There is no verified single “signature” pair of Melania Trump sunglasses in the available reporting. Accounts describe different frames at different events, and most do not identify an exact model. The clearest approach is to match a claim to its occasion and source rather than treat a similar-looking product as the same pair.
Which sunglasses did Melania Trump wear in 2017?
In a February 11, 2017 report about her meeting with Akie Abe, Vogue described Melania Trump’s white Calvin Klein outfit as accessorized with oversized sunglasses. The report also recalled military-inspired sunglasses worn on election day and mentioned Balmain and Michael Kors, but it does not reliably connect one of those brands to each specific pair pictured. It does not establish the precise model of the oversized frames.
Vogue’s account of the Akie Abe meeting and earlier sunglasses is useful for the occasion and broad style description, not as confirmation of a model number.
What brands and later appearances have been reported?
Dior, Saint Laurent and Bottega
An AOL fashion feature updated July 23, 2026 describes a designer-sunglasses collection that includes Dior, Saint Laurent and Bottega, and reports that she wore oversized Dior frames at the 2026 World Cup final. This is secondary fashion reporting; it does not confirm the precise Dior model or establish that any one pair is her regular choice. Read AOL’s overview of the reported collection.

Ray-Ban Meta try-on
A Getty Images caption for an April 28, 2026 cross-cultural educational event with Queen Camilla and students at the White House Tennis Pavilion says Melania Trump tried on Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses. That identifies a try-on during one event; it is not evidence that she owns them or wears them regularly. See the Getty Images event caption.
Can you identify the exact model from a photograph?
Not from these reports alone. “Oversized,” “military-inspired,” and a brand name do not establish a specific model. A defensible identification needs a source that connects the pictured pair to a model, or sufficiently clear product details that can be verified independently. The sources cited here do not provide that confirmation for the 2017 oversized pair or the 2026 Dior frames.

- Check whether the source names only a brand or also gives a model.
- Treat a visually similar listing as an alternative, not proof that it is the same pair.
How to find a similar look
For the 2017 look, searching for “oversized fashion sunglasses” is a reasonable way to find a style alternative because Vogue used that broad description. Compare frame size and shape in the photograph, and check the retailer’s product details before buying. No particular retail listing is established here as the pair she wore.

No. The White House’s January 27, 2025 release identifies the official portrait’s photographer, date and location, but does not identify sunglasses. It cannot substantiate a claim about a particular pair. Read the White House portrait release.
