It may be worthwhile if you can use its quarterly IHG food-and-beverage vouchers, qualifying airline credit and anniversary free night for spending and stays you already want. Don’t assume the advertised benefit ceilings are cash savings: estimate what you will actually use, then subtract the fee. This is the new Premier Select—not the older IHG One Rewards Select card, which is closed to new applicants.
How to calculate whether the $350 fee is worth paying
Use values you expect to realize, not the issuer’s headline estimate:
Estimated annual value = usable IHG food-and-beverage rewards + airline credit actually used + realistic value of an anniversary night you would book + other benefits you would otherwise pay for − $350.
Use the cash price of a suitable hotel stay you would genuinely book to value the certificate, rather than assigning it a fixed value. Count credits only when they replace spending you would have made anyway. Points, status and Elite Night Credits are personal-use benefits, not guaranteed cash offsets.

Which benefits can offset the fee?
| Benefit | What Chase lists | How to count it |
|---|---|---|
| Food & Beverage Rewards | Up to $300 per year, issued as a $75 voucher each quarter | Count only the amount you expect to redeem at eligible IHG hotels. The quarterly cadence may make the full amount difficult to use if you do not stay at IHG properties regularly. |
| Airline statement credit | $200 after at least $250 in qualifying flight purchases made directly with an airline, under the published annual terms through December 31, 2027 | Count it only if you can meet the purchase terms and would otherwise make the qualifying purchase. Check the current terms for eligibility and credit timing. |
| Anniversary Free Night | Certificate with a current 60,000-point redemption cap; points from your IHG account can be added for a higher-priced redemption | Value it against a suitable stay you would actually book. Award availability, dates, room type and your willingness to stay at the property determine its practical value. |
| United TravelBank | Up to $50 per calendar year | Count only if you link the eligible card to a MileagePlus account and meet the deposit mechanics. |
| Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS fee credit | Up to $120 every four years | It is not an annual $120 benefit. Include it only if you apply for an eligible program and would otherwise pay the fee. |
These are conditional benefits or maximums, not guaranteed savings. Chase lists the current benefits and their terms on its Premier Select product page.
How to value the anniversary night
IHG Reward Night prices vary, so the hotels available within a 60,000-point certificate cap can change by date and property. Check a real trip before counting the certificate as an offset: find a suitable property and dates, confirm award availability, and compare the redemption with a cash stay you would otherwise book. If the award costs more than 60,000 points, Chase says you can add IHG points from your account. IHG explains variable Reward Night pricing and certificate caps in its FAQ.

When status, points and night credits add value
Platinum Elite status
The card provides automatic IHG One Rewards Platinum Elite status while the account remains eligible. Chase associates Platinum with a 60% bonus on base points at most IHG stays, a welcome amenity, access to Reward Night discounts, and possible room upgrades or late checkout subject to availability. These can matter to a traveler who stays with IHG; they are not a dependable cash rebate for someone who rarely does.
Elite Night Credits
The card provides 20 Elite Night Credits at the start of each calendar year, with further credits available through specified spending milestones. They may help members pursuing higher IHG status or milestone rewards. If you do not stay enough to pursue those benefits, assign them little or no value in your calculation.

Points earning and other IHG benefits
Chase lists up to 28X total points on IHG stays when card earnings are combined with base/member and Platinum bonuses; 6X on dining and other travel, including rideshare; and 3X on other purchases. It also lists a 20,000-point bonus after $15,000 in annual purchases, fourth Reward Night free on eligible four-or-more-night points bookings, an additional free night after $40,000 in annual purchases, discounted points purchases and no foreign transaction fees. The return from points depends on how you redeem them, and the spending milestones are not automatically worthwhile: include them only if they fit your normal spending and travel plans. IHG says the fourth-night-free benefit applies to eligible U.S. Chase IHG cardmembers on a stay of four or more consecutive Reward Nights.
Who is most likely to get value from the card?
- Potentially a good fit: An IHG regular who expects to use most quarterly vouchers without spending extra, can meet the airline credit terms, and has a realistic anniversary-night redemption.
- Potentially useful: A traveler who values Platinum benefits or Elite Night Credits because they stay with IHG and use the program.
- Be cautious: If you rarely stay at IHG hotels, cannot use the quarterly vouchers, or would spend more just to redeem them, those benefits may contribute little to your calculation.
- Be cautious: If you mainly want a card for everyday purchases, compare the net return from 3X on other purchases with alternatives and with your own value for IHG points.
Compare the right cards and verify current terms
Chase and IHG announced a broad card refresh on October 1, 2026. The existing IHG One Rewards Premier card and a no-annual-fee IHG option are natural comparisons, but confirm current fees and benefits directly with Chase. An indexed IHG comparison page may not reflect the refresh, so do not rely on it as current pricing without confirmation.

The older IHG One Rewards Select is a separate legacy product, not another name for Premier Select. Chase lists the legacy Select as closed to new applicants, with 5X earning at IHG hotels, 2X at gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants, 1X elsewhere, a 40,000-point anniversary night and Platinum status. Existing cardholders should make a keep-or-close decision using their own account terms and expected use. See Chase’s page for other IHG cards for its legacy-card information.
Chase’s October 1, 2026 launch announcement says Premier Select offers “over $1,000 in value in the first year.” That is Chase’s promotional valuation, not an independent estimate or a prediction of what an individual cardholder will realize. The announcement also describes an IHG network of over 7,000 properties and 21 brands worldwide; network size alone does not establish the value of the card for a particular traveler. Read the launch announcement alongside Chase’s current product terms before applying, since offers and benefit rules can change.
