confirmed that Blackwell production is expanding at TSMC’s Arizona facilities, but it has not published a universal price list proving that every GeForce model rose. The practical question is therefore the verified street price of a specific card, seller, country and date—not whether every Nvidia GPU suddenly costs the same percentage more.

What is confirmed—and what is only reported

Confirmed: Nvidia is adding U.S. manufacturing capacity for Blackwell systems.

Reported: Supply-chain coverage says prices increased across much of Nvidia’s portfolio, with different effects on gaming and AI products.

Not publicly verified: A model-by-model Nvidia price sheet showing that every GeForce and data-center product rose by the reported percentages.

ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card

  • OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
  • A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis

The original claim comes from Taiwanese supply-chain reporting summarized by TrendForce and detailed by Tom’s Hardware. Those reports describe an estimated 5–10% increase for gaming GPUs and up to 15% for AI accelerators. They are reports about supply-chain or manufacturer pricing, not confirmation that every retail listing changed by the same amount.

Which Nvidia products may be affected?

GeForce gaming cards

The reported 5–10% range applies to gaming products in general. It does not establish a new MSRP for each RTX model, Founders Edition card or board-partner design. AIB partners can set different prices, and retailers may still be selling older inventory purchased under earlier terms.

Data-center AI accelerators and systems

Reports of increases up to 15% concern AI and data-center products. A server maker’s 10–15% system increase can include GPUs, high-bandwidth memory, networking, chassis, cooling, integration and support; it is not automatically a 10–15% increase in the chip itself. Enterprise products are often quote-based through Nvidia’s data-center channel or an authorized server OEM.

Older RTX 40-series inventory

Prices on discontinued or scarce cards can rise because inventory is running out, sellers are adding a premium or demand has shifted. That movement is not proof that Nvidia issued a new MSRP. Conversely, a discounted older card can remain cheaper even if new-generation pricing trends upward.

Why Arizona manufacturing can increase costs

Nvidia confirmed on April 14, 2025 that Blackwell production would begin at TSMC facilities in Phoenix, with mass production expected to ramp over 12–15 months. On October 17, 2025, Nvidia announced the first U.S.-produced Blackwell wafer. These announcements confirm a U.S. manufacturing transition, not that every Nvidia GPU or every Blackwell component is made domestically.

New fabs can have higher construction, labor, utilities, depreciation, logistics and early-utilization costs than established Taiwanese plants. Imported equipment and materials can still incur trade-related expenses. Industry estimates cited by TrendForce suggested U.S.-made advanced-node wafers could cost about 30% more, while other estimates place the difference around 5–20% depending on process, yield and utilization. None of these estimates is a universal multiplier for a finished graphics card.

  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4. System Requirements: Minimum 850W PSU with 16-pin 12V-2x6 (12VHPWR) connector required. Verify before purchasing.
  • Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
  • 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads

A GPU’s final cost also includes packaging, HBM or other memory, substrates, board assembly, testing, cooling, software, freight, distributor margins and retailer margins. As Tom’s Hardware notes, a wafer-price change does not pass through one-for-one to the finished product.

Manufacturing costs, tariffs and export controls are different pressures

Manufacturing costs

These are expenses such as factory labor, equipment, materials, yield losses, utilities and overhead.

Tariffs and logistics

Tariffs are government charges on imported goods or components. Freight, insurance, warehousing and cross-border handling are separate logistics costs. They can affect U.S. and international prices differently.

China export restrictions

Restrictions on advanced AI-chip exports to China primarily affect Nvidia’s data-center business. Notebookcheck summarized reporting about potential multibillion-dollar effects from H20 restrictions. It is reasonable to treat export controls as a margin and demand pressure, but the available evidence does not show that Nvidia directly passed those losses to every gaming customer.

Why retail prices may not move with Nvidia’s reported pricing

  • MSRP versus street price: A manufacturer or distributor adjustment is not the same as a public retail price.
  • Board-partner variation: Cooling, factory overclocks and warranty terms create different prices for the same GPU class.
  • Inventory timing: Retailers may discount old stock or charge more for scarce new stock.
  • Regional costs: VAT, import duties, currency movements and local distribution margins differ by country.
  • Marketplace behavior: A reseller’s asking price can reflect scarcity rather than Nvidia’s pricing decision.

For those reasons, “across the board” can mean most product families or upstream price lists—not every SKU, laptop GPU, workstation card and retail listing.

How to decide whether to buy

Gamers

  1. Compare the current listing with the card’s official launch MSRP and record the country, seller and date.
  2. Check several board-partner versions rather than accepting the first available listing.
  3. Buy near MSRP when you need the performance and availability is good; avoid panic-buying a card substantially above MSRP.
  4. Compare AMD Radeon options at the same street price, considering raster performance, VRAM, ray tracing, upscaling and software support. See AMD Radeon Graphics and Intel Arc Graphics.
  5. Treat used or previous-generation cards as value options only after checking warranty, seller reputation, power draw and remaining VRAM headroom.

Creators and workstation users

Nvidia can justify a premium when a workflow depends on CUDA, NVENC or the Nvidia Studio ecosystem. If applications run equally well on competing hardware, compare total system price and memory capacity rather than assuming the Nvidia badge is worth any premium.

AI developers and enterprise buyers

Calculate the cost of the complete deployment: VRAM or HBM, bandwidth, interconnects, host CPU, networking, power, cooling, software compatibility, support, warranty and lead time. Consumer GeForce cards can suit experimentation, while production workloads may require validated enterprise software, multi-GPU networking and predictable support. Enterprise buyers should request a system quote instead of using a retail listing as a benchmark.

How U.S. and international buyers may differ

U.S. buyers could see effects from domestic production costs and U.S. trade policy. Buyers elsewhere may instead feel VAT, import duties, currency changes and local margins. Because fabrication, packaging, assembly and sales are distributed globally, one U.S. production shift does not imply an identical increase in every region.

Bottom line

U.S. manufacturing is a real potential cost pressure, and the reported 5–10% gaming and up-to-15% AI increases are credible enough to monitor. But the evidence does not establish that Nvidia officially raised every GPU price, that every retailer has already passed through an increase, or that Arizona production alone caused it. Check the specific model’s dated street price, seller and region, then compare the complete workload cost with AMD, Intel or an alternative system.
