Short answer: Koodo’s reported $25-per-month, 4G win-back offer was real in 2024, but it was a targeted offer to selected former customers—not a standard public plan. Reports described roughly 30GB of data (one report cited 40GB), unlimited Canada-wide calling and texting, and a choice of perk. As of August 18, 2026, Koodo’s public pages do not confirm that this exact postpaid offer remains available.
What the reported offer included
MobileSyrup reported the offer on May 3, 2024, based on former-customer reports. The reported terms were:
| Term | What was reported |
|---|---|
| Price | $25 per month |
| Data | 30GB at 4G speed in the MobileSyrup report; another contemporaneous report described 40GB |
| Calling | Unlimited Canada-wide calling |
| Messaging | Unlimited Canada-wide texting |
| Perk | A choice of one free perk was reported |
| Customer | Selected former Koodo customers who had moved to another carrier |
| Channel | Targeted outreach, apparently by phone or email, rather than a public plan page |
| Duration | Not established generally; the individual offer controls |
Read the original reports from MobileSyrup and iPhone in Canada. Neither report establishes that every recipient received identical terms.
Why some reports say 30GB and others say 40GB
The conflicting data figures are a reason to treat the headline as a campaign description, not a guaranteed specification. Koodo may have varied the allowance by customer, campaign version or date. Your account-specific written offer is more authoritative than a screenshot, forum post or article headline.

Who could get a win-back offer?
The reported pattern was a customer who had previously used Koodo, ported to another provider and was selected for targeted outreach. Selection may have depended on account history, how recently the customer left, the current campaign and other internal criteria. Coverage supports “some former customers” and does not establish a universal waiting period, geographic rule or automatic eligibility.
Existing customers generally could not obtain the same former-customer price simply by browsing Koodo’s public plans. Leaving Koodo only creates a possibility of outreach; it does not guarantee a call, a particular price or any offer at all.

Is it a genuine Koodo plan or a scam?
Established Canadian wireless publications reported the promotion, so the campaign itself was credible. A legitimate targeted offer may not appear in Koodo’s normal catalogue. That does not make every unsolicited caller genuine.
- Sign in to Koodo Self Serve or contact Koodo through the official website.
- Ask the representative to place the offer on your account and provide its complete terms in writing.
- Do not use a callback number, link or payment method supplied only by an unexpected caller.
- Check that the contracting party and service terms align with Koodo Mobile, the registered business name of TELUS Communications Inc., as described in Koodo’s service terms.
Is $25 a permanent price?
Nothing in the public reporting proves that $25 was a lifetime rate. It could have been a base price, a recurring credit or a time-limited promotion. Before accepting, obtain answers to these questions:

Koodo’s terms allow rate and service changes. Its price-increase policy says affected customers receive at least 30 days’ notice through a bill or Self Serve; that notice policy is not a promise that a promotional price cannot change. See Koodo’s price-increase policy.
What “4G” means here
“4G” identifies the advertised speed tier, not necessarily a separate physical network from Koodo’s LTE service. Koodo says its 4G prepaid plans can reach download speeds of up to 100Mbps, while its current public 5G pages advertise speeds up to 1Gbps. Actual performance varies with coverage, location, device and congestion. Sources: Koodo’s 4G speed explanation and Koodo’s BYOD page.

Compare the whole offer rather than the label: data allowance, speed cap, hotspot rules, Canada-only versus roaming use, post-promotion price and coverage where you live.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to handle a possible win-back contact
- Keep your existing carrier active while you verify the offer.
- Ask for the exact price, data amount, speed, perks, expiry, fees and payment conditions in writing.
- Confirm whether the plan is postpaid, BYOD-only and Canada-only.
- Verify number-porting instructions and the date Koodo service will begin.
- Accept only after the account-specific terms match what you were promised.
Porting out solely to trigger a call is speculative. There is no verified guarantee that Koodo will contact you or that its offer will beat your current plan.

Questions to ask before accepting
- “Is this offer active on my account today?”
- “How many gigabytes are included at 4G speed, and is the data Canada-only?”
- “Are Canada-wide calling and international texts included?”
- “What is the perk, and can I change it later?”
- “What is the price before and after every credit, and when do credits end?”
- “Are automatic payments, activation, SIM or eSIM fees required?”
- “What happens if I change my phone, plan or add financing?”
- “Can you send these terms by email or text before I agree?”
What happens to your current carrier account?
Do not cancel the old service before the number transfer completes. Koodo says its BYOD process can keep your number and handle cancellation during the transfer; confirm completion yourself and check for any device-financing balance or final bill. See Koodo’s BYOD instructions.
Current public Koodo alternatives
As of August 18, 2026, Koodo’s public postpaid pages emphasize 5G BYOD plans with unlimited Canada-wide minutes, unlimited international SMS and a selectable perk. They do not verify the historical $25/30GB 4G win-back price: rate plans and BYOD plans.
Koodo’s public prepaid page lists plans of $25 for 5GB, $30 for 15GB and $35 per 30 days for 30GB at 4G speed when automatic top-up is used; the displayed $35 option shows 25GB without automatic top-up. This is prepaid, not the former-customer postpaid promotion: Koodo prepaid plans.
Koodo is also preparing for changes to older network technology: its information page says national 3G shutdown activity begins March 1, 2027, with a separate $5 charge from June 15, 2026 for certain prepaid customers using legacy 3G devices. That policy is unrelated to the win-back offer: Koodo’s 3G notice.
Should you leave your carrier to chase the deal?
Only do so if you would be comfortable receiving no win-back offer and you already have a better confirmed alternative. A $25 rate could be attractive, but the allowance, discount period, fees and eligibility may differ, while another plan may provide 5G speeds, roaming or stronger price certainty.
