Value depends on the models, prices, and purchase terms in a specific market; availability depends on the item, size, seller, and location. For a fair comparison, match similar products and check their prices and stock in the same place on the same date.
What “better value” means in a brand comparison
A company-wide comparison cannot tell you which pair or product is the better buy. Compare products intended for similar uses—such as everyday wear or the same sport—and weigh the features and fit that matter for that use against the price and purchase terms.
For a useful comparison, record the market and currency, the date checked, any discount, shipping cost, and return terms that could change the total cost or the risk of buying the wrong size. A lower listed price alone does not settle value if the products differ materially or the purchase terms are less favorable.
Which brand is easier to find?
Both companies sell through direct channels and wholesale partners, but those routes to market do not reveal whether a particular style and size is in stock near you. Nike’s FY2026 filing describes sales through NIKE Direct and wholesale accounts. Its FY2026 results report $27.5 billion in wholesale revenue and $17.7 billion in NIKE Direct revenue; those are revenue figures, not counts of stores, products, or available items. adidas reported that wholesale made up 60% of net sales and direct-to-consumer 40% in 2025. It also reported 2,022 own stores, including 886 concept stores and 1,136 factory outlets. These company-wide figures describe sales channels and footprint, not live stock for a particular product, size, or location. adidas 2025 annual report.
The periods and measures differ: Nike’s figures are for fiscal 2026, while adidas’s channel mix and store count are for calendar 2025. They do not support a direct ranking of which brand is more available to an individual shopper.

How to compare Nike and adidas before buying
- Choose a market and use. Decide where you will shop and match products designed for the same purpose. Nike identifies athletic footwear among its principal products; adidas reports a broad sportswear business and retail assortment. If you are comparing shoes, specify the type rather than treating all footwear as interchangeable. Nike FY2026 reports and adidas 2025 annual report.
- Compare similar models. Focus on features relevant to your intended use and whether the available sizes and fit work for you. A comparison between unlike products will not establish which brand offers better value.
- Check prices on the same date. Use the same market and currency, and note discounts, shipping, and any other material cost. Prices can vary by model and seller.
- Check stock where you would actually buy. Compare the same sizes at brand-direct stores and the same local or online retailers. A company’s sales mix or store count cannot confirm item-level inventory.
- Include purchase terms in the decision. Consider return terms when they could materially affect the cost or your ability to exchange an unsuitable size.
What company growth figures can—and cannot—tell you
adidas reported that in 2025 wholesale revenues grew 12% on a currency-neutral basis and own-retail revenues grew 13%. Those are company-reported growth rates for that period, not evidence that adidas products cost less or are easier to find than Nike products. adidas FY2025 results releases.
Likewise, revenue, growth, and store totals describe parts of each company’s business; they do not establish the price or availability of the specific product you are considering.

Choose by the comparable products available to you, not by a brand-wide winner: compare models suited to the same use, their current local prices and stock, fit, and relevant purchase terms. Without a defined category and market—and same-date price and stock checks—neither brand is established as the better value or more available choice overall.
