Kingston ranked No. 1 among global DRAM module makers by revenue in 2025, with a reported 62% share, according to TrendForce’s September 2026 ranking. That figure is for the DRAM module market—not the broader market for DRAM chips—and describes 2025 results, not Kingston’s current 2026 share.

What Kingston’s No. 1 ranking means

The ranking compares makers of DRAM modules, the memory products installed in computers and servers, by revenue. It does not rank semiconductor manufacturers by chip sales, and it is not a count of modules shipped. TrendForce’s report, published September 22, 2026, covers the 2025 market; Kingston announced the result on September 28, 2026.

TrendForce estimated Kingston held 62% of global DRAM module revenue in 2025. The market generated $21.2 billion in revenue, up 59% year over year. Kingston’s own DRAM module revenue increased 48% year over year, according to TrendForce. Revenue growth should not be read as equivalent growth in units sold or profit.

How the wider market changed in 2025

TrendForce reported that market revenue growth accelerated from 7% in 2024 to 59% in 2025. It attributed the change to higher DRAM prices and stronger shipments in the second half of the year.

DDR4 inventory early in the year

Some module makers built DDR4 inventory in the second quarter amid tariff concerns and DRAM suppliers’ end-of-life plans for DDR4, TrendForce said. The stockpiling reflected concern about availability and pricing as the product generation moved toward retirement.

Server demand tightened supply later

In the second half, North American and Chinese cloud service providers increased server DRAM orders to support agentic AI workloads, according to TrendForce. The added demand limited allocations for PC and consumer applications and contributed to higher DRAM prices. Module makers increasingly emphasized industrial and enterprise server products, while DDR5 became their primary product line in the latter half of the year.

Why Kingston stayed ahead—and who followed

TrendForce linked Kingston’s 48% revenue growth to its procurement scale: the company was able to build inventory during 2024 and 2025 and supply the channel as prices strengthened in the second half of 2025. This is TrendForce’s explanation of Kingston’s performance, not an independently tested assessment.

The top five makers accounted for 77% of 2025 DRAM module market revenue. TrendForce ranked ADATA second and Ramaxel third. ADATA’s DRAM revenue grew 82% year over year, while Ramaxel’s rose 153%, the highest growth rate among companies in the ranking. Those growth rates do not by themselves indicate market share, unit growth, or profitability.

Kingston’s explanation of its position

Kingston attributed its leadership to its long-term strategy, supplier relationships, and worldwide customer service. “Maintaining our leadership position in a dynamic and rapidly evolving memory market reflects Kingston’s long-term strategy, strong supplier relationships, and commitment to serving customers worldwide,” said Kristy Ernt, DRAM business manager at Kingston, in the company’s September 28, 2026 announcement. That statement is the company’s characterization of its position; the revenue ranking itself comes from TrendForce.

How the current ranking compares with Kingston’s older result

Kingston’s archive reproduces a TrendForce ranking that assigned the company 78.12% of global memory module supplier revenue in 2022. The figure comes from a different year and a differently described market measure; available sources do not establish a fully comparable methodology or continuous trend series. It should not be treated as directly comparable to the 62% DRAM module revenue share for 2025.

What the ranking means if you are shopping for memory

A market-leading revenue position does not establish that a particular Kingston module is the best fit or value for a specific computer. The right module depends on the device and its supported memory type and form factor. Kingston’s memory finder lets users search by system, part number, or memory specifications, and includes DDR4 and DDR5 options as well as DIMM and SODIMM form factors. The ranking is industry context, not a product test or compatibility recommendation.
