Confirmed offers from restaurant announcements
Del Taco: free taco with a purchase
Del Taco’s October Tacoberfest schedule includes a free taco with any purchase on October 6 for Del Yeah! Rewards members at participating restaurants. The All-American BurgerTaco is excluded and additional terms apply. The company’s announcement also lists other rotating buy-one-get-one offers on different October dates; those are not the October 6 free-taco offer. Del Taco’s October 2026 Tacoberfest announcement.
Laredo Taco Company: buy-one-get-one tacos
On October 6, participating Laredo Taco Company locations inside 7-Eleven, Speedway and Stripes offer buy-one-get-one potato-and-egg tacos or chicken-fajita tacos. The same 7-Eleven announcement lists two El Gran Tocino tacos for $5, one El Gran Tocino burrito for $5, and a $5 Taco Meal Deal through October 27. These prices are plus tax, and the offers are limited to participating locations. 7-Eleven’s National Taco Day announcement.

Chuy’s: free entrée for taco-costumed dine-in guests
Chuy’s October 6 offer is for dine-in customers dressed as a taco. Show the server a social post reading “Posting for a free entrée! #ChuysTacoDay” during the same visit to receive the free entrée. Chuy’s also lists a $1 crispy or soft ground-beef taco added to any entrée and a $1 margarita floater; both are dine-in offers. Its page separately advertises free delivery fees on qualifying orders placed directly through the app using a code, through October 31. The delivery-fee value is capped at $2.99 and service fees apply. Check the Chuy’s National Taco Day terms before ordering.
Taco Bell and Duolingo: free sauce with a qualifying taco
In the United States, Taco Bell and Duolingo offer one free limited-edition Duo Habanero sauce packet with the purchase of a Doritos Locos Taco at participating restaurants, while supplies last. Additional packets are listed at $0.20 each. International offer details vary by market, so the U.S. terms should not be assumed to apply elsewhere. See the companies’ Global Taco Day announcement and Taco Bell’s promotion page.

Taco Bell rewards: Super Duolingo and a limited plushie opportunity
Taco Bell rewards members can unlock one month of Super Duolingo during the October 1–6 promotion window. The announcement says codes must be redeemed by November 15 and stay active for 30 days after activation. Separately, U.S. rewards members can try the Tuesday Drops page on October 6 at 2 p.m. Pacific for a limited-edition Taco Bell x Duolingo plushie, while supplies last. This is a limited giveaway opportunity, not a guaranteed purchase or proof that the plushie is available for sale. The announcement describes different local activations in other markets. See Taco Bell and Duolingo’s announcement for promotion details.
Other deals reported by roundups: verify with the restaurant
Deal roundups report additional October 6 offers, but these are secondary reports rather than the official offer terms. Confirm eligibility, dates and local availability directly with each restaurant before making a special trip.

How to check a deal before you go
- Confirm your location participates. National or chain-level announcements do not guarantee every restaurant or store is included. Use the brand’s official offer page or contact the location.
- Check the date and time window. Some deals apply only October 6; others extend beyond it. A listed October 6 offer should not be assumed to work on another day.
- Read the redemption requirements. Look for a required purchase, rewards account, app or promo code, dine-in restriction, costume, social post, eligible menu item and per-customer limit.
- Check the final price and order channel. Note tax, service or delivery fees, and whether the promotion works for dine-in, pickup or delivery. The cheapest headline price may not be the lowest total for your order.
- For limited supplies, ask before making the trip. A promotion marked “while supplies last” can run out before the advertised date ends.
What to expect from the offers
The most useful distinction is between a genuinely free item and a discounted add-on or bundle. Del Taco’s free taco requires a purchase and rewards membership; Taco Bell’s free sauce requires a Doritos Locos Taco purchase; Chuy’s free entrée requires a specific dine-in experience and social post. Laredo Taco Company’s advertised BOGO is a discount structure rather than a no-purchase giveaway. Compare the deal with what you planned to order, and do not spend more just to qualify unless the total still makes sense.
