Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Microsoft Edge Shopping is a set of shopping tools built into the Edge browser, not a separate store or app. It can compare prices, show recent price history, track products, surface product insights, and connect eligible purchases to Microsoft Cashback. Microsoft is now moving these tools into Copilot in Edge, while the former Coupons feature has been retired. Because the rollout is gradual, the controls you see may differ by country, account, device, retailer, and Edge version.
What Microsoft Edge Shopping includes
Microsoft describes Shopping in Edge as a browser-integrated experience combining several functions. See Microsoft’s overview at Microsoft Shopping in Edge and its shopping feature page.
| Feature | What it does | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Price comparison | Shows possible prices or buying options from other retailers for a product you are viewing. | It is not a complete survey of every seller or offer. |
| Price history | Displays recent changes so you can see whether a price has risen, fallen, or stayed stable. | It describes the past; it does not predict the next price. |
| Price tracking | Lets you follow a product and receive browser or email alerts when the price meets the available alert condition. | Controls and thresholds vary by interface and rollout. |
| Product insights and comparison | Provides retailer options, product information, review-related insights, and side-by-side comparisons in supported experiences. | Listings and summaries can be incomplete or change. |
| Microsoft Cashback | Offers rewards for eligible purchases at participating retailers. | Activation, eligibility, exclusions, tracking, and confirmation all matter. |
Is Edge Shopping still available?
Yes, but it is changing. Microsoft is deprecating the standalone Shopping entry point and consolidating shopping capabilities in Copilot in Edge. Some users still see the Shopping tag in the address bar, while others access shopping controls from the Copilot sidebar. Microsoft says the transition is rolling out gradually; its Edge announcement described the United States rollout as beginning November 25, 2025. See Changes to Shopping in Edge and the Edge announcement.
The built-in Coupons feature is retired. Do not expect Edge to automatically find and apply coupons as a standard current feature. Price comparison, history, tracking, product insights, and Cashback remain the relevant tools, subject to availability. Microsoft’s retirement notice is at Microsoft Edge Shopping update: Coupons feature is retired.

How to open Shopping in Edge
Newer path: Copilot in Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge and, for personalized functions, sign in to your Microsoft account.
- Open the Copilot icon in the Edge sidebar.
- Visit a supported product page or ask Copilot a shopping question.
- Look for product cards, retailer comparisons, review summaries, price history, or a price-tracking control.
Microsoft documents this transition at Changes to Shopping in Edge. Sign-in is especially relevant to saved products, notifications, and Cashback, although Microsoft does not state that every shopping view requires an account.
Alternate or legacy path: Shopping tag
- Open a retailer’s product page.
- Look for the Shopping tag in the address bar.
- Open it to view available comparison, history, tracking, or Cashback controls.
This path remains on Microsoft’s feature documentation at Microsoft Edge shopping features, but it is not universal while the standalone entry point is being phased out.
Using each feature effectively
Price comparison
Edge may show another retailer with a lower headline price, but treat that result as a lead rather than a final answer. Check all of the following before choosing:
- Exact model number, capacity, size, color, and bundle.
- New, refurbished, used, or open-box condition.
- Seller identity and marketplace reputation.
- Shipping, taxes, membership requirements, and delivery date.
- Return window, warranty, and manufacturer coverage.
Catalog data can lag behind a retailer’s site, and a listing can change after Edge collects it.

