Kevin Spacey said in a November 2025 interview with The Telegraph that he had no permanent home, was staying in hotels and Airbnbs near work, and that his finances were “not great.” He later clarified that he did not mean he was homeless in the colloquial sense. These are Spacey’s descriptions of his circumstances, not independently audited accounts of his finances.

What Kevin Spacey meant by “I have no home”

In a November 2025 interview with The Telegraph, Spacey described moving between hotels and Airbnb rentals as he went where work took him. The Los Angeles Times reported his statement: “I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”

After headlines characterized him as homeless, Spacey objected to that wording. As The Independent reported, he said: “But I feel it would be disingenuous of me to allow you to believe that I am homeless in the colloquial sense.” His account was that he lacked a permanent home and stayed in temporary accommodations—not that he was living on the street or in a car.

What he said about his finances

Spacey told The Telegraph his finances were “not great” and attributed losing his Baltimore home to high expenses over several years and little income. The Los Angeles Times reported those statements; they should be understood as his account, not as a verified balance sheet. No independently established net worth or total debt is provided in the cited coverage.

There was an earlier account of financial pressure. In a 2024 interview with Piers Morgan, Spacey said his Baltimore house was being foreclosed on and that he owed many millions of dollars in legal fees. Those figures and circumstances, too, were statements by Spacey, not independently audited financial findings. The Los Angeles Times recounted the interview in its 2025 report.

How the legal timeline fits—and what it does not prove

The housing and financial remarks followed years of criminal and civil proceedings. The legal outcomes are distinct from Spacey’s personal account of his finances:

  • 2022: A New York jury found that Spacey did not molest Anthony Rapp in the civil lawsuit Rapp brought.
  • 2023: Spacey was acquitted on all nine counts in a UK criminal trial involving four complainants.
  • 2026: Three civil claims against Spacey in London were settled before trial. The Associated Press reported that the terms were confidential and the judge made no order regarding costs; the settlements were not findings of liability.

The Los Angeles Times reported in 2025 that more than 30 men had accused Spacey of sexual misconduct or assault since 2017. That is a count of accusations, not a count of proven findings. The acquittal, the 2022 civil verdict, and the later confidential settlements each describe particular proceedings; none establishes a complete account of Spacey’s finances.
