Stellantis has not announced that it will discontinue five brands—or named any brands for closure—in its May 2026 FaSTLAne 2030 strategy. The plan instead gives the portfolio different roles and directs 70% of planned brand and product investment to Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, FIAT, and Pro One. That prioritization may prompt questions about the other marques, but it is not a closure schedule. The current public evidence also does not support a reliable ranking of five brands most likely to disappear.
What Stellantis has announced about its brands
FaSTLAne 2030, announced May 21, 2026, is a five-year strategy that assigns roles across Stellantis’s portfolio. The company identifies Jeep, Ram, Peugeot, and FIAT as its four global brands with the greatest scale and profit potential. It groups Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, Opel, and Alfa Romeo as regional brands focused on core markets, with shared assets and stronger differentiation. DS and Lancia are described as specialty brands managed under Citroën and FIAT, respectively; Maserati is positioned as a luxury brand. Stellantis’s strategy announcement and FaSTLAne 2030 overview set out those roles.
The company says 70% of planned brand and product investment will go to the four global brands and Pro One, its commercial vehicle unit. That is a statement about investment priorities, not an announcement that the remaining brands will be closed. CEO Antonio Filosa said, “Every brand in Stellantis will play a clear role in delivering our FaSTLAne 2030 commitments.” The remark describes the plan, not a guarantee of any brand’s long-term commercial success.
Can five brands be identified as likely to close?
Not responsibly from the available public evidence. Stellantis has not specified a five-brand closure list, and the reviewed sources do not provide comparable brand-by-brand sales, margins, product plans, investment levels, or closure probabilities. Naming five brands as the most likely to disappear would turn an editorial guess into a claim the evidence cannot support.

The regional brands—Chrysler, Dodge, Citroën, Opel, and Alfa Romeo—receive less explicit investment priority than the four global brands and Pro One. But Stellantis says they will focus on core markets and use shared assets. That makes them reasonable subjects of scrutiny, not confirmed or demonstrably likely closure candidates. The strategy does not rank the five regional brands against one another.
What the evidence says about brands readers may worry about
Chrysler and Dodge
Both are classified as regional brands in FaSTLAne 2030. The plan’s stated approach is to focus each regional brand on its core market while using shared assets; it does not announce a Chrysler or Dodge shutdown. The sources reviewed do not establish a brand-specific closure timetable or a comparative forecast of either marque’s prospects.
Citroën, Opel, and Alfa Romeo
Stellantis places all three in the same regional-brand group and describes the same broad operating approach. The company’s portfolio statement alone does not establish that one is more exposed than another, nor does it provide comparable brand-level financial or product data to support that conclusion.
DS and Lancia
Stellantis describes DS and Lancia as historic specialty brands managed within the Citroën and FIAT organizations. Organizational integration may affect how the company manages them, but it is not an announcement that either marque is ending. The 2026 interim report filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission repeats these roles and the company’s stated plans.

Maserati
Maserati is not described as a brand to wind down: Stellantis says it intends to strengthen the marque’s future as a luxury brand and plans two new E-segment vehicles. The company said a more detailed Maserati roadmap was expected by December 2026, so that roadmap date is still in the future as of September 30, 2026. These are company plans, not proof that the vehicles or broader strategy will succeed.
Why recent cuts and regional results do not settle the question
In February 2026, Stellantis said its business reset produced approximately €22.2 billion in charges in the second half of 2025 and included cancelling products that could not achieve profitable scale. The announcement concerns products and business operations; it does not identify brands for discontinuation. A cancelled vehicle or program is not, by itself, evidence that its marque will disappear. The reset announcement provides the company’s explanation.

Likewise, group or regional performance cannot stand in for a brand’s finances. Stellantis’s FY2025 release reports results by region, including improved shipments in North America and lower shipments in Enlarged Europe. Those aggregates cover multiple brands and do not establish any single marque’s sales trend, margins, or viability. The FY2025 results release is not a brand-by-brand survival forecast.

A defensible comparison would need brand-specific, current evidence rather than portfolio-wide investment statements. Useful indicators would include:

Best Value
- Recent sales trends and market share in the brand’s core markets.
- Confirmed product plans, model coverage, and the pace of replacement vehicles.
- Announced investment and access to platforms or shared technology.
- The brand’s stated role and geographic focus in Stellantis’s strategy.
- An explicit company announcement of consolidation, a sale, or an end-of-production plan.
The current strategy and filings establish the announced portfolio structure, but do not publish a comparable dataset covering those indicators for every brand. Until Stellantis announces a specific closure or supplies more brand-level evidence, any list of “the five most likely” brands should be treated as speculation, not a company-backed forecast.
