Apple lists it as reduced from $1,099 and includes a new battery, new outer shell, accessories, a one-year warranty and a 14-day return period. It is the strongest quality-adjusted offer identified as of August 18, 2026.
The 11-inch M4 iPad Pro is now a previous-generation product. Apple’s current iPad Pro range uses the M5 chip, while the iPad Air uses M4, so an M4 Pro makes sense mainly when its price is clearly below comparable M5 hardware or when you specifically want its OLED Ultra Retina XDR display and ProMotion refresh rate.
Best M4 iPad Pro 11-inch prices checked
Availability is unusually important because Apple no longer promotes the M4 iPad Pro as its current model. The table separates live, sold-out and historical prices so an old discount is not mistaken for an orderable deal.

What each storage version is worth
These are buying thresholds, not guaranteed listings. They compare an older M4 model with current-generation alternatives and account for the risks of discontinued inventory.
| Version | Original U.S. MSRP | Practical buying guidance |
|---|---|---|
| 256GB Wi‑Fi | $999 | Strong new deal below roughly $850; certified-refurbished target below roughly $750 |
| 512GB Wi‑Fi | $1,099 | Apple’s $929 Certified Refurbished listing is credible; compare its $70 premium over the original 256GB MSRP with your storage needs |
| 1TB Wi‑Fi | $1,499 | Look for a substantial clearance discount; otherwise compare directly with an M5 iPad Pro |
| 2TB Wi‑Fi | $1,899 | Usually justified only for professional video, large creative libraries or specialized workflows |
| Cellular | Generally $200 more than the equivalent Wi‑Fi model | Pay the premium only for regular mobile connectivity; verify unlocked status and supported bands |
The $750, $850 and similar figures are editorial decision points, not verified prices. Cellular pricing is a general launch relationship; compare the actual storage-equivalent Wi‑Fi listing rather than a retailer’s percentage-off label.
Original configurations and hardware differences
The 11-inch M4 iPad Pro launched in May 2024 with an Ultra Retina XDR display, OLED technology, ProMotion, P3 wide color, True Tone, an antireflective coating, Face ID, four-speaker audio, USB‑C, a landscape 12MP Center Stage camera and a 12MP rear camera. Apple states up to 10 hours of battery life, and the tablet supports Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil (USB‑C).

256GB or 512GB?
- 256GB: Usually enough for streaming, office work, browsing, notes and light photo editing.
- 512GB: Better for large photo libraries, video projects, offline media, creative-app libraries and longer ownership without expandable storage.
At $929, Apple’s 512GB Certified Refurbished model costs only $70 more than the original 256GB launch MSRP, making it the more attractive capacity when that listing is available.
Is Apple Certified Refurbished the safest choice?
For an older iPad Pro, Apple’s program removes several common uncertainties. Apple says Certified Refurbished iPads receive a new battery and outer shell, include original or equivalent accessories and ship in a new white box. They receive the same one-year limited warranty as a new iPad, are eligible for AppleCare and have a 14-day return policy. Supply is limited and configuration-specific.

- WHY IPAD PRO — iPad Pro is the ultimate iPad experience in an impossibly thin and light design. Featuring the breakthrough Ultra Retina XDR display, outrageous performance from the M4 chip, superfast wireless connectivity,* and compatibility with Apple Pencil Pro.* Plus powerful productivity features in iPadOS.
- BUILT FOR APPLE INTELLIGENCE—Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that helps you write, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly. With groundbreaking privacy protections, it gives you peace of mind that no one else can access your data—not even Apple.*
- 11-INCH ULTRA RETINA XDR DISPLAY — Ultra Retina XDR delivers extreme brightness and contrast and exceptional color accuracy and features advanced technologies like ProMotion, P3 wide color, and True Tone.* Plus a nano-texture display glass option is available in 1TB and 2TB configurations.
- PERFORMANCE AND STORAGE — Up to 10-core CPU in the M4 chip delivers powerful performance, while the 10‑core GPU provides blazing-fast graphics. And with all-day battery life, you can do anything you imagine on iPad Pro.* Up to 2TB of storage means you can store everything from apps to large files like 4K video.*
- IPADOS + APPS — iPadOS makes iPad more productive, intuitive, and versatile. With iPadOS, run multiple apps at once, use Apple Pencil to write in any text field with Scribble, and edit and share photos.* Stage Manager makes multitasking easy with resizable, overlapping apps and external display support. iPad Pro comes with essential apps like Safari, Messages, and Keynote, with over a million more apps available on the App Store.
That protection explains why Apple’s $929 price can be preferable to a much cheaper anonymous marketplace listing. It does not make the M4 automatically the right purchase: compare the final price with an in-stock M5 iPad Pro and decide whether the OLED display and ProMotion are essential.
Retailer-refurbished, open-box and used listings
“Geek Squad Certified,” “excellent,” “open box,” retailer-refurbished and Apple Certified Refurbished are separate programs. A retailer’s comparable-value figure may refer to an MSRP, an internal estimate or a previous price. Best Buy’s $459.99 512GB entry illustrates why: it was sold out, so the displayed number proves only that a low price appeared, not that a buyer can obtain one now.