- Easy to Use: thanks to the detachable design, you could assemble it very easily it 3 steps.
Price history
A history chart helps distinguish an unusually high price from a normal one. It may not include every seller or product variation, and a historical low may have required a short promotion, membership, coupon, or limited inventory. Use it to judge timing, not as a promise that the price will fall again.
Price tracking
- Open the exact product configuration you want.
- Open the Copilot shopping panel or Shopping tag.
- Select Track price (or the equivalent control).
- Set a target or drop threshold if the interface offers one.
- Confirm browser and email notifications are enabled.
When an alert arrives, reopen the listing and verify that the same model, seller, condition, and availability still apply. A tracked marketplace listing may have changed or disappeared.
Microsoft Cashback
Microsoft Cashback is free for eligible Microsoft account users and operates through participating retailers and Microsoft properties including Edge, Bing, MSN, Copilot, and related mobile experiences. Details are at Microsoft Cashback.
Activate the specific offer before buying, then keep the purchase in the same browsing session. Leaving the retailer, using an incompatible coupon code, or running another shopping extension can interrupt attribution. Excluded products, returns, cancellations, and unconfirmed orders can also prevent payment. Microsoft says rewards are paid through PayPal after purchase confirmation. Its Edge page listed a maximum of $200 per month and $1,000 per year as of August 18, 2026; limits and offer terms can change.

Copilot product research
Copilot can present product cards with images, stores, prices, ratings, additional options, review summaries, and price-history information. Microsoft warns that Copilot may make mistakes. Read its output as research assistance, then verify the retailer page for the exact product, seller, current price, shipping, returns, warranty, and checkout total. See Shopping with Microsoft Copilot.
Availability and account requirements
Microsoft’s feature page lists price tracking and price history in 211 countries and territories, while price comparison is listed for 29 countries. The published market list can change, and availability also depends on device, browser version, account, retailer, product page, and rollout stage. U.S. users generally have broad access, but no feature is guaranteed for every listing.
Personalized tracking, notifications, and Cashback are closely associated with signing in to a Microsoft account. If a feature is missing, sign-in is a sensible first check rather than proof that every shopping function requires authentication.
Troubleshooting missing or incorrect results
The Shopping icon is missing
- Open Copilot in the Edge sidebar; the control may have moved.
- Update Edge and sign in to the intended Microsoft account.
- Check Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Search and connected experiences.
- Try another supported retailer or product page.
- Consider regional availability and the gradual rollout.
There is no comparison or price history
The page may be unsupported, the market may not offer that function, or Edge may not have a matching product record. A different configuration, delayed catalog data, or a changed marketplace listing can also prevent a useful match.

Cashback is missing or not credited
- Confirm that the retailer and item qualify for the specific offer.
- Check that you activated the offer before checkout.
- Avoid overlapping coupon or cashback extensions.
- Keep the transaction in one session and do not leave the retailer site.
- Allow time for the order to be confirmed; returns and cancellations can void rewards.
A price alert never arrives
The threshold may not have been reached, the tracked variation may have changed, notifications may be disabled, or the listing may no longer be recognized. Reopen the tracked product rather than assuming the exact item is still available.
Copilot shows a questionable deal
Check the retailer’s product page and checkout. Copilot’s information can be stale or inaccurate, and the retailer is authoritative for final price and purchase terms.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is Edge Shopping worth using?
For an existing Edge user, it is a convenient first check: you can inspect history, compare some retailers, set alerts, and research products without installing another tool. It is less suitable as a complete market scanner, a replacement for deep long-term price archives, or a coupon solution now that Coupons is retired. Account integration and overlapping-extension conflicts are also real trade-offs.
Use it when convenience and Microsoft’s covered retailers matter most. Look elsewhere when you need broad small-seller coverage, highly granular variant matching, specialized historical data, or independent coupon discovery.

Alternatives and complements
Bing Shopping
Bing Shopping starts with a product search across retailers instead of the product page currently open in Edge. It complements Edge’s on-page tools.
Edge shopping extensions
Microsoft’s official shopping extensions collection includes PayPal Honey, Coupert, and AliHelper. They may provide coupon or retailer-specific functions that Edge no longer supplies, but adding one can interfere with Cashback attribution. Install only for a clear need and follow the offer’s terms.
Dedicated price trackers
A dedicated tracker may be a better fit for long historical records, broader retailer coverage, or specialized alert rules. Compare its coverage and privacy terms separately; Edge’s built-in tools are not designed to cover every market.
Manual verification
For expensive purchases, also check the manufacturer’s model page and at least one retailer directly. This catches variant, warranty, and seller errors that an automated comparison can miss.
