Mine announced a $30 million Series B on December 5, 2023, led by Battery Ventures. The company said it would use the funding to scale MineOS, its enterprise platform for discovering and managing data across cloud and on-premise environments.

What is Mine’s $30 million Series B?

It is a financing round announced by Mine on December 5, 2023. Battery Ventures led the round. Mine said it had raised more than $43 million in total since launching in January 2020. SecurityWeek reported the funding and company figures.

The announcement is a company-funding milestone, not a consumer investment opportunity or a public stock offering. Mine operates from Tel Aviv and in the United States from Boston.

What does MineOS do?

Mine describes MineOS as an enterprise-grade platform for data lifecycle management. SecurityWeek says it combines continuous scanning with artificial intelligence to help businesses identify, inventory, and classify structured and unstructured data in cloud and on-premise environments.

The platform is presented as a way for organizations to understand where data resides and connect that visibility to privacy and security work. Mine calls it “the singular source of truth for Data Lifecycle Management.”

Workflows Mine says it supports

  • Data discovery, inventory, and classification.
  • AI-risk assessments and shadow-IT discovery.
  • Privacy and compliance requirements.
  • Cybersecurity tasks related to data management.

How does Mine help companies manage data privacy?

Data privacy work depends on knowing what information an organization holds and where it is stored. MineOS is positioned to provide ongoing discovery and classification across different data types and environments, giving enterprise teams a shared inventory to use in privacy, compliance, and security workflows.

The funding announcement describes the intended scope and positioning of the platform; it does not provide independent performance testing, customer results, or a detailed feature-by-feature technical specification.

Who invested in Mine?

Battery Ventures led the Series B. The other investors named in SecurityWeek’s December 5, 2023 report were PayPal Ventures, Nationwide Ventures, Saban Ventures, Gradient Ventures (Google’s AI), MassMutual Ventures, and Headline Ventures.

What is SayMine?

SayMine is Mine’s consumer-focused app. It gives individuals tools to reclaim their data and gain visibility into their digital footprint, in contrast to MineOS, which is aimed at enterprise privacy and security teams.
