Quick verdict: Nextbillion Technology Pvt. Ltd. is a genuine Indian financial-services legal entity whose current name is Groww Invest Tech Private Limited, according to Groww’s disclosures. The company is associated with Groww’s stock-broking, depository-participant and mutual-fund-distribution services—not with mapping APIs or location-intelligence products. A company-name match alone does not authenticate every message, job offer or payment request using that name.
What is Nextbillion Technology Pvt. Ltd.?
Groww identifies Groww Invest Tech Private Limited as “formerly known as Nextbillion Technology Private Limited.” Its CIN is U65100KA2016PTC092879. The current disclosure is available on Groww’s trust and safety page.
This means “Nextbillion Technology” may appear on older agreements, bank mandates, account documents or regulatory records even when the customer-facing brand is Groww. It should not automatically be treated as a separate mapping or logistics-technology company.

What does the company do?
Groww’s terms and conditions describe the entity’s role in facilitating investment and trading services. Activities include:
- Stock broking and trading in cash and futures-and-options segments.
- Mutual-fund subscriptions and redemptions.
- Depository-participant services.
- Platform, account and customer-support functions for Groww users.
- Complaint and grievance handling related to these services.
The platform, regulated intermediary and product issuer are not always the same entity. Groww Invest Tech may facilitate a transaction, while a mutual-fund asset-management company or another issuer provides the underlying investment product.
Rank #2
Why the mapping-company description is misleading
A third-party profile describes Nextbillion as a mapping, routing and location-intelligence provider. That description conflicts with Groww’s legal terms and regulatory disclosures, which identify financial-services activities. See the third-party claim at GeekChamp and compare it with the primary disclosures above.
Why the old name may appear on a payment or mandate
Legal entities often remain named in mandates, broker records and contracts after a consumer brand changes. NPCI’s corporate e-mandate list includes Nextbillion Technology Pvt. Ltd.; an NSE document also discusses its platform role and Groww-group relationships. Seeing the name is therefore not, by itself, evidence of an unauthorized debit.
What do reviews and complaints prove?
Directory rating
One Bengaluru Justdial listing shows 2.2/5 from 48 ratings. This is a user-generated directory signal tied to a listing under the old name—not an audited customer-satisfaction study or a universal rating for Groww’s current app. The listing is at Justdial.
Online fraud allegations
Two consumer-complaint pages allege that people using the Nextbillion name requested deposits, GST payments or transfer fees. The pages do not establish who contacted the complainants or whether the allegations are genuine. They may involve impersonators or unrelated individuals: complaint one and complaint two.

Do not turn either anonymous allegations or a directory score into a finding that the company is fraudulent. Regulatory orders, identifiable account records and transaction evidence are materially stronger evidence.
Legitimacy and regulatory history
Corporate identity is supported by Groww’s disclosures, market registrations and NPCI records. That establishes the entity’s existence; it does not guarantee investment returns, uninterrupted service or the authenticity of every person claiming to represent it.

A SEBI settlement order identifies Groww Invest Tech Private Limited, formerly Nextbillion Technology Private Limited, in adjudication proceedings arising from a comprehensive inspection. The existence of a settlement proceeding should not be paraphrased as a fraud finding or admission of every allegation; readers should consult the order for its procedural posture, allegations and terms.