1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteQuestions to answer before ordering
- Is the seller Apple, the retailer itself or a marketplace merchant?
- Is battery health disclosed, and can it be checked after delivery?
- What are the return period and warranty length?
- Are the USB‑C cable and charger included?
- Does the condition description exclude scratches, bright spots or dead pixels?
- Is the device 11-inch, 512GB (or the stated capacity), and Wi‑Fi rather than cellular?
- If cellular, is it unlocked and compatible with your carrier?
- Is the “saving” measured against MSRP, a comparable value or a temporary coupon?
Historical price context
The original U.S. starting price was $999 for 256GB Wi‑Fi. MacRumors reported an Amazon promotion at $899 in August 2024 and described discounts of up to $200 across the range. That $899 figure is a documented historical low for the base configuration, not a current August 2026 offer: MacRumors report.

Price trackers can show larger dollar reductions on expensive capacities. A $430 reduction on a 2TB model, for example, may still be worse value for someone who needs only 256GB or 512GB. Tracker entries can also involve coupons, short-lived inventory or listings that have already sold.
When the M4 still makes sense in 2026
Buy the M4 when
- The price is materially below comparable M5 iPad Pro pricing.
- You specifically want the OLED Ultra Retina XDR display and 120Hz ProMotion.
- You need the M4’s performance, video engine or Pro features in a compact tablet.
- An Apple Certified Refurbished unit supplies a new battery and full warranty.
- You already own compatible accessories, improving the total cost.
Choose a newer or different model when
- The M4 price is close to an in-stock M5 iPad Pro.
- You want the longest remaining support horizon, current colors or easier new-product financing.
- You do not care specifically about the M4 generation or OLED Pro display.
- The M4 iPad Air offers sufficient performance at a lower price; it does not provide the Pro’s OLED/ProMotion display and other Pro features.
- A used M2 or M1 iPad Pro is substantially cheaper and meets your workload.

Wi‑Fi versus cellular
Cellular is worthwhile only when you regularly work away from reliable Wi‑Fi or do not want to tether to a phone. Verify the carrier-unlocked status, supported bands, U.S. region, SIM or eSIM support and whether the seller’s warranty covers cellular operation. Never call a cellular listing a bargain merely because it is below its original cellular MSRP; compare it with today’s Wi‑Fi price for the same storage.

Standard glass versus nano-texture
Nano-texture glass is limited to 1TB and 2TB models. It can reduce reflections in bright studios, offices or outdoor settings, but costs more and is not a universal upgrade. Standard glass is the sensible value choice for most indoor users.
Inspection checklist for used or third-party units
- Have the seller erase the device so it reaches the setup screen; confirm it is not Activation Locked.
- Test Face ID, cameras, speakers and microphones.
- Display a white and dark image to check for burn-in, bright spots, dead pixels and severe scratches.
- Test USB‑C charging and data transfer.
- Connect to Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and, on cellular models, the mobile network.
- Check that Apple recognizes the serial number.
- Confirm the device is not managed by a school or business.
- Open Settings > General > iPad Storage and match the advertised capacity.
- Ask about battery condition and watch for unusually rapid drain; do not assume a specific percentage without disclosure.
- Keep the seller’s return window available until every test passes.
Budget for the complete purchase
The tablet is only part of the cost. On the referenced Apple purchase page, Apple Pencil Pro was listed at $129, Apple Pencil (USB‑C) at $79, and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss at $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year. AppleCare One was listed at $19.99 per month for up to three products. These prices are volatile and should be checked at checkout. Magic Keyboard pricing varies by configuration and page state.
Add tax, shipping, a keyboard, Pencil and any cellular data plan before comparing an M4 with an M5. A cheaper tablet can lose its advantage once required accessories and protection are included.
Quick Recap
Bottom-line buying thresholds
- Buy now: Apple Certified Refurbished 512GB Wi‑Fi at $929, if you want the OLED Pro experience and the listing remains in stock.
- Buy a 256GB new unit: Aim for roughly $799–$849 from a reputable seller with clear stock and warranty terms. The $899 August 2024 price is a historical benchmark.
- Wait or compare M5: If a new 256GB M4 is near $999, or a high-capacity M4 is close to current M5 pricing.
- Avoid: Sold-out pages, unclear marketplace sellers, activation-locked devices, missing accessories, undisclosed battery condition and listings that mix 11-inch, 13-inch, Wi‑Fi and cellular specifications.
