Dell’s 2025 Black Friday promotion reportedly began around November 10—well before Black Friday on November 28. Early coverage highlighted a Dell 15 at $399, a Dell 14 Plus at $749, an XPS 13 at $949 and Alienware discounts of up to about $650. Those prices are historical: Dell’s official Black Friday page now says the event has ended, so this is an archived assessment rather than a live sale.
The early offers were genuine, but several became cheaper later. The XPS 13 was subsequently reported at $649, the Dell 14 Plus at $499 and the Dell 15 at $299. The practical lesson is to buy a limited-stock configuration that already meets your needs, but wait on standard models when the “sale” is based only on Dell’s comparison price.
What Dell’s early Black Friday sale actually was
Deal trackers reported that Dell’s 2025 promotion went live around November 10, ahead of the November 28 event. That was not necessarily one fixed nationwide price list: offers appeared as a rolling collection of standing discounts, limited-quantity doorbusters and later price changes. Black Friday and Cyber Monday reductions could therefore differ from the first prices advertised.
Coverage warned that some doorbusters could sell out or show longer delivery estimates. A product being listed did not guarantee that the same configuration remained purchasable. See the contemporaneous timing and ad archive at Blacker Friday.

The notable early laptop prices
| Model and buyer | Reported early price | Comparison price | What happened later |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dell 15 — basic home or school use | $399 | Not stated in the early report | Later coverage reported $299 against a stated $449 comparison price |
| Dell 14 Plus — midrange, AI-PC positioning | $749 | $1,099 | Later coverage reported $499 |
| XPS 13 — premium ultraportable | $949 | $1,299 | Later coverage reported $649 |
| Alienware 16 Aurora — gaming laptop | Below $1,000 for an RTX 50-series configuration in mid-November coverage | Configuration-specific | Alienware discounts reached roughly $650 on selected products |
Prices and comparison figures above were reported by deal coverage, not independently verified as each model’s typical street price. Dell’s “was” price can be a reference price rather than the recent market price.
Best budget choice: Dell 15
The reported $399 early price made the Dell 15 the entry point for web browsing, documents, streaming and schoolwork. Its value depended heavily on the exact processor, memory, storage and screen. An entry-level chip, 8GB of RAM, 256GB storage or a dim basic display can make a low sticker price expensive over several years. The later reported $299 price shows why flexible shoppers had a reason to wait.
Best premium ultraportable: XPS 13
The XPS 13 was reported at $949, down from $1,299, in early coverage. XPS pricing varies by processor, RAM, SSD, display and Windows edition, so the model name alone is not enough to judge the offer. The later reported $649 price means $949 was an attractive early discount, but not the final 2025 low.

Best midrange or AI-PC option: Dell 14 Plus
TechRadar reported a Dell 14 Plus at $749 from $1,099 during the early sale. This was a stronger all-purpose proposition than the cheapest Dell 15 when the configuration included adequate memory and storage. Later coverage put the same product family at a reported $499, demonstrating that the first discount was not necessarily the season’s best attainable price. See the early report at TechRadar.
Gaming laptop: Alienware 16 Aurora and other configurations
Tom’s Guide reported Alienware reductions of up to approximately $650, including an Alienware 16 Aurora with an RTX 50-series GPU priced below $1,000 in mid-November coverage. That headline does not establish a universal Alienware price or a single specification. Judge the exact GPU, wattage, VRAM, display refresh rate, RAM, SSD, cooling and charger weight. TechRadar also flagged 16GB memory as a limitation on an entry-level Aurora 16 configuration. The deal details are archived at Tom’s Guide.
Desktops, monitors and accessories
Dell’s Black Friday event grouped offers across consumer laptops, desktops and all-in-ones, monitors, computer accessories, gaming PCs and gaming laptops. A category-wide banner did not mean every configuration was discounted.
Consumer desktops
Compare the included processor with the graphics card, power supply, ports, noise level and Windows edition. A strong CPU paired with integrated graphics may be unsuitable for gaming or creative work. Check whether the chassis accepts additional storage or memory.

- 256 GB SSD of storage.
- Multitasking is easy with 16GB of RAM
- Equipped with a blazing fast Core i5 2.00 GHz processor.
Alienware desktops
Alienware systems can offer strong gaming performance and distinctive designs, but compact or proprietary components may restrict future upgrades and affect thermals. Compare the GPU and power supply rather than relying on a percentage-off headline.

Check resolution, refresh rate, adaptive-sync support, HDR, color coverage, USB hub features, stand adjustment and input selection. A large discount on a basic 1080p panel may be weaker value than a smaller discount on a better-adjusted, higher-refresh display.
Accessories
Keyboards, mice, docks, webcams and storage devices may be useful add-ons, but verify compatibility, warranty and the final delivered price. Accessory discounts were part of the event without applying to every item.

How to test whether a Dell deal was genuinely good
- Identify the complete configuration. Record processor, RAM, SSD, display, GPU, operating-system edition and model number. “Dell 14 Plus” and “XPS 13” can describe materially different machines.
- Use the actual selling price. Treat Dell’s comparison price as an attributed reference, not proof of the usual street price. Check price history where available.
- Apply practical minimums. For most buyers, 16GB RAM and 512GB storage are more flexible than 8GB and 256GB. Confirm brightness, resolution and panel type rather than assuming a premium name guarantees a good screen.
- Compare retailers. Best Buy and other sellers sometimes carried different configurations or lower prices. Later coverage reported a Dell Inspiron 14 at Best Buy for $399 and a Dell 15 for $299. See the comparison report at TechRadar.
- Check ownership terms. Compare the base warranty with Premium Support or accidental-damage coverage, and confirm return rules, delivery date and whether RAM or storage can be replaced.
Buy early or wait?
Buying early made sense when
- The exact configuration met your requirements and was marked limited quantity.
- The price was near a documented historical low.
- You needed a firm delivery date more than the possibility of a later reduction.
Waiting was safer when
- The “saving” relied only on Dell’s comparison price.
- The laptop had 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, a weak display or limited upgrade access.
- You could consider Lenovo, HP, Asus, Acer, MSI, Apple or another retailer.
- The product was a regular-stock model rather than a stated doorbuster.
The XPS 13, Dell 14 Plus and Dell 15 all reportedly fell further after the early period, so a blanket “buy now” recommendation would have been misleading.

Dell’s own store is generally the better route when you need configuration customization, Dell financing, business purchasing or direct support-plan handling. Best Buy can be preferable for local pickup, in-person inspection, retailer returns and occasional exclusive configurations. A laptop that is cheaper at a retailer may also have different RAM, storage, screen or warranty terms, so compare model numbers rather than names alone.

What remains true about the 2025 event
Dell’s early 2025 sale was broad and worth monitoring, but the strongest value came from matching the configuration to the buyer—not from the largest advertised percentage. Limited-stock bargains could justify an early purchase. Standard laptops were better candidates for price tracking because later Black Friday and Cyber Monday coverage produced substantially lower reported prices.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Dell’s early Black Friday 2025 deals were real, but they were not uniformly final. The Dell 15 at $399, Dell 14 Plus at $749 and XPS 13 at $949 were notable early offers; later reported prices of $299, $499 and $649 respectively rewarded shoppers who could wait. Because Dell confirms the 2025 event has ended, treat every figure as an expired historical price and evaluate any current replacement by its full configuration, warranty and retailer terms.
